Advantages: Gorgeous place, quiet, clean and friendly.
Disadvantages: The walk to the toilet!

.... The woman working at the time was helpful and friendly. The site is in three sections, two of which are caravan pitches, the orchard and the oaks. Where we would be is the tent area known as the meadow. We drove down to what we had expected to be just a field but were pleased to find a lovely grass area surrounded by trees and plants next to a hill covered in sheep. There was a section in the centre of the main part of what essentially was a field, with more trees in for cover and four picnic benches dotted around. There were only three other tents pitched so we decided to go to an area which had no tents and have peace. We pitched our tent under a huge oak tree which we later found out is the oldest oak in the area. It was by an embankment going down to the canal. Those with young children would probably not want to camp near there though...

Fangfoss Camp Site - One to avoid.

Advantages: Close to York and handy for park and ride
Disadvantages: Dirty, expensive

...Location Fangfoss camp site is located just outside York, to the east just off the A1079. The nearest village is Pocklington, which is about 4 miles away, and it?s about 10 minutes from the York park and ride car parks, which are about 10-15 minutes from York. Facilities The park has 75 pitches on hard or grass bases for caravans and tents, all of the pitches have electric hook ups. There is a block of toilets and showers, the website emphasises that the hot showers are free (although I would tend to think that it should be a given), and the lady?s shower area has a hairdryer point, whilst the men?s has a razor point, which seems a little sexist as I?m sure there are plenty of men who dry their hair with dryers nowadays. Camp

Advantages: Good story line, realistic characters, excellent show scenes
Disadvantages: High school musical is of a higher standard and more viewable

...I found this a quite an enjoyable film. Its not to be taken too seriously, its along similar lines to Fame, however in an American camp for gifted singers, actors, etc. The singing I found was very good for the most part - my favorite parts being the shows the children performed in the film. The realistic sideline story is very good also showing you a bit of an insight of what it is like to attend one of these summer camps. The love story aspect was quite good from all angles showing the complexity of relationships between heterosexual and gay relationships both from a friendship and dating angle. This is a film I would recommend to others, however I do have to admit it isn't up to the same standard as the recent High School Musical films, but none the less worth a peek. Nou Camp!

Advantages: great stadium, great team and an interseting tour - what more could you want!
Disadvantages: None

Lakeland camp site

Advantages: Good base for South Lakes
Disadvantages: Evening entertainment needs to be improved.

...groups of caravans and the planted areas are fenced off with chicken wire to stop you traipsing through all the caravans or even cutting through in the car and as the plants grow I can imagine you won't be able to see the chicken wire at all. The caravans are well spaced with ample space for parking between unlike some other sites we have been to where there are caravans that are literally on the car park itself with nowhere for sitting out. Why did we choose Lakeland - after much browsing around different holiday camps and indeed even different companies that offer the same type of holiday we all thought that Lakeland had more to offer that suited our needs and interests that other sites and these include:- A nine hole golf course - no need to bring your own you can hire clubs at the camp to use for the whole family and if you fancy...

  My Camp America experience

Advantages: Great Experience, Camps in great settings
Disadvantages: Money, Can have bad experiences....

...an offer! When I say offered a job though, you really have no choice in it, that's your job, as far as I know there was no option to reject the offer. I was emailed by the camp director, given a link to their website etc in order to check it out. And then sent a pack of forms and information in mid-April After that is all sorted out it is time to start the Visa process, Camp America is very good at this aspect, they send you lots of literature in the post about what to fill in, what you need etc and really guide you through it. You get your own web-page on the Camp America website which is where you deal with all transactions, questions, there are opportunities to email people at the office, find out information etc, and as far as this is concerned, I really cannot fault Camp America. The visa costs about £65, depending on exchange rate...

Camp Rock: WE ROCK!

Advantages: A good kids film to watch! :)
Disadvantages: Very predictable

Camp Nightmares

Advantages: So bad it's good
Disadvantages: It's still bad, though

...obviously escaped and took his revenge sporting a very familiar looking hockey mask. As well as being a complete rip off of Friday 13th it was diabolical in pretty much every sense of what makes a film. Despite it being so bad a sequel was commissioned and here we have Halloween Camp. The film takes place five years later and the camp that saw the deaths of many has opened up again and enjoyed a successful year. The camp counsellors and owner are the only ones left on the site ready to shut it up for the summer. Among those is Tracy (Katy Woodruff) whose brother was at the camp five years ago but his body never found. The legend of Trevor still lives on though most people think it?s just an urban legend. However it seems that Trevor is back and ready to dispatch some more horny counsellors after a series of grisly murders start to happen...
