...Canon are very well know for there cameras and always produce very good products. This is no exception and comes with lots of features. It is a 7.1 megapixel digital camera which means the pictures that it takes are very, very good quality. Personally I think that 5 megapixels is enough for taking photos but if you are planning on doing a lot of editing and zooming in on certain parts of photos then maybe 6 or 7 megapixels is more what you are after. This fits into the second category there so if you are looking to take photos to edit and want a well know name for a camera then this could be a good option for you. It has a new technology for taking photos of people and can detect and face on the screen and set itself up so you will get the best possible picture, I will go into more detail for this later on. Canon IXUS 95 IS: The best amateur digital camera on the market

Advantages: Very high quality pictures for both print and web work.
Disadvantages: The bundled software that comes with it has a very Fisherprice feel about it.

Advantages: Compact size, lots of features and well designed
Disadvantages: Manual mode sometimes blurry

...I found this camera to be a great little device with excellent picture quality. It is well designed with a 3x optical zoom lense large 2.5" lcd display as well as an optical viewfinder to conserve battery, the body is metal which i have found to be quite robust and the only protrusions being the combined shutter/zoom buttons and the camera strap. Although it is small it is of high quality and comes with loads of features including colour accent/ swap, portrait mode, macro mode aand many preset light conditions (indoor,snow fireworks etc), it also has an automatic face detect function which i have found useful for group photo's as it chooses the best focus settings for the group. The camera has all the usual features, red eye reduction, flash, white balance, and it also has some very nifty features for those who want to be a bit more experimental in their photography, including colour selector which lets you pick out a colour say a blue eye colour using your LCD display and then takes the picture in black and white except for the blue. So glad to be back to a Canon!

Advantages: Small, tough, simple and fast to use
Disadvantages: A little expensive

...the tough life that it will experience until I lose it somewhere. The lens is motorised and emerges from the camera when it is switched on. I think there has been a trend in small camera to avoid a protruding lens, it would certainly save on space. With the lens situated towards the centre of the camera and not the corner I'm pleased that I'm no longer taking photos of my finger holding the corner of the camera :-) Theres the standard tripod screw at the bottom of the case if you want to attach it to a tripod. The battery charger is seperate and the camera takes a NB-4L Canon battery if you have one to recycle from an old camera. The charger is small thankfully. Specs I said this wasn't a techie review and please mark me down if you're finding it useless as a result, I'm just trying to give an honest opinion on how I'm finding using...

Canon Digital IXUS 80 IS -nice little camera

Disadvantages: Can't really think of anything

JPEGs are done at approximately 2-5 MB closed and 22.9 MB open. The maximum speed is 1.3 frames per second. The IXUS 80 comes with an optical viewfinder, which offers a real image zoom view. The 2.5 inch LCD screen is just perfect for any arm-length shoots. Furthermore you get Face Detection Technology Red-Eye Correction,18 Shooting Modes, Creative movie options Battery The battery is very reliable. It did not cause me any problems. Overall this is a nice little camera for the right price. It does last a while, looks nice and has everything you need as a hobby photograper....
