Shopaholic Abroad

Advantages: Easy read
Disadvantages: Can be predictable in places

...I bought Shopaholic Abroad by Sophie Kinsella for a 6 hour flight to New York (which is very fitting for the book) and I could not put it down. This book is very funny, cleverly written and easy to read (which is what I like on any journey). I feel the character Rebecca Bloomwood is very realistic and believable, as I know someone who is very like her. Sophie Kinsella describes in detail the feelings Rebecca has when she goes shopping and I can really relate to her as I know I have had those feeling myself when I go shopping. I think we all have a little bit of the Rebecca Bloomwood inside us all especially when we have bought something on impulse and when we have got home we don't know why on earth we have bought it. We all have our little moments when it comes to shopping, that feeling when we walk into a department store...

LIVING ABROAD.

Advantages: Quality of life.
Disadvantages: It is a must to learn the language

...little gestures like at Christmas when I call on all the old aged pensioners in the village and give them home made truffles. I have more time on my hands and can give them part of me, which I enjoy very much. Onto healthcare. Yes, the healthcare here is good, but you really do need a good working knowledge of the French language to get the full benefits. I met a lady here the other day who is in her 60s and has cancer, and the hospital scared the life out of her simply because she could not speak the language. I have been in the delivery room for a lady who could not understand what the midwife said to her, and many times with people who were unable to communicate because of their lack of language skills, rather than their lack of trying. All in all, my experience of living abroad has been wonderful. I had my first short story...

shopaholic abroad

Advantages: brilliant laugh out loud read
Disadvantages: none

...I brought this book last year as a holiday read after having been recommended it by a friend of mine. From the moment I started reading I was hooked and could not put it down. Shopaholic abroad has a very witty story line following a shopaholic called Rebecca Bloomwood. Despite offering daily financial advise to the public on a daytime television show Rebecca finds herself in desperate financial difficulty due to her love of designer brands. To make matters worse Rebecca moves to New York to follow her boyfriend Lukes career. This opens up a new world of retail possobilities which only contributes to her already frightening financial situation. This book is a wonderfully exciting read, it had me laughing out loud in places and Rebecca is a fantastic leading character whom it is easy to relate to. I would definately anyone who...

Woman Abroad, A Really Good Read

Advantages: Well Produced. Good Articles. Well Illustrated
Disadvantages: Coverage is specialised.

...Woman Abroad magazine is published by Postmark Publishing Ltd, 1 Portsmouth Road, Guildford, Surrey,England GU2 4YB and is available on subscription which also encompasses mailing to any address worldwide as well as access to a wide range of discounts and benefits. You can find subscription details at their website This innovative magazine ,first published just six months ago, billls itself as “… The magazine for women on the move.” You do not have to be a woman nor an expatriate to appreciate this excellent publication. I have now read four separate issues and found it to be a really good read and the standard of writing in this publication ,edited by Joanna Parfitt, is very high. They do incidentally welcome contributions from freelancers and their writer’s guidelines are shown on their website...

Call abroad for less

Advantages: the service is good
Disadvantages: international tariff could have better price

...What I do have to say about BT is only and just one thing, they do not have good tariff even if you sign up for their special plans as like friends and family, etc...The service is good enough, but when we talk about the tariff I find that they could do better. I have BT as my home phone line and I would like to have the same quality of the service as I have now but for less, because I do know that some companies have better pricing list. The question is...why BT don't do the same? So because I have to call abroad several times per year, my conclusion was...I need to sign up with another company to have a better deal but not loosing my main line -BT. All I wanted is pay as I use, not needing to sign a contract, or change nothing. To compare prices I went first to BT homepage, www.bthome.com, and I was using the same country just...

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Advantages: online multiplayer
Disadvantages: it has a relativly short campaign

...this game is the best 1st person shooter ive ever played on,its very addictive due to the game being having such good gameplay which really keeps you stuck to the screen. The campaign has many more features which are incredibly cool. The same characters as Call of Duty 4 gives the gamer a close relationship with the character as you think you know them. One of the best features of this game is defiantly the online multiplaye. Its even more addictive than call of duty 4 and 5. there are so many new features in the new multiplayer including kill streaks and death streaks, which are brilliant .This game is for all online gamers from 'noobs' to 'pros', and its defiantly worth getting this christmas...

Carry On Abroad

Advantages: pure brilliance
Disadvantages: none

...Carry On Abroad is my favourite of the Carry On films, it is excellent, classic lines & wonderful scenes from start to finish. The plot revolves around a coach load of British tourists going off on holiday abroad, only to find the so-called luxury hotel is actually still under construction. The regular cast are back again - Sid James & Joan Sims as a married couple, with Sid having an eye for the ladies, as always, particularly Barbara Windsor. Kenneth Williams is the snooty organiser, rallying the holidaymakers in a vain attempt to enjoy their trip, despite appalling weather & a string of unforseen calamities. Kenneth Connor & June Whitfield are another married couple, who are also outstanding. Bernard Bresslaw is a reluctant monk, with an eye for the women. Charles Hawtrey is a drunk. Then, Hattie Jacques & Peter Butterworth are...

==Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay==

Advantages: Compared to the first modern warfare they have added driving in the story and its more detailed.
Disadvantages: To be honest, besides a few environmental graphics, it looks to be the shooter of the decade.

...Call of Duty Modern warfare 2 looks amazing if you?re a halo freak you will fall in love with this first person shooter. It's very detailed. They even switched the map to the screen on your gun unlike any game I have seen before. As far as if you just want to buy the game, and not go online to play, the story line features are so much better. You can even drive on this epic 1st person shooter. The disadvantages to this game as far as I can see are only a few visual slumps like every once in awhile a car will not look as realistic but everything else is wonderful. If you?re looking for a gift for a gamer or just want to try an epic 1st person shooter then this is the game for you....

Review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360)

Call of Duty modern warfare 2 Worth it???

Advantages: Brilliant graphics, very good onine multiplayer, nice features added which orignal did not have.
Disadvantages: quite a complex storyline

...The most eagerly anticipated game of the year, possibly even the decade. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a first person shooter available on the most popular games consoles. Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. the game is rated 18 and for good reason. Many scenes throughout the campaign mode of the game I personaly found quite disturbing, however this would not put me off buying the game. one level in particular where you pose as a terrorist, and with your gang walk around an Airport shooting civillians. you do however get the choice to skip this level when you load up the game. I would not recomend that you buy this game for your child, or anyone under the 18 year age recommendation. Despite the few disturbing levels you cannot deny the incredible graphics and gameplay that Activision have managed to create in the amzaing game...

Carry On Abroad

Advantages: The carry on cast at their best!
Disadvantages: So cheap to make they didn't finish the set!

...One of the funniest films in the series! Carry on Abroad (1972) starts with Vic Flange (Sid James) a local pub landlord planning to get away for a weekend break to the resort of Els Bels - his wife Cora (Joan Sims) - does not enjoy flying and so he is hoping to have time on his own with one of his "regulars" Sadie Tompkins (Barbara Windsor) - of course Joans Sims sees right through him and in the end decides to go along with him! The group gathers at the local travel agents for he start of the trip and a rather rag tag group is formed - included within are Kenneth Connor and June Whitfield as Mr and Mrs Stanley Blunt, Charles Hawtry as the Mummy's boy alcoholic Mr Tuttle, two young girls and a group of monks including Bernard Bresslaw. The group is led by the tour operator representative Stuart Farquhar (Kenneth Williams). All...
