Casio Calculator

Advantages: Good Price, Does that it says it will, Solar powered
Disadvantages: None that i can think of

...I bought this calculator at my local woolworths as i was after a scientific calculator and one that was cheap(i paid under £10 for this one which seemed a good price). The calculator is made by Casio which are a well known brand for making anything from calculators to TV's . The dimensions are 84x155x12mm and it is a light too which is a bonus. The keys are large enough for most people and all the writing is clear on and above the keys. This scientific calculator with has 249 functions (164 scientific functions) - including statistic functions. It is primarily aimed at secondary school student but i reckon it will be fine for almost any function unless you need the functions of a graphic calculator It is solar powered so it doesn't require any batteries in order to function however as with all solar powered products, you just...

Casio the wonder calculator!

Advantages: Reliable, Long battery life and very handy!
Disadvantages: Long mathmatical equation inputting not so good.

...This Casio calculator has been at my side for approximately at least 5years now, and is in more demand now than previous use. I have used this calculator in 3 main areas. 1. General GCSE 2. Chemistry and Biology A-level and now 3. Chemistry degree (first year only so far?) GCSE: Harking back to the good ole days (why are they called the good ole days? Someone please tell me why!) My calculator joined me in my quest of maths at the tender age of 13, where the most advanced calculations it was asked to do was to deal with are such aspects as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roots, powers and bracketed equations. These are the basics of most maths until a level maths, and on these small calculations it doesn?t fail. One would think that if it did it wouldn?t really be a good calculator! (By the way...

Casio Calculator

Advantages: Functions, colour, 2 way power
Disadvantages: too complex to use

...I bought this calculator for my A level examinations. It is terribly handy, I do a lot of maths and be it calculus, vectors, complex numbers or statistics, this calculator will help you a lot. Not only does it boast 403 functions, and most of the keys look like that should be on a UFOs spaceship, if you read the handbook and know how to access and use the functions it is great. These functions are not ones that allow you to cheat ( sadly :P) but they do provide a good basis to check your answers, which can be very valuable when you have no clue whether you good be right or not. Also it comes with a solar panel, providing two way power, meaning you dont have to be scared about whether it would stop in the middle of an exam....

Casio fx-83EX is a great school calculator!

Advantages: See Review
Disadvantages: See Review

...will be some useful functions on these type of calculators (like solving quadratic equation and drawing out graph transformations etc.) that you cannot do on the Casio fx-83EX. But even now, at university, i still keep this calculator as it is so easy to use and has useful functions that you sometimes don't even get on the very expensive calculators! I would definitely recommend this product! Another last note is to say that to be honest, you don't even need to bother with the instruction manual as it is so simple to use and it is a commonly used calculator in schools so the teachers are bound to know how to do everything!...

Casio MS-8V Calculator

Advantages: Robust design, easy to use
Disadvantages: None

...Working in the motor trade, there are many tools that you need, a telephone, a computer and a good calculator! Mostly I put it down to my age, but a lot of the calculators on the market call for the user to have a PHD in physics! I for one when using a calculator look for ease of use. I'm not the type of guy who needs a computer to tell me what the time is in New York or the exchange rate in Zambia! The point I am trying to make is that, for the job I do (Parts Manager at a franchised car dealership); I need little more than a calculator to add, subtract, divide and multiply. The Casio MS-8V does the job rather well, and that's good enough for me. I don't want to belittle my job as it can get a bit stressful at times, so the ease of use of the calculator makes MY job easier. The Design ---------------- The casing is...

The perfect calculator

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None really

...I'm aware of the fact that there isn't really much to say about a scientific calculator in a consumer review... however this model of Casio has served me well for so many years and faultlessly that it deserved a couple of lines. I am reviewing the Casio FX-570MS Scientific Calculator, a Button-type battery operated calculator with 401 Functions, 2-Line Display and 10+2 Digits. What's good about it? Well almost everything. Let's see some details. As I said it has a two lines display which is helpful when doing calculations since you can see the previous entry/result in the second line while you're starting a new calculation. It comes with slide-on hard case which protects the side where the screen is but can also be slided backwards so there is no chance to lose the cover. Inside the cover there is, printed, a table...

calculating success!

Advantages: Thoroughly useful if you are studying maths!
Disadvantages: It is a little pricey.

...The Casio fx-9750GII is one of the newest releases in the graphical calculator range from casio, as you would expect from such a large brand its almost faultless! The calculator comes standard with a 3 year warrantee which is helpful considering the price! The calculator comes with 64kb RAM and also has a USB port so you can connect it to your computer. If you havent used a Graphical calculator before and you work with more complex maths regularly i would definatly suggest investing in one, and this is a top of the range model. As with most standard scientific calculators it can convert from fractions to decimals, calculate simple and complex multiplications divisions etc.. but as this is graphical it can do just that little bit more, it also has a very clear icon menu. The Icon menu clearly shows each available main function...

Scientific Calculator

Advantages: Easy to use, reliable, batteries last AGES!
Disadvantages: No solar panel to back up batteries

...I first got this calculator when I was 13 or 14 years old. Our maths teacher told us we needed a scientific calculator and although I already had one, it was different to the one the teacher had. The teacher told us we could buy one through school and this way we would all have the same calculator. Normally it wouldn?t bother me if I was different but in this instance I wanted one the same, as calculations are sometimes worked out slightly differently on different calculators. I love this calculator and have used it happily in many lessons and exams since I first bought it. ~ What is a Scientific Calculator? ~ A scientific calculator is a more complex calculator than the usual calculator you may use. Scientific calculators support mathematical functions such as trigonometry, statistics, algebra and scientific notation. ~ Why...

Cool Calculations in Chemistry!

Advantages: Very useful, lots of practice questions
Disadvantages: Only in black and white, expensive

...-level course and contains all the information on the types of questions based around calculations. I have looked all over the book and I can't find which specification it is for so I assume the calculations in A-Level chemistry are pretty universal over all the major exams boards. (I am with AQA and the majority of the book is relevant for me.) The book is split into 11 chapters - from chapters containing basic formulae to chapters with more difficult aspects of chemistry. Each chapter has information about calculations including worked examples complete with model answers. This gives information about when you would use these calculations in chemistry as well as showing you how they are done before giving some problems for you to try. There are answers and some worked solutions at the back of the book, which help you check your progress...

Calculator Chaos

Advantages: None really
Disadvantages: Really confusing to use

...I have to use a calculator at work, so when my old one finally gave up on me, the company I work for supplied me with another - a Casio fx - 85ms. I've had it for about 6 months now and I still have no idea how to use it. The calculator is approximately 15cm by 9 cm and is only 1.5cm thick. It weighs a mere 138g so feels quite light for quite a large calculator. It is two way powered (solar power or 1.5V battery) and comes in a greyish - black plastic. It has a flat cover that can be slid off and on to protect the calculator front when not in use. There is a two-line display that makes it possible to view both the calculation formula and its result at the same time. The Casio fx - 85ms comes with clearly displayed numbers and signs (such as addition, multiplication etc.). It is divided into three main sections. The bottom...
