...In the sleepy Yorkshire town of Rylestone, not a lot happens. Each week the local women venture down to the local church hall for the regular WI meetings, where they learn about Arts and Crafts and Broccoli. When the husband of Annie, one of the WI members, dies from Leukemia, her best friend Chris comes up with a plan to raise funds for the local hospital, which treated him, by having the women of the WI appear in an arty, nude calendar. After much cajoling, they manage to convince enough members of the WI to join in, and after a bit of opposition from the WI's president, the calendar gets the go ahead and is created. Too their surprise, the calendar is a huge success and causes quite a stir both in England and across the waters in America. As the media frenzy around the calendar reaches fever pitch, the strain starts to take its toll...

Lego Belville Advent Calendar

Advantages: So much fun! Looks so cute. Unique and different
Disadvantages: Just for girls! Maybe not as Christmas themed as could be

...As a nice alternative to chocolate advent calendars, this year my boyfriend got me a 'Belville Lego Calendar' instead. I secretly wanted the 'Lego Advent Calendar' but since my boyfriend had got that one we couldn't have the same one! I was quite a big Lego fan when I was younger, and still am! But I am not so familiar with the 'Belville' selection of Lego since it is still quite new. Belville is the same as normal Lego.. but for girls. So lots of pink, girly and glittery things! There is no flat shot, which leaves with only slice, top spin or lob - which is a bit disappointing. ...I was on Amazon recently and needed to buy an extra little something to make my order to over £5 so that I could get free delivery, I saw ?The Beano Annual 2009? for 97p so I decided to get it! I used to be in the Beano club when I was younger, and had a subscription to the Beano magazine. I have to say though that I haven?t read a beano in about 15 years! I was quite intrigued to see if Beano had changed at all since I had read it last. The annual is a hardback book, which is around A4 size. On the front cover is a picture of Dennis the Menace and Gnasher reeking havoc on Beano town, along with some Beano Town residents either cheering them on or booing.
