Canon EOS 1DS 11.1 Megapixel Digital SLR
Review of Canon EOS 1Ds by
Orrr83
Advantages: Full Frame sensor, (Practically) Indestructable, Weatherproof, Clean Images
Disadvantages: Expensive, Heavy, Now superceded
...The 1Ds is built to take the worst a professional photographer can throw at it and more, and still keep on going. Physically the camera weighs around 1.5kg without a lens, being made out of magnesium alloy and steel, thats understandable, and like canons other EOS 1 series the camera is heavily waterproofed, speaking to a photographer once who once, accidently of course, dropped his 1Ds into a river, retrieved it immediatly he found his lens damaged, but the camera shrugged it off, no marks or water damage. But what really makes people excited about this camera is it's CMOS sensor, using less power than a CCD, battery life is excellent, around 600-700 images. At just over 11 Megapixels the camera's resolution is among the highest on the market, almost 4 times the resolution of Nikons D1. The physical size of the sensor is the same...

Does the business and keeps going.
Review of Canon EOS 1N HS by
Nige7Whit
Advantages: Top quality and reliable with superb ergonomics.
Disadvantages: Solid construction means it is a little heavy.
...than polycarbonate), means that the camera will last for years more.
Downside to the solid build is the weight, which is about 1.8kg when the booster pack is added. In honety, the weight is not a big factor if one is prepared to accept some limitations for the sake of function and reliability.
At the time of it's introduction, this was the top of the range Pro camera, and had features such as enhanced water resistance, and a shutter unit rated to 100,000 cycles or more (that's a lot of film!).
There have been Canon models since that have surpassed the EOS1n in terms of performance (as the 1n improved upon the original EOS1), the EOS1 V being the latest top end film camera, and the EOS 1Ds the top end digital body (at a cost of approx £7000 on release), but the EOS 1 concept, as the top end, pro specification flagship is still valid...

Canon BJI 6500-This is one useful REVIEW!

Advantages: Quality is outstanding!
Disadvantages: A3 paper may be taken in angled (1 in 10 chances - for me)

*Warranty
Like a typical printer the warranty varies between 1 to 2 years. I believe you can extend your warranty with Canon if you fill out a registration card.
*Software that comes with it
This is just a list of the applications that the canon comes with, however I will explain briefly what each of them is used for later on in the review.
Web-Print
Photo-Print
Many Drivers are given for the printer (Example: Two Cds with totally different Operating Systems drivers I.e. Mac and Windows.
How to set up the Printer?
-----------------------------------------
After you’ve unpacked your printer and put it in an ideal accessible place then you’re ready to go.
You may connect the power cable up to the printer; the busy self test should begin. Don’t be frightened when the lights start blinking it...

A slightly less explosive Canon.
Review of Canon EOS 1000D by
thebigc1690
Advantages: Typically good Canon images.
Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.
...to have that at your finger tips. Of all of these things the only one that can't be rectified is the flimsy issue because you can of course buy any lens you choose and also change the flash to a flash unit but the problem with that is then you are spending big and the whole point of a entry level DSLR is to cut cost, if you want to spend big just buy a higher spec unit in the first place.

Canon i850 Printer
Review of Canon i 850 by
Dave_UK
Advantages: Fast, quiet, economical and fantastic quality.
Disadvantages: none (that I know of)
...I purchased this printer several months ago, and have been extremely pleased with its performance ever since. I looked at the various offerings from HP, Epson and Lexmark as well, and decided upon the Canon i850 as the perfect choice.
I was looking for an all-round printer, that could cope with a small-business workload (I have plenty of college work to do, and my mum is an Avon Team Leader) without costing the earth in consumables. I also wanted to print photos, so printing quality was a serious consideration, and not just the cost to run the machine.
Overview
**************
As far as all-rounders go, this printer is amazing. It is designed primarily as a medium-high volume/small business printer. I feel that, compared to its rivals from the Epson and HP camps, it is the best all-rounder by far.
After much researching, I...

The Canon PIXMA IP1800 and the end of the world
Review of Canon PIXMA IP1800 by
FlameDruid
Advantages: Cheap and replaceable. Attractive and efficient technology.
Disadvantages: Ink costs more than the machine. Potential ecological mayhem.
...computer because I just pulled my existing one out of the Canon PIXMA IP1600 and stuck it in the Canon PIXMA IP1800. If you are buying one from scratch, of course, it might matter to you as you'll have to pay for a USB lead.
Technical things like: "4,800x1,200dpi" don't mean a lot to me. That's how many dots per inch it can do. A photo looks like a photo - that's all that matters for my purposes. A review I was looking at just now thought it was quite a slow printer. It takes a couple of minutes for an A4 print of a picture. Is that a long time? I'm not a newspaper or a magazine publisher on a deadline. I used to take my Brownie to the chemist and they took days to print my tiny, blurred, monochrome snaps. I can live with two minutes for a clear-as-a-bell A4 colour picture, thanks very much.
Many of these factors, information...

Cannon Hall, South Yorkshire
Review of Cannon Hall, Barnsley by
micksheff
Advantages: Free, lots of history
Disadvantages: None for me
...I am often amazed just how many major attractions there are within my local area that I have yet to visit and until very recently Cannon Hall, near Barnsley in South Yorkshire was one such example of a place.
Cannon Hall is a grand country mansion that is located on the edge of the picturesque village of Cawthorne. Cawthorne lies approximately seven kilometres to the east of Barnsley's town centre and is roughly halfway between junctions 37 and 38 of the M1 motorway. A bus that departs from the central interchange every 30 minutes serves Cawthorne if you are visiting by public transport, but it is then a good 10-15 minute walk from where the bus terminates to Cannon Hall itself. It is however a very pleasant walk that will take you past some of the most affluent houses in this part of Yorkshire, the sort of dwellings that even...

Canon EOS 350D - He He !!!
Review of Canon EOS 350D by
a4angus
Advantages: Compact, fast, quality images
Disadvantages: Poor screen view in sunlight
...*******************
Canon EOS 350D
*******************
The time had come to bite the bullet and go completely digital. No, not me - just my camera. Out went film and folders. Out went my trusty old Canon EOS 50E, which had served me well for many years, and in came the latest toy.
Already having a Canon S9000 photo printer (prints A3 size photo poster prints) and another compact digital camera, I was geared up for the change. That, and it *was* a new toy
There were 2 incidents that made me want to switch:
(1) I returned from Hawaii a couple of years ago armed with 25 or so films ready for processing. After a £200+ Jessops bill to process, print and digitise these, just to see which ones I liked, it seemed like an expensive way to go forward.
(2) At my wedding last year, we engaged an excellent professional photographer...

Canon S2 Is, 5.0 million pixels Digital camera
Review of Canon PowerShot S2 IS by
blackbeard
Advantages: Easy to use. will take great looking pics for you, whatever your ability
Disadvantages: Bit pricey ,but value for money. smaller controls than standard SLR
..., when examining an image for noise, it to the average eye may be less apparent. However I personally found that the images produced with the Canon showed less noise and therefore more clarity when magnified than similar cameras I looked at.
After looking at many cameras I reduced my choice down to three cameras. The Sony Cyber-shot H1, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 both of which are excellent cameras and the Canon Powershot S2 Is. All of these cameras are very close in many areas and this made it difficult in making a specific choice, but I felt the Canon won on image sharpness. This is not to say that I believe others would be disappointed by the images produced by the other two cameras mentioned, far from it, and this strengthens my choice even further in choosing the Powershot over the other two.

Canon do it again
Review of Canon MP370 by
TheCoopster
Advantages: Excellent Print Quality, Cheap ink Cartridges, Canon Customer Service
Disadvantages: Size
...'s then plump for this model, otherwise save yourself 30 quid and go for the MP360, which is identical apart from the card reader and Pictbridge compatibility. Personally I wouldn't pay any more for an all in one unless you need the addition of a fax machine, and lets face it. If you're on the internet you've got one right in front of you in the shape of a PC anyway!!
2/1/2007 - Just have to add this update because the customer service provided by Canon quite frankly astounded me. I've been using this printer for some time now, as you can see from the original date of the review. Just before Christmas I started having problems with the printer, which didn't disappoint me too much because it has daily (what I would class as heavy) use and has done for over 2 years now. I phoned the Canon support line for some advice and they arranged...
