...I love this camera. It takes beautiful photos, even using the kit lens, and it is available at a bargain price. I chose this camera over others in it's price range (Nikon D50, Konica Minolta 5D etc) because I felt it produced the best results and had the best compromise in features against the competiton. The 350D will focus instantly, even in a dark nightclub and will not mind the ocassional drink being spilt on it. Also Canon offer the largest range of lens over other manufacturers, so you should be able to find a lense for every occasion. The only bad points are that the plastic body feels a bit cheap at times, and your nails will leave white scratch marks on the body; and the body is quite small and unless you pay for the extra battery grip (which makes a huge difference) some people may find the 350D uncomfortable to use. Disadvantages: Doesn't have a sensor cleaner like the 400D

...The Canon 350D is an excellent Digital SLR for semi pro use. Which is exactly what I use it for. It has a small 1.8 inch screen for preview but boasts an 8 megapixel resolution. Its very easy to use and is compatible with most accessories. I personally have a Canon Speedlite for it, I also have an infra red trigger for studio photography that works great and use interchangeable lenses that also work great. The battery life is good on the Canon 350D as long as you charge it well. I've done a full day's shoot with this camera (around 6-8 hours) and had no problems with battery life. I would advise taking spares though anyway. If using flash, then take lots of spare batteries or purchase a battery pack to make the battery life longer. The settings are very simple to use. Advantages: Fast, Fun, Freakishly Easy to Use

...I has been waiting for a long time for SLR camera from Canon until Canon EOS 400D was introducing. After series of EOS 350D, I think canon will improve its SLR camera to be a best one. My curios of 400D must be satisfied with to try this camera lot. Advantages How I am surprises when I knew this SLR have 10.1 mega pixels, in my feeling this SLR will be a king in SLR. A newbie of digital camera, certainly first time read a specification and of course 10.1 mega pixels will be an attraction to buy it. Buying SLR canon can be separately with its lens, so there is alternative for byers want to buy body only or with its default lens. It make benefit for a byers who has many lens. ...Very good camera. Definatly worth a thought rather than its big brother 400D. I chose this over the 400D and i'm glad I did. The extra money I had left from my budget means I can spend it on things like a tripod, filters, bags..etc. Build quality is good and the camera itself is easy to use. However the only thing I can think of that lets it down is the build quality and standard of the kit lens. The optics provided let the camera down alot, and really limit what you can do. Coupled with a professional lens from Canon this camera has the capability to take professional standard photography. Well worth a thought for the budding amateur or the professional looking for a spare toy to play with!... Read review

...I have owned a couple of digital cameras before investing in the Canon EOS 350D SLR. The biggest gripe I had with the other cameras was that the battery life was poor and indoors or night shots were often blurred. Also many of these smaller cameras take ages to take the picture once you hit the button. At over £600 I would have been very annoyed if these issues were repeated with the Canon - I needn't have worried as the Canon takes fantastic photos inside or out, day or night and takes the picture when you hit the button! The rapid fire function is also a nice feature. This camera is feature packed (check out canon website for all the technical jargon), but generally we use just 2 or 3 of the auto settings and point and shoot. If you have photography skills (I don't!) then you can set the camera to be fully manual, to my eyes... Read review

...The 350D is almost the perfect camera for the money but it has some irritating flaws which can be a little irritating The absence of a Spot Metering option is a bit of a mystery as this is standard in smaller and cheaper models. It can be overcome but it is a specification flaw that canon should address. The design of the sensor means that lens focal lengths have to be multiplied X 1.6. This is only a serious issue if you are an exponent of wide angle shots. Not withstanding the above the most irritating issue is the position of the shutter option button. It sequentially selects single shot, multiple shot and timer. Unfortunately it is positioned just where my thumb rests even when using the Battery Grip. I have missed a few shots by accidentally setting the camera on timer mode. Even when familiar with this problem it takes a few... Read review
