...Today I will review the fabulous book Candy by Kevin Brooks I enjoyed reading that book so much, I want to share my experience and present it to the world! Why did I read this book? My best friend recommended it to me - it's her favourite book. She handed me her copy (already ripped and torn because she takes it with her whenever she travels) and I started reading a few days later. Needless to say, I finished the book within 48 hours and was amazed. The cover of this book is also very nice, so I think I would have taken a closer look at it if I had seen it in a shop before. The plot A teen boy called Joe is the teller of this exciting story. He rides a train to London to see a doctor because he has a lump on his wrist. The doctor is a posh, private one, but Joe's father is rich and thus only sends his son to the best...

Review of Hard Candy - Madonna

Not all candy tastes sweet.

Advantages: good acting, fairly gripping
Disadvantages: a bit depressing, some people might be offended/squeamish!

...Candy was released in 2006 and tells the story of two young lovers, artist Candy and poet Dan, becoming more and more involved in drugs, in particular the use of heroin. Candy is played by Abbie Cornish (SOMERSAULT) and Dan by Heath Ledger (BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, A KNIGHT'S TALE). Before watching this movie I had not seen any of Abbie's previous work, but was always impressed by Heath's acting, and after his sad death by accidental overdose in January decided to catch up on some of his work I hadn't yet seen. The film is based on the novel Candy: A Novel of Love and Addiction by Luke Davies, which can be found from £4.83 on Amazon Marketplace or in good bookshops. I have yet to read the book but after watching the film I would be interested to see how similar the two are, it comes with excellent reviews. I cant comment...

I WANT CANDY

Advantages: Cheap, Energy Efficient, Variety of Wash Cycles, Activa Wash Cycle, Quiet
Disadvantages: Some Programmes Seem to take forever

...on the internet which met all three of these criteria was a Hoover machine which was available in store at Comet for £349.99 or on the internet for £299.99. However, the earliest delivery date for this particular machine via the internet was a further 10 days and given that we were now without a working machine and with two small children as well, that clearly was not an option. So I decided that I would go in store the next day and try and blag the internet deal if they had the particular machine in stock. So into Comet I went and low and behold they had the machine which I wanted which was available for £349.99. I tried to get the assistant to honour the internet price but to no avail, so on principal I opted to purchase another comparable machine if one was available. It was at this point that I was first introduced to the Candy Go 1682...

Sour Candy

Advantages: Great perfomance from Ellen Page, an intriguing thriller
Disadvantages: Doesn't quite live up to all the hype

...sticks in your mind. "Hard Candy" has been tagged by many as the most controversial thriller of the year. Though I wouldn't go so far as to place it among the top flight of thrillers, it is certainly intriguing. It turns the tables on the viewers and characters, teasing out a virtuoso performance from Ellen Page that should kickstart her movie career. However, the final few minutes are a tad anti-climactic and the film could have done with a firmer hand in the editing. With a few tweaks here and there it could have been a great film. As it stands it is merely a good one - but that's no bad thing....

Review of Hard Candy (DVD)

A little treat from the Candy Shop.

Advantages: A great product at a more than reasonable price.
Disadvantages: N/A

...I'd been wanting to try out E.L.F's make-up range for years, but hearing mixed reviews I kind of stayed away until last week when I had a bit of spare money and thought 'Oh heck, why not?' I spent a good 45 mins to an hour pouring over all the products and picking out a couple I really liked the look of. Their Candy Tins were actually the first thing I chose after being completely won over by the design on the tins. E.L.F E.L.F (Eyes, Lips, Face) is an American born brand where 'Beauty meets Value.' Over in the States all the products are priced at $1. Following a similar rule over here, all the products are priced at a tiny £1.50. (Although the new Studio range is £3.50 a pop) E.L.F have always prided themselves on having high quality yet low costing makeup, suitable for any age, any look and most importantly every purse...

Fancy Some Candy Rain Drops?

Advantages: Lots of bangers
Disadvantages: A couple of tracks let it down

..."Candy Rain" came in 1995 as the debut album from the R&B quartet, Soul for Real. Named after their biggest hit to date, you get them perfoming some of the best R&B of the time, but not really pickign up that much of a following apart from when their hit "Candy Rain" is brought back as a nineties R&B classic. The group are known for merging the softness of early New Edition, with the soulful nature of groups such as Jodeci. 1. "Candy Rain" This is simply a killer tune, and one which everyone should take a listen to as it is absoloutely flawless in displaying how strong they are at performing 'Hip Hop-Soul' (which is a kind of developmental stage of Neo-Soul). You get them sining a timeless love song to bring the Jackson 5-styled material to a more urban audience (as Boyz II Men and New Edition attempted before them). **Five Stars...

I wouldn't normally, but I had a reply to my product proposal for Candis the other day, just as I was in the middle of my Bella offering. However, they are different magazines with different styles, so I hope it's not too boring ! I started reading Candis about 4 years ago. A very nice elderly lady knocked on our front door and sold an issue to us. I don't normally buy things from door to door salespeople, but this lady wasn't your typical 'rep'. She explained about the magazine and about the Club, and let me have a look at it. It only cost around £2 back then, and so I decided to try it out. I paid my money, and she said that she'd be back next month to see if I wanted to buy the next issue. After reading it, I did buy the next issue, and have been buying it...

Candy come up trumps..

Advantages: Good quality, washes well at lower temperature.
Disadvantages: Detergent chamber prone to opening during wash

...Call me a Luddite, but up until November 2006, I had never owned a dishwasher. Being part of a couple, I hadn't found that our pots and pans were that demanding to keep on top of with a manual wash. On the occasions we had a few people round for dinner, I have to admit that the choice of i) Having another cold beer or ii) Scouring the pots by hand was an easy one to make, but that just meant a little more tough scrubbing and a squirt more Fairy the next morning. However, when we moved into a new house, the Candy CDI-1012 came as part of the package, safely concealed within the kitchen worktop. The Creamy Candy Bath Bubble Bar is exactly what it sounds like. A candy scented, creamy bubble bar to put in to the bath.
