Advantages: Superb graphic, sound and gameplay
Disadvantages: Rather short single player mode

...This is undoubtedly the best FPS on the ps3 console with amazing graphics, sound and gameplay. The surroundings are extremely realistic and the wide range of weapons is fantastic. Modern warfare is definitely the best in the series and the best war game on the market. Despite all of this praise, there are some minor flaws- the single player mode is very short and if you don't have online accessibility then your gameplay is extremely limited when you have completed the game. Also, the price is fairly steep as can be expected for a game of this quality but i managed to get it pre-owned in great condition for £28- bargain! Overall though, this game is the top FPS on the console and is an absolute definite purchase not only for fans of the genre but all ps3 owners!... Read review

...I pre-ordered call of duty 4: modern warfare on play.com months ago for the price of £39.99. When i got my e-mail saying it had been posted, i couldn't wait for it to arrive. I was not dissapointed. The graphics and sound effects are exceptional, and i have always been a fan of the call of duty series. I might even goe as far to say that up to now this is my favourite 360 game. Call of Duty is usually centred around World War 2. The most recent installment of the series is set around a terrorist plot, and the missions switch between the middle east and the former Soviet Union. When you start the game, you begin as the SAS. It is a joint effort though. Some missions are performed by the SAS, the others are performed by the US marine corps. Something that always strikes me... Read review

...Call of duty 4 takes you from the "classical second world war II series" until the modern experience that enhances new sorts of weapons, improved Artificial Inteligence and a gripping story mode that has stunning graphics. The online capability is very good and straightforward however there are some connection loss at some points which does get a bit annoying when it happens often but apart from that the game is very good with extensive use of weapons, enemies and overall a very interesting online mode that will keep even the best gamers intense. ...Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare, Quite possibly the best xbox game ever I have been a big fan of the call of duty series for many years now. My quest started out with the original Call of Duty on my PC followed by Call of Duty 2, once again on my PC then guess what Call of duty 3 was released which meant I was forced to go buy an Xbox to play it on as it was not released for the PC platform. How annoyed was I, well i thought about boycotting the game for a whole 20 seconds anyway. First person shooters are my favourite genere of game and this latest edition from Infinity Ward does not disappoint at all. You play as the SAS and the US Marine corp and the game is based around a terrorist plot in the USSR and the Middle East. After being used to world war weapons for many years it is a nice change to have some modern weapons to play with... Read review

...This game, what shall i say. The best game in 2007, without a doubt. Cally of duty 4 boasts stunning graphics, gameplay; in fact, it is stunning in EVERY department. It excels, in detail of players, graphics, online play the main feature. The campaign is very entertaining, but if you like campaigns you may wish to consider buying a different shooter, because this campaign, although while it lasts it is amazing, is slightly too short. You play as a person called SOAP, which is an interesting name, and you are teamed with a squad throughout the campaign. Online play is absolutley magnificent! To go through the levels it takes a few weeks, but this keeps you entertained and you can do the levels up to 10 times (prestige). Occasionally, depending on others connections, you may experience lag and annyoing messages... Read review

Advantages: If you love the CoD games, heres another one for you to play.
Disadvantages: Just like the other CoD games, many little issues (considering its a modern game)

...While in production, Call of Duty 4 looked very impressive! I have played this game enough to realise now, that it harbours many tacky little features that pretty much prevent me from enjoying it! I'm not saying that Call of Duty 4 is a bad game at all, its just isn't next generation and doesn't offer any new technological features to the gaming industry. Here are a few of the irritating things I have noticed in CoD4: On the harder settings, the game will spawn enemy grenades near you, to flush you out of cover - even if you are in a perfectly safe place, or there aren't any enemies close enough or alive enough, to throw grenades (you know what I mean). The animations, aren't great. Kinda the typical CoD standard of animation. There doesn't appear to be any real ragdoll physics on NPCs / bodies. The game itself is entirely... Read review
