...This is the first webcam I have ever owned, so it is difficult to compare it to others, however I am very pleased with the quality of this webcam. The video image is sharp and the "Rightlight" feature compensates extremely well with low light situations. Setup was striaghtforward, just a case of putting in the CD, loading the drivers, then plugging in the webcam. An automatic update facility is also provided to check for the latest drivers and utilities on the internet. The Logitech Quickcam software that is bundled with the device is very comprehensive, this automatically loads at startup although I understand from reading some forums that it uses a lot of system resources, even when the camera is not in use. I have disabled the software loading at startup as it is easily loaded either automatically by plugging in the USB webcam...

The Camera Case is black coloured throughout. The Case has the Vanguard's logo encased on the closing part of the Pouch. Great Camera (Lose the software)

Advantages: Simple to use, good Zoom function
Disadvantages: Kills Batteries, A bit Bulky, Software is aweful on PCs

...I got this for Christmas in 2003, it is my first digital camera. On opening the box, I unpacked the unit itself, a USB cable, a camcorder type cable for displaying photos on your TV and some CD Roms containing Kodak Shareware software. The camera is great, you don't need to know anything about photography to use it, just point and click really. If you hold the button half way down it'll even auto focus for you although this function can get confused when you are try to capture something too busy. I find 2 Megapixels is more than enough for my uses and the pictures are displayed on a good sized, clear screen which is enough to notice serious problems with focus or lighting etc. The buttons are pretty self explanitory and you can easily review and delete photos and short movie clips without much fuss. ...I purchased the original DMC-TZ1 when it first came onto the market a few years back and thought it was a great camera. But this one is even better! The 9.1mp makes for a good clear shot and the 12x optical zoom is amazing! Its the perfect camera for travelling - it can fit into your pocket or a going out bag ensuring you always have a camera to capture every moment. The zoom is the perfect added bonus. The only downside as I see it is the battery must be a specific type which isnt compatable with many other cameras. Having said that the battery is good quality and lasts for ages once charged. Because the battery is so specific to purchase a spare (which I would recommend for anyone travelling) isnt the cheapest....

Why I think, Speed cameras don't work

Advantages: Reduces speed temporarily, If used properly reduces accidents and deaths.
Disadvantages: Propaganda, Revenue raising, Being lied to and Targeted.

...Let me start my opinion by stating that I am employed in sales which requires me to drive many miles each week - usually around 2000 !! I have been driving since I was 17 (nine years) and I have never had any points on my licence or been involved in any accident. I consider myself an efficient driver, not faultless, but all the same experienced enough to have an opinion on the subject of speed cameras. Let me also state that I am 100% in favour of speed cameras in areas which need protecting like schools and pedestrian crossings for instance. The use of speed cameras in these areas as well as accident blackspots undoubtedly cuts down driver speeds and in turn cuts down the amount of injuries, deaths and accidents. No one in their right mind can argue against this issue and Police and driving groups are quite right to employ speed...
