...I bought my Talex Lite from Tesco on a special offer. I had 6 points on my licence and getting quite paranoid about driving. My points were from just exceeding 30 mph in both cases and both local. It's so easy to be thinking of something else and allow your speed to creep into the forbidden zone. This unit is excellent - small and easy to fit on its magnetic mount - there are alternative mountings for the windscreen if required. You are advised to unplug and remove the unit if leaving the car unattended and this is easily done being small enough to slip in your pocket. I like its simplicity - the display gives speed when moving and time (taken from the satellite - there's nothing to set) when stationary. Carbon Monoxide Detectors

These discs are placed on the wall near gas appliances and a change in the colour will register whether carbon monoxide is apparent. I now live in the country, without gas but if I remember right the detectors last for 60 days and then have to be replaced. They also must not be placed near nappies or any cleaning products that could contain ammonia as this could affect the reading. This product though is no substitute for having your gas appliances tested professionally...

The perfect backpackers camera

...I purchased the original DMC-TZ1 when it first came onto the market a few years back and thought it was a great camera. But this one is even better! The 9.1mp makes for a good clear shot and the 12x optical zoom is amazing! Its the perfect camera for travelling - it can fit into your pocket or a going out bag ensuring you always have a camera to capture every moment. The zoom is the perfect added bonus. The only downside as I see it is the battery must be a specific type which isnt compatable with many other cameras. Having said that the battery is good quality and lasts for ages once charged. Because the battery is so specific to purchase a spare (which I would recommend for anyone travelling) isnt the cheapest....

Why I think, Speed cameras don't work

Advantages: Reduces speed temporarily, If used properly reduces accidents and deaths.
Disadvantages: Propaganda, Revenue raising, Being lied to and Targeted.

...Let me start my opinion by stating that I am employed in sales which requires me to drive many miles each week - usually around 2000 !! I have been driving since I was 17 (nine years) and I have never had any points on my licence or been involved in any accident. I consider myself an efficient driver, not faultless, but all the same experienced enough to have an opinion on the subject of speed cameras. Let me also state that I am 100% in favour of speed cameras in areas which need protecting like schools and pedestrian crossings for instance. The use of speed cameras in these areas as well as accident blackspots undoubtedly cuts down driver speeds and in turn cuts down the amount of injuries, deaths and accidents. No one in their right mind can argue against this issue and Police and driving groups are quite right to employ speed...
