My wife and I went for 2 weeks in September 06, this was our first holiday without the kids, so it was like the honeymoon we never got. The average temperature was 88f and even at night it was still very warm **The Booking** We booked the self catering holiday with My Travel at a very good price, suppose it helps when my brother works for My Travel. ...My summer holiday of 2008 was spent in Fuerteventura and my hotel of choice was the Hotel Costa Caleta. The hotel is also known by its former name Hotel Ocean Costa Caleta. Address is Av. Alcalde Juan Ramón Soto Morales Caleta de Fuste Fuerteventura Spain Tel:+34-928547550 I'm not sure if the hotel offers any car parking facilities as I hadn't needed any. It's a 3 star rated hotel and is quite modern and situated quite centrally in the resort of Costa Caleta (or Caleta de Fuste, or Castillo as it is also known) Only a short 10-15 mins transfer time from the airport. It has over 300 rooms. It was built in 2005 so is still quite new. The hotel is only about 5-10 mins walk (5km) from the beach and the shops and parks are all nearby too. They do have internet facilities with 2 PC's in the lobby with pay to use internet...

Caleta Garden: family fun in Fuerteventura!

..., we met some of the other guests around the pool and discovered how much of a family hotel Caleta Garden is. It's actually a Thomson SuperFamily hotel which we didn't realise, but this was great as there were kids and teenagers of all ages to socialise with. Definitely a hotel for families, not young and lively or couples looking for peace and quiet! Upon exploring the area, we discovered we were abit of a walk away from the beach and port at Caleta de Fueste, but it was a pleasant walk still - lots of shops, restaurants and bars. The area was very relaxed and it was genuinely a nice resort to stay in; the beach even had its own chipmunks! Inside the hotel was a wide variety of entertainment on a night, always catering for the children until the late hours from during the daytime at the pool, to adult entertainment events at later...

...February 2009. Playa Caleta is rated a 4 star. Sunwing Travel advertises it as a Sunwing Club Exclusive...whatever that means? We would call it the ?Club Torture? The hotel has a spacious, open-concept lobby on two levels. The lobby and the rest of the hotel are filled with cigarette smoke. When we asked the front desk staff if there was any non-smoking public areas, they answered with giggles as they held their lit cigarettes below the counter. This is supposed to be a family hotel; if you or your children can survive the second-hand smoke that saturates everything, you will still have a family. Buses idled right in front of the open hotel entrance, filling the lobby with carbon monoxide. As we discovered, vehicles in Cuba have no exhaust standards. There are also challenges you have to complete so you can move on to the next level but you have a time limit so watch out!
