HP psc 1205 Multifunction Machine
Review of Hewlett-Packard 1205 by
jennifersdad
Advantages: Compact, cheap,easy
Disadvantages: Bit noisey, no USB cable supplied
...The machine was bought for a small home office, and to serve as the main printer / scanner for home use.
Initially I had problems with smudging on the printer output, but HP quickly changed the unit with the minimum fuss and the replacement has performed without problems.
The unit is small and compact, ideal for home or small office use, and has a neat, stylish look.
There were very clear instructions; although the unit was so simple to set up I did not need them. The lack of a USB cable would of been annoying, if I had not had a spare from a digital camera.
The unit is relatively noisy compared to some printers but was quieter than my old printer that it was replacing.
I have not yet got a firm idea of running costs, but the original cartridge is still going strong after 4 months of light office use.
In conclusion this is a neat...

My second digital camera experience
Review of Nikon Coolpix 4300 by
BuzzCT
Advantages: Easy to use, takes other lenses
Disadvantages: Viewfinder can be hard to use
...I was very happy with the Hewlett-Packard 2.1 digital camera which I had for several years. It was very easy to use, and took pictures which were acceptable in photo quality, though not outstanding.
However, I took early retirement from education last year, and began to work in real estate as a part-time endevour. When I got my first listing I realized that my trusty H-P would be no good for taking pictures of the interiors of homes, so I started shopping.
I went to several photography shops, as well as discounters, and was surprised that there weren't very many digital cameras in my price range which were adaptable to wide-angle lenses. But the Nikon 4300 was, and it happened to be on a special sale from the factory - so I bought it directly from Nikon. There was a shortage of the wide-angle lenses, so it took a few weeks to track...

Maybe I was unlucky with this printer
Review of Hewlett-Packard 2115 by
Cheekie-Chappie
Advantages: Easy setup, Idiot-proof
Disadvantages: Problems with quality
...I really wanted this product to be good. It cost £200, and by the time you throw in a cable, glossy paper (for photo-printing) and a spare ink cartridge, I was £250 lighter.
Alas, after hours of frustration, and calls to the HP technical helpline (who would be better off giving advice on HP sauce, rather than Hewlett-Packard). I had to take it back for a refund.
First of all the positives.... I agree with some of bluenose01's comments (also concerning this product). Yes it is easy to set up, and it's a dawdle to use.
Now the negatives...
1. The SIZE - it's not small and neat. Go into a Dixons and check it out... it's a behemoth, A LEVIATHAN!
2. The SCANNING software - I've used a few scanners in the past, and I like to be able to control the resolution. I want to be able to sacrifice quality for speed and a smaller file, or vice...

The HP PSC 2410 - High quality printer?
Review of Hewlett-Packard 2410 by
CE18
Advantages: Fast, Reliable, Colour screen, Relatively good quality, Built in card reader
Disadvantages: Didn't come with a USB cable, The thing to hold the paper in snapped off easily.
...The HP PSC 2410 is definitely worth the money. It has almost everything built in for quick and easy access.
Theres a scanner, for any purpose required. The scanner also doubles as a copier, which is extremely easy to use and etremely fast at producing B&W copies (You only have to push one button). Theres a built in card reader for fast printing from digital camera cards. The LCD screen is visible from quite a distance, but unfortunately is a bit low res. It makes up for it though by having a nifty little screen-saver! There is also a Fax machine function, I personaly have no use for that function, but I'm sure other people will have a use.
If you do buy this printer, make sure it comes with the correct USB wire to connect it to your computer. Unfortunately My printer didn't have the lead so required me to go out to pick one up...

Hewlett Packard PSC1350v multifunction device
Review of Hewlett-Packard 1350 by
positivereflect
Advantages: High Quality scanning, Fast Colour/Mono photocopying facility, Digital Media Capability, Fast printing
Disadvantages: Noisy, Ink cartridges expensive to replace
...Pondering over which new printer to buy, i saw this unit.
As i did not have a scanner (and could have done with one a few times) i decided to buy one of these units in the hope of using it to replace my printer.
After getting the unit home, i started going through the installation instructions. Pretty easy to follow, and within a few minutes of installing the software i was ready to go.
As i already had a digital camera with digital media, i decided to see what the pictures would look like when printed with this printer.
Using the photo quality paper that came with the unit, it gave some very good quality pictures, some of which have now been framed. The output on normal paper was also very good, although not quite as sharp as on the photo paper.
I then photocopied one of the pictures to see what the photocopy was like from the unit...

Flexible Friend
Review of Hewlett-Packard G55 by
jonball
Advantages: Super photo-quality printing, colour photocopying handy
Disadvantages: bulky and rather ugly, scanning software clunky
...I've got into digital photography - see my review of of my Nikon Coolpix 950 camera. That meant I needed a photo-quality printer. As I needed a scanner also, I went for the HP OfficeJet G55. The G55 isn't pretty for a domestic environment - it's like having a small office photocopier in the corner of the lounge - but the print quality is excellent, especially on expensive photo paper. For day-to-day printing I use Kodak 90gsm Bright White inkjet paper which gives much better results than flimsy photocopier paper but is a reasonable price per ream.
The thing that surprised me is that I use the device quite often as a photocopier. It happily copies documents in black and white or colour even if it is not connected to a computer - useful if you have a laptop. You wouldn't buy a home photocopier but if you have one it comes in handy...

HP Photosmart 2575 - Well worth it
Review of Hewlett-Packard 2575 All-in-One by
dougcam1
Advantages: Good quality, good price, easy to use/install
Disadvantages: Thirsty for ink
...standards, as well as a USB port, so getting the photos from phone or camera to PC is a dawdle. You can also view and print photos straight from the printer menu, without involving a computer, which again can be a big time saver.
The downsides are that it's quite thirsty for ink, and the cartridges, as you'd expect, don't come cheap. Also the software provided, while good, is very resource greedy, and some of it is overly complicated when Windows provides simpler basic software to perform the same task. The OCR software works well, and integration and output to with MS Word/ Adobe Acrobat couldn't be easier.
Installation is simple, the actual device connects to your USB port and should plug and play, and the software autoruns from the provided CD (both PC and Mac are catered for). Simple onscreen instructions allow quck and easy setup.
Overall...

All you photographic needs in one shop...
Review of Jessops (Shop) by
ia_young
Advantages: large range of new and second hand goods
Disadvantages: none
...When you think about photography you think about Kodak, when you think about purchasing a camera you think Jessops. Jessops is probably the only nationwide camera specialist left in the high street. This was the first place that I looked in when I wanted to by myself a new camera.
The first thing that you notice is the huge range of camera, video cameras and digital cameras that they stock. They also stock all the accessories that you would ever need from films, to carrying cases, to stands and for the specialist filters and lenses. I went in looking for a camera around £80 and the range did not disappoint me. Most of the new cameras this price were of the new APS (Advanced Photo System) type, which I didn’t want as I see that as a gimmick to sell more cameras. I ended up looking in the second hand range; I didn’t mind...

Excellent service
Review of electricalwarehouse.co.uk by
zoreff
Advantages: Fast efficient service
Disadvantages: None for this purchase
...I saw their advert in one of the Sunday papers so looked at their site. I wanted to buy a camcorder and was interested in their prices compared to other online shops and retail outlets.
I viewed all the camcorders and the site gave all the information I needed. The pages were quick to load and in no time at all I had ordered a Sony camcorder plus some accessories.
The order form was simple and easy to complete and I received a email conformation of my order. There were no hidden costs and delivery was within 3- 7 working days.
Two days later I got a phone call to say my order was ready to dispatch with the exception of one of the accessories - did I want to wait for the complete order or take what was available. Since it was only the camera bag that wasn't available, I told them to send the camera. I got it the next day....
