Disadvantages: No longer made!

.... We had already decided that, if we bought one we would stick with the Canon brand. We like it best for digital cameras in general, we trust the name, and my husband - a stickler for high quality - approves of the lenses. We wanted to film our son at work, to show family and friends at home, and were sure that other opportunities for use would crop up... so we decided to buy one, and set ourselves...
