Review of Canon EOS 500D

Good and reliable printer!

Advantages: portability, easy to use, good colour
Disadvantages: high ink cost

...This printer is intended to be a portable. Created to be carried around with your notebook computer. But what is amasing there is no compramise on performance. It has steady 5 ppm in black and 2.5 ppm in colour. It has unique to Canon "Bubble Colour Jet" mechanism which produses crisp and rich in color pictures. the printer comes with well written manual and good set of drivers which allow you to access even more advanced features. This printer can be installed with specially manufactured scanner head which transferes the printer into full scale scanner. The only drawback is ink cost. Because the printer is small so is the ink cartridges, but the cost is quite high....

...Hey ho. How surreal to be reviewing ink. Does anyone else do this? Why am I sitting here at 10 o\'clock at night reviewing an ink cartridge? Do I love it? No. Err.......have I had an unusual and vaguely witty experience with this cartridge? Not really. Great ink, not so great price

Advantages: Easy to fit, built in LED warning light
Disadvantages: Expensive for 13ml capacity and is chipped

THINK INK!

Advantages: Easily obtainable, good value, recyclable.
Disadvantages: Really just the idea of it not being a genuine new original!

...asked and got a refund! I WENT TO TESCO! Being out of ink, and having sent the replacements back, I needed ink badly; I couldn't print off any of my holiday snaps to bore colleagues with at work! A speedy trip to Tesco followed, just to see what they sold and I was amazed! New ink cartridges in many well known brands, and their own remanufactured cartridges lined a back wall. CHOOSING YOUR INK: Tesco provide a laminated flip paged book showing many makes and models of printers they can supply ink for. Review of Tesco Remanufactered Ink Cartridges

Miami Ink!

Advantages: Interesting to watch, loads of cool tattoos to look at

...Miami Ink, if you haven't heard about it already, is a TV show about a tattoo parlour in Miami (if you hadn't already guessed!). The series began in July 2005, introducing four eager tattooists, Ami James, Chris Nunez, Chris Garver and Darren Brass, as well as Ami's apprentice, Yoji Harada. Throughout the episodes new tattooists enter and go, the most famous probably being Kat Von D who turned the studio around with her beautiful portrait tattoos. Each show lasts about an hour long, and during that time we see a variety of clients enter the studio to get their tattoos. The guys who run/work in the studio are all fairly young, heavily tattooed and have been through different walks of life. Most of them have spent their lives tattooing, so working in the shop you can tell means a lot to them. Each artist has a different personality...

Review of Miami Ink - Series 1 - Complete (Box Set) (DVD)

Canon or a Brother ?

Advantages: Good print Quality
Disadvantages: Cartridge prices

...This review is for the Canon Pixma IP4700. Setup --------- This printer comes inside a box which is heavily packaged and first off all you get the power cable. The cable is wrapped with this tie back but the problem is that when you unwind the cable you notice how it wants to try and curl back up again so you do need to try and straighten it out as soon as you can. You receive the disc which has the drivers on which you need to install on the computer otherwise you have no way of printing items off without it. There is nothing else inside the box besides the cartridges which are easy to insert and use. The disc is good because it is so simple to install the items onto the computer and this takes about a minute to do. You do not get a connection to the computer though so you do need to purchase one yourself and many websites...

Review of Canon PIXMA iP4700

A slightly less explosive Canon.

Advantages: Typically good Canon images.
Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.

...Canon along with Nikon have for years been known as the kings of camera`s but with things changing rapidly in the DSLR market Canon had to think fast. All of Canons recent releases have been at the expensive end of the market and they have been rapidly losing ground to the likes of Nikon and the new kids on the block (Sony). The release of the Canon EOS 1000D in June this year (2008)was an attempt to get back in the entry level market and whilst I think it should have the desired effect I am still not convinced they have done enough to tempt people away from the less expensive Sony option. Many people myself included thought that the new Canon would just be a fresher version of the Canon EOS 400D and the only stand out feature available on this 1000D that the 400 did not offer was a live view, so were Canon trying to pull the wool...

Canon S9000 - ink it great!

Advantages: Up to A3 (large) print size; Fast; Superb Results
Disadvantages: Small ink tanks

What were my needs? ------------------------------- - An A3 (wide format) printer to be able to self-print mini-poster size pictures - Separate ink tanks (to reduce running costs) - High quality - need this at A3 paper size (=double A4 size) - Quiet - Resonably priced - Able to reproduce a 4 megapixel digital image at A3 in photo quality output Source ---------- In order to get the best price, I sourced this from France via Nomatica. Eventually it was shipped from Germany (the benefit of a pan-European market). There were delays in supply at the time but the price was at least £100 cheaper than the best UK source. At over £250 this was not a cheap printer, but at the time was top of the Canon bubble jet technology. What you Get...

...I have always been a big fan of Tattoo art work, and I often caught an odd episode here and there of Miami Ink on Discovery Real Time and quite enjoyed the show. Having only seen about 7 episodes of the TV show which were all from either season two or three, I decided to browse the internet to see if I could pick up a cheap season 1 box set on DVD, I was quite expecting to pay about £30-40 for the box set because there are 20 episodes in total for series one of Miami Ink. I was browsing the internet for the box set looking for the cheapest price available and found that Play.com was the cheapest by far. I only paid £12.99 for the box set which is almost three times cheaper than some other online retailers selling the Miami Ink box set as they were all priced well above £30.
