Barcelo Cala Vinas a scenic place to please us?

Advantages: Immaculate hotel, great entertainment team, lovely location and superb food.
Disadvantages: Remoteish location, lacking room facilities and the damn bingo!

...We had been looking forward to our holiday to Mallorca for such a long time we thought it was never going to arrive. After a hard year full of ups and downs we were more than ready for the break and had built up the trip into something that had to be the perfect getaway. Of course, a vital part of our holiday would be how good the hotel was so it is with some trepidation that we arrived at the Barcelo Cala Vinas on June 14th 2008. Booked through Thomas Cook the Barcelo Cala Vinas is part of a chain. The hotel is situated in the quite and serene area of Cala Vinyes, Calvia. Somewhat off the beaten track, the hotel is situated twenty minutes walk from Magalluf and is just over an hour via coach transfer from Palma airport. Advantages: Right on the sea front, lots of activities, relaxing and sun!

Discover it

Advantages: Great touristic offer
Disadvantages: If you live in, sometimes you feel like in a prison of 80 kms.

..., if you prefer english people to be with, the villages of Magalluf, Portals, Calviá or Palmanova are plenty. Everybody speaks english there. At the capuccino café in Punta Portals you can take a real colombian coffee, and if you're lucky maybe you'd be near Claudia Schiffer or Michael Douglas... I swear that I've gone a couple of times, and I've never seen them... but... who knows? (bah, so much glamour for me, I'm quite normal). *** *** Best months to come are may/june/september/october. The other months are too hot or too cold to come, but it's your choice. Don't expect anyway to have a delicious weather, 'cause here the weather is real crazy, two days sunny, one day raining. Try to avoid the "Special offers" of 'all included'... often tourists that came with the 'all included' went back home unsatisfied with the services...

Saintly Santa Ponsa

Advantages: Rich in history, very friendly locals, wonderful scenery
Disadvantages: Mozzies, sewer, quite touristy

...I have visited Santa Ponsa over 10 times, since I was little and still enjoy going there. --Location-- Santa Ponsa is located on the south-western coast of Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands. It is located in Calvia, the municipality also home to the slightly more well known Magaluf and Palma Nova. It is roughly 11 miles (18km) from the capital of the island, Palma. --Getting There-- The Palma de Mallorca Airport is the only one of the island, 5 miles east of the capital. Flying from the South of the UK takes a short 2-3 hours. The staff at theairport are efficient, but more laid back than the staff in UK airports - by NO means are they not doing their job, but for example when we travelled to Palma last October we were practically expected to strip naked when we went through security at Birmingham, and in Palma only...

Mallorca - the Isle of Dreams

Advantages: there's so much to see, beautiful landscape
Disadvantages: none

The most important ones are Rancho Sebastian in C?an Picafort, Rancho Ses Roques in Cami del Puig, Eddi?s Ranch outside of Cala Ratjada, a riding school in Colonia de Sant Jordi, Escola d?Equitacio Son Menut and Es Pas in Calvia to name only a few. A perfect place for horse lovers would also be the old residence Predio Son Serra which is quite close to Muro and is owned by Germans. Motor sport is another one of the activities that people like to pursue on Mallorca. You got the option to try karting either in C?an Picafort, where I have been myself, or in Can Pastilla. Then again you can chose a bigger version which would be the one in Magaluf which is the most important one on the island and quite close to the ?Aquapark? that you might have heard of. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Now I want to give you a little information...
