...to have a peaceful holiday than to go camping, you arrive at a campsite, see everyone else's tent already set up and feel the pressure. Decide that your tent will be perfectly set up also and that your instructions on how to attain such perfection of tent erection are so right you don't have to look at the instructions. What then follows (if it all goes according to plan) is that the person you are travelling with has a strop and goes and sits in the car to save an act of violence from occurring on the first day of your holiday. You, feeling smug, finish putting up the tent (with a sneaky glimpse towards the instructions) make up with your partner who now gets out of the car and retire for the evening (regardless of your arrival time at the campsite, the light is normally fading by this point). Indoor Camping!

...Chad Valley Pop Up Play Tent........... Chad Valley is the Woolworth range of toys and toy related products. I purchased this tent a few months back now for Jack and even though the age range was 2 years and over he has lots of fun playing in it and even though he was only just over a year when I bought it we have had no problems with using it at this age. It was on special offer in Woolworth's for £5 which I think was around half the original selling price. This is a very good price as similar items in places such as the Early Learning Centre and Argos are priced at a lot higher. The tent itself is rather small and I cannot fit all of me into it (I can just pop half my body in it). Jack however is able to stand up so I guess it is around a meter in height. My Tent with Rooms

Advantages: Breathable fabric keeps cool in the heat and warm when it is cooler
Disadvantages: It is quite weighty and quite expensive

...I would just like to write a review on camping, from my own very many years worth of experience! If you have never been camping, then you don't quite know what you are missing - yet. Camping usually means spending up to two weeks in a tent that leaks, with another person who snores and so keeps you up all night - or a dog that also keeps you awake by farting and licking you all over the face all night. But there are some advantages to it, but I have yet to find out what they are! However, with all said here are some thoughts on both sides of the matter. Because I love it really! A bulky tent..perfect for camping when you have a car

Advantages: Cheap, good value for money, very waterproof and durable
Disadvantages: Heavy, bulky, quite small for two people

...I have this tent and I from ym own opinion I think that it is fantastic! Although when I initially bought it I thought that it would be a faff to put up because it would quite bulky The weight that it states on the packaging is about 4.3 kg which is a reasonable weight for such a cheap tent. I have never had to hike with it, but if you are walking with a small rucksack and the tent the load will not be too heavy, but it can seriously weigh down your rucksack. As well as being quite heavy it is quite bulky for the actual size of the tent (from experiences) I found it an absolute doodle to put up, three poles in the pins and it's up Also the really good thing is, is that you put the fly sheet up first so you can out your kit under it when it is raining. It has a reasonable sized porch which is big enough for my 65l rucksack...

Leadstone Camping - Great

Advantages: Quiet, pleasant staff, great place to get the children out and playing
Disadvantages: Hill up from the Warren (but catch the bus!)

...I think the other reviewers of this campsite must have had some strange concepts of what camping is about! Have used this site for a number of years (not exclusively - I camp at least 6 times a year). Only once have I had a problem with tent guys overlapping and that was because the person who pitched next to me had a monster of a tent and no idea how to pitch it so it didn't encroach. In fact, on many sites, they would have had to book 2 pitches. One reviewer complain about a party next door to the campsite - I was there at the time and the time - the property adjoining the site is NOTHING to do with the site. Andrew did his best to negotiate with the residents but they were unco-operative at the time - the police had to be called in the end. We, and anyone who asked, WERE reimbursed for that night. Review of The Tent - Margaret Atwood

The ups and downs of a family tent.

Advantages: Lots of space for everyone.
Disadvantages: No longer made.

...The Khyam Michigan 12 was only made in 2007 so can be hard to come by now. But if you are after a large, well set out tent, and you find one of these then grab it whilst you can. The tent is an outer pitch first, or all in one. Personally we leave the inners in place which reduces the pitching time. The tent itself is large and can be difficult and heavy to put up. Saying that I am under 5ft and have limited mobility so if me and hubby can put it up between us then I'm sure others could easily. We have reduced the pitching time to around 30 - 45 minutes now, which is not bad considering. One good thing though, is that although the tent is large it still fits on most pitches so no extra charges. The tent has 3 inners. All or some can be removed if wanted. The largest is 6 berth. This is used by our 4 children and is just big enough...

Camping- What a Carry On !!

Stirling is within easy driving distance, and boasts good shops and of course "Stirling Castle " which dominates the town with its sheer splendour. It is also associated with William Wallace and is certainly worth a visit. TARRIF: Caravans and Motor Homes range fro £10.50 to £16.00 per night. Tents range from £7.50for 2 man tent to £20.00 for a 10 man tent per night. The site is open from March - October. MY CONCLUSION: Joking aside this family run park is an ideal base for those wishing to see The Highlands.
