...I?ve visited Camden several times now and it is certainly one of my favourite parts of London. Well first of all, where is Camden? It?s in northwest London and can be easily reached by tube or bus. If travelling by tube Camden Town is on the Northern Line (the black coloured line on a London Underground map). Buses run to Camden from most major points in London. With tube fares and bus fares being very cheap public transport is by far the best way of getting to Camden. I would strongly advice against going by car. There is little parking and traffic is also bad, Camden is also not the safest place in the world to leave your car. Camden is very famous for its markets, though don?t worry its not like the type of market that you see on EastEnders selling cheap and tacky clothes and ?a bag of grapes for a quid?. Holiday Inn Camden - quite nice

Advantages: Very cosy and in zone 2
Disadvantages: Not a very good surrounding area

...I stayed here for 2 nights in mid-Feb 2006. It is very easy to find the hotel. I followed the instructions given on the website to look for the hotel from the Camden tube station and it's about 3 minutes' walk. The hotel staff are all friendly but most (all I think) are not English. Anyway, this doesn't matter at all. My room was not big but everything that I needed was in the room (ironing board, work desk, big TV, hairdryer). They provide complimentary stuff like toothbrush but you have to call the reception to ask for it. They also have a few different types of pillows for you to choose from, which I think is quite good. My hotel rate (I heard it's £99 including breakfast - corporate rate - not sure because I didn't pay for it) included breakfast. Camden - just why it is so great

Advantages: cheap, good range of stuff
Disadvantages: hard for some people to get to

...I have only recently started going to Camden because it's quite far for me to travel but since I have started going there I am unable to stop its addictive. There are loads of great shops and market places to go and buy great clothes, accessories and music. Although now Camden is becoming more tourist occupied it is still brilliant to go to. It isn't expensive and you can buy hoodies for all your fav. bands they are easy to find. It is easy to get to Camden by travelling on the tube and everything that you need is right outside the station, including the electric ballroom which is a great venue for gigs. The first time I went was cool but it could have been better. We went quickly before we went to see Green Day perform. This meant that wer could not do any shopping because we would have nowhere to put it before the gig. However...

"LOCKED" INN . . .

Advantages: lovely rooms, great food, good location, easily accessible

...This week I stayed at the Holiday Inn Camden Lock for three nights while I was in London for work. My only previous trips to London have had me staying in the ExCel Novotel in Docklands so this was a new experience for me. LOCATION The hotel is located in Camden, next to (predictably!) Camden Lock. It is about a five minute walk from Camden Town tube station, which makes it fairly convenient if you?re having to use public transport to reach it. The website states that the hotel is also outwith the congestion zone, which I guess means you could drive down to the hotel and then use it as a base to get elsewhere using the tube or buses. ...Indian restaurants seem to have changed drastically in the last couple of decades. Although some may survive, gone are the curry houses with the red velvet flocked wall paper and the unnatural garishly coloured curries for more sophisticated, adventurous dishes and cleaner, more contemporary décor. My friend and I are very fond of Indian cuisine especially if they do some interesting vegetarian dishes. We've ate the length and breadth of London's curry houses from Wembley to Stratford including the compulsory visit to Brick Lane. ...Let me say straight off the bat that this is a review of Camden in the daytime, from a shopping perspective. I know it has a nightlife and bars and pubs, but since I don't know how to catch a bullet in the shoulder, I'll leave the nightlife reviews to someone else. I bloody hate Camden. I was first taken there about 4 years ago, and I will admit, I was amazed. Not impressed. Impressive is when someone treks to the south pole. Amazing can be watching a space shuttle crash, which I think you'll agree is pretty horrific. Welcome to the Underworld

Advantages: Easy and convenient to get to, intimate
Disadvantages: A bit small

...The Camden Underworld is a fairly small, intimate gig venue situated under the World's End pub in Camden. No.1 - How to get there! It really is easy to find the place. Once in London, travel to Camden Town tube station on the Northern Line and take the left exit out of the station (don't stare at the shouty drunks). The World's End pub is just across the road. Cross the road and adjacent to the pub entrance you should see the entrance to the Underworld itself, with an archetypal cramped ticket booth next to it. You make your way downstairs and there you are, you're in the venue. The fact that the World's End is literally just on top of it makes it even more convenient, as there is usually plenty of space in this large pub to sit and relax for a couple of hours before the gig.   Fitness First - if you can find the space

Advantages: Good cardio and classes...
Disadvantages: but the weights area leaves a lot to be desired

...of them will only let you use the Camden gym (it being your home club). The membership covers access to the main gym and to most of the classes (some are private and you pay the instructor). I decided to go for the 3 month membership in case I didn't like it. Signing up was easy enough, you just give your personal and bank details and they process it near enough immediately. I then had my photo taken and was given my membership card within a few minutes. I thought that my deal was pretty good at first as I didn't have to pay the usual £100 joining fee (although I did have to pay £30 which they said was an administration fee) and I got a backpack, a towel, headphones and a water bottle (not of the very best quality admittedly but still?).
