Canon Digital IXUS I Zoom - AMAZING!!!

Advantages: Great photos taken quickly and easily, small and quite long battery life
Disadvantages: Has to be charged in dock

...A fantastic camera that has served me well for over a year now (and seems to have retained its value as I bought it for £180 last year)! There are many things that make this a great camera - first of all it is available in many different colours and is ultra-slim and small in width, fitting into the smallest of pockets so there's no need for a case. The quality at 5MP is enough for most users and it's fast start up time and ease of use means that the perfect picture is never missed! Short videos can also be taken and they are of good qualiy also. Reviewing photos is very easy and zoom is available so details can be made out clearly. The battery life is excellent and has lasted me over a week whilst on holiday and to charge it only needs a maximum of 3 hours in it's dock. It is a 7.1 megapixel digital camera which means the pictures that it takes are very, very good quality. Personally I think that 5 megapixels is enough for taking photos but if you are planning on doing a lot of editing and zooming in on certain parts of photos then maybe 6 or 7 megapixels is more what you are after. This fits into the second category there so if you are looking to take photos to edit and want a well know name for a camera then this could be a good option for you. Canon Digital IXUS 80 IS -nice little camera

...I am not an expert on digital cameras and this is just the second one I bought. So I cannot really compare the Ixus 80 with other cameras. Nevertheless, I really like it. Looks The Lxus 80 comes in Classic Silver, Caramel, Chocolate and Candy Pink in an aluminium body. It is small enough to fit in a pocket and can be tacken anywhere with no problems. As far as I can say it is very reliable and does brilliant pictures for a normal user. Features It works with 8 megapixels .The 3x zoom works for all the general snapshot moments. It comes with an Image Stabilization (IS moniker) to reduce camera shake. As far as I know this is not standard on all cameras yet, but becomes more normal in newer models. The lens is glass, so it?s definitely an advantage towards cameras with a plastic lens. You can certainly see that in the quality...

The problem though is that while my trusted Sony W1 is a great camera it is a little bulky to put in my pocket. Recently I was lucky enough to win a gold Canon Ixus i zoom. (5 Mega Pixel) The first thing you notice about this camera is the size, approx 9.5 cm long, 4.5 cm wide and 2 cm deep it is smaller than my mobile phone and easily slips into your pocket. The monitor is an ample 3.9 x 2.9 cm. Although looks have never been that important to me when choosing a camera I have got to admit it looks great.
