So glad to be back to a Canon!
Advantages: Small, tough, simple and fast to use
Disadvantages: A little expensive
...First of all let me explain that I'm actually reviewing the Canon IXY 210 IS. It's the exact same camera, but the name and model number are for the Japanese market.
Second of all let me mention that I only take photos to remember places I've been or nights out, I know nothing about photography and so will not attempt to explain anything technical. This review will compare with other cameras I have used, my experience is somewhat limited.
So, a little history. I first owned a little 2MP Sony camera, it was tiny and nice to look at and the photos weren't too bad. Later I upgraded to a lovely little Canon IXUS I, I got on with it very well and produced what I considered to be some decent photos. Then somebody stole by beloved little IXUS and I was forced to buy a new camera. What came next was some Konica Minolta dimage thing that I...

Canon Ixus 100 IS - Small and oh so stylish
Advantages: Small, Stylish, Auto modes work well, Image Stabilization
Disadvantages: HD Video capability is disappointing
...The Canon Ixus 100 IS is the successor to the Ixus 85 IS model, now with 12.1 megapixels instead of the old 10. The 2.5" screen is retained, as is the optical viewfinder and the 3x zoom capability, but the Ixus 100 IS is packed with new features.
Video can now be recorded in HD (720p format) and an HDMI port has been added for viewing your pics on the latest HD televisions. The 100 IS also gets a new DIGIC 4 processor, Autofocus Tracking and Auto Scene Detection!
The dimensions have changed in proportion, being a whole millimetre wider than its predecessor, another millimetre taller, but 2mm slimmer with an incredible depth of only 18.4mm. The weight stays about the same at less than 130g and, being similar in size to an iPod, it is very easy to carry around in your shirt pocket/handbag. Indeed, the similarity with the iPod doesn...

Canon Digital IXUS 80 IS -nice little camera
Advantages: Nice little pocket camera with all the necessary features
Disadvantages: Can't really think of anything
...I am not an expert on digital cameras and this is just the second one I bought. So I cannot really compare the Ixus 80 with other cameras. Nevertheless, I really like it.
Looks
The Lxus 80 comes in Classic Silver, Caramel, Chocolate and Candy Pink in an aluminium body. It is small enough to fit in a pocket and can be tacken anywhere with no problems. As far as I can say it is very reliable and does brilliant pictures for a normal user.
Features
It works with 8 megapixels .The 3x zoom works for all the general snapshot moments. It comes with an Image Stabilization (IS moniker) to reduce camera shake. As far as I know this is not standard on all cameras yet, but becomes more normal in newer models. The lens is glass, so it?s definitely an advantage towards cameras with a plastic lens. You can certainly see that in the quality...

Canon Digital IXUS 70
Advantages: Loads Of features, Small, very good price
Disadvantages: Haven't found any yet
...Canon are very well know for there cameras and always produce very good products. This is no exception and comes with lots of features. It is a 7.1 megapixel digital camera which means the pictures that it takes are very, very good quality. Personally I think that 5 megapixels is enough for taking photos but if you are planning on doing a lot of editing and zooming in on certain parts of photos then maybe 6 or 7 megapixels is more what you are after. This fits into the second category there so if you are looking to take photos to edit and want a well know name for a camera then this could be a good option for you. It has a new technology for taking photos of people and can detect and face on the screen and set itself up so you will get the best possible picture, I will go into more detail for this later on. It also has a red eye...

Canon Digital IXUS 65
Advantages: Big screen
Disadvantages: None
...It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good.
However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need.

Canon Digital IXUS 750
Advantages: High resolution; 3x optical zoom; fast, reliable operation
Disadvantages: some blurring in low light conditions
...canon's IXUS range is as much about eye catching good looks as it is about great performance. Luckily, this latest model, the 7 megapixel IXUS 750, manages to score highly in both categories.
With a brushed metallic sheen that feels pleasingly soft to the touch, this sturdily built pocket camera is available in two colours: satin beige and silver grey.
despite the sleek styling and premium price tag of around £420, this is still very much a point and shoot camera. but there are neat little extras such as the ability to shoot slow motion video clips, or small movies at an impressive 30 framers per second, with sound.
still photos can also be edited on the camera itself, alter the colour balance or swap blocks of colour using the my colours option, operated directly sfrom the 2.5 inch screen's menu. its neat trick, but, unless you are...

Canon IXUS 990 IS, excellent camera despite the price
Advantages: Photo quality, ease of use, durability
Disadvantages: expensive, useless memory card, slightly bulky
...This is the second Cannon IXUS model that I have purchased and as before I have been impressed. Picture quality is excellent even when using the digital zoom although a stand is recommended, particularly in poor light. One of the things that make these cameras so attractive is the ease of use, along with a range of camera modes which allow even novices to take good photos in range of environments.
I have had the camera for almost 2 years now and it still works well with no signs of drop in performance. The cameras look is stylish with no visible signs of scratches despite its frequent use.
The only drawbacks are the cost which is still relatively expensive compared with other models currently out there with the same specification and the size which is quite chunky. Also the memory card provided is virtually worthless due to its...

Canon Ixus 90 IS - great camera, but only good images!
Advantages: Lightweight, easy to use, good shortcut buttons
Disadvantages: Buttons occasionally difficult to use, odd white balance underwater
...I've had a couple of months using this camera, and have been fairly impressed, though have also found a couple of small niggles.
My previous camera was the Canon Ixus 75 - I was lucky enough to win this one which is why I've upgraded. As such, I wil make some of this review a comparison of the two cameras.
The Ixus 90 IS is a 10 MP camera, with image stabilisation as implied by the name. In size and weight it's fairly similar to previous models. The rear of the camera, as with the 75, is taken up largely by the 3 inch LCD screen, leaving no space for an optical viewfinder. This is personal preference; I think a lot of people don't care about optical viewfinders nowadays, and I mainly use the camera underwater, so it's not an issue. I think this screen is better than most at deflecting glare, making it easier than some cameras to...

Canon Digital Ixus
Advantages: Excellent quality for the price
Disadvantages: .
...The Canon Digital Ixus is the best digital camera that I have encountered by far. Granted I have not tried all cameras but for the selection I have played with this tops the lot.
Its sleek ultra-compact style makes it not just practical but also good to look at. Friends will admire the camera pointing at them; blessed by its magnificence.
Spec:-
With 2.1 million pixel CCD it allows images of up to 1600x1200.
2x zoom lens with high resolution allowing wide-angle shots (telephoto) and good zoom.
10 second self-timer.
Other:-
The memory used is a CompactFlash card (camera supplied with 8mb card). 8mb allows between 4 and 46 images (depending on quality) to be stored in JPEG format.
The link to computers is via a USB cable and the camera comes equipped with all the necessary software needed for the transfer if images to your...
