...Having owned the Canon 50mm f1.4 for a few years and finding it was a lens I used a lot I thought it was about time I upgraded and treated myself to a new 50mm prime lens and the Canon 50mm f1.2L was the top of my list. The first thing I will say about the 50mm f1.2 is that it is an expensive (make that very expensive) lens, and when compared to other 50mm lenses it does seem excessively priced...

However, considering the difference in price for the small difference between what f1.4 and f1.8 can provide, I believe the f1.8 is a better option.
