Living with a 5D after a 20D
Advantages: Full frame sensor, very high resolution, excellent operation
Disadvantages: Costs double the price of a 30D, hidden extra costs
...other AF illuminator, the 5D sometimes struggles to focus in low light. I also have a 430EX and 580EX flash and both of these provide excellent red LED AF illuminators which usually allow the 5D to focus quickly and accurately in dark places. Buying one of these "accessories" is a must - after all the 5D has no flash at all so you will quickly feel the need to shell out the extra £185 - £200 for a 430EX flash - quite a big hidden cost on what is already an expensive pro-sumer camera body (more than double the cost of a 20D).
Weight - the first thing you notice about the 5D is that it's a bit heavier than the 20D. Not much heavier but if you walk around all day with it you'll notice. Add to that the not insubstantial weight of one of the flash units and you're looking at a camera package that weighs over 1.2kg... and that's before you...

canon 5d---- good or bad
Advantages: full frame
Disadvantages: new cameras have better features
...i have a canon 5d and has 12.8 mp full frame cmos sensor,9 points af, digic 2 processor, records raw/jpegs, compact magnesium alloy body etc.
If you don't know the difference between full frame and cropped frame is that the full frame standard size is 35mm the cropped frame can range from sizes but smaller than 35mm.
Obviously there new cameras that have new feature but if you want the cheapest camera that has good pro quality and also light and discreet this is the 1.
I will say that it lacks in a few thing that the new cameras have like live view, auto sensor cleaning, hd video recorder, digic 4 processor, AF micro adjustment, quick control screen, built in flash, water dust resistance well better sealing....

The Canon EOS 450D
Advantages: high quality images, great design, rugged yet light, good value, quick
Disadvantages: auto modes can be dodgy in extreme lighting, only one control wheel, bad live view
...Canon has for a long time been renowned for its high quality cameras with superb image quality and good value for money.
The Canon EOS 450D is no exception: rugged build, high quality images from Canon's renowned CMOS sensor, and good battery life and usability all contribute to the making of an excellent entry lever DSLR camera.
In terms of picture quality, I feel Canon is unrivalled, and the 450D upholds this reputation. The 12.2MP and CMOS sensor produce excellent results in all light conditions. In bright light, the Canon has no issues sensoring quickly and almost always producing a result in auto and manual modes. The meter is swift and reliable, producing results that are frequently bettered by knowledge of the manual mode and histogram, but nevertheless excellent.
The images from low light situations are also very good...

Canon EOS 450D - Superb!
Advantages: Extremely easy to use, fantastic picture quality, long battery life.
Disadvantages: I haven't found any!
...Introduction
I bought the Canon EOS 450D a couple of months ago as my first SLR - and i can honestly say its an absolute pleasure to use. For someone like me who is a total novice in photography terms (but very willing to learn!) this camera is superb.
Ease of use
My friend and I researched SLR cameras for hours to try to find a camera for me. I can only be described as a beginner but I wanted to take the plunge and do some 'real' photography. The EOS 450D seemed to have everything I was looking for - and it is everything I was looking for. It is a very light, yet sturdy camera that fits comfortably in my hands. The large LCD screen is very sharp which is especially useful when you are trying to change settings, and i was surprised by how quickly i learned what all of the buttons did and also how quickly i was able to take a half decent...

Canon Quality
Advantages: Same Canon quality we have come to expect, great ISO capabilities.
Disadvantages: Buttons can get fiddly in the cold.
...when shooting with this camera is the frame rate in continuous shooting mode. At just 3.4fps up to 170 Jpegs, is not great when compared to similar models and is not sufficient for getting the right moment at fast moving sports. 5fps would have been more acceptable at this price band. The ISO is where this camera shines; it goes right up to 3200 expandable to 12800. As it uses Canons renowned sensor system images are more than usable even when you shoot at the thick end. The LCD screen used on this camera is 3.0? and also includes live view, which can only be expected. This screen is more than large enough on this relatively small body. The AF system is very fast with the kit lens and works quietly. The amazing DIGIC 4 processor also features in the 500D. This is welcomed with its stunning noise reducing qualities and extraordinary startup...

The Canon EOS 50D superb image quality.
Advantages: Superb image quality, well built, High resolution, low noise, Excellent spec.
Disadvantages: Only minor gripes, no CF card included, large and heavy compared to some.
...The Canon EOS 50D
This review is based on my own reviews of this camera elsewhere (Amazon) and has been edited for the pupose of posting on here, I hope you will find it useful.
I bought this camera almost as soon as it was released, so I have had plenty of time to get used to it, and test it fully before writing this review.
Overview
The first thing you notice is that this is not a small lightweight camera, but is a solid well built camera designed for serious use, yet despite it's size and weight it is still easy to hold and is comfortable to use, for those of you that have used the EOS 40D it has the same body shell as that, and has the advantage of using the same accessories as the EOS 40D as well.
The menu's are well laid out and easy to use making this camera easy to set up and use, the large...

Canon EOS 30D
Advantages: Multi-featured
Disadvantages: None
...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need.

A slightly less explosive Canon.
Advantages: Typically good Canon images.
Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.
...to have that at your finger tips. Of all of these things the only one that can't be rectified is the flimsy issue because you can of course buy any lens you choose and also change the flash to a flash unit but the problem with that is then you are spending big and the whole point of a entry level DSLR is to cut cost, if you want to spend big just buy a higher spec unit in the first place.

Canon EOS 400D
Advantages: Low cost entry to Digital SLR photography. Compatible with all Canon Ef and Ef-s lenses
Disadvantages: Manual exposure fiddly, Kit lens good for cost, but not high-quality
...Review EOS 400d
The canon 400D is a good camera - for the price it's a great camera. It's relatively compact; lightweight; comes with an adequate lens; has programmed settings for novices - like portrait and landscape modes; but also offers manual control of apertures, shutter speeds, white balance, ISO? so that the more experienced photographers can have fun and be a little more creative. One item to note if you are upgrading from a digital compact is that you have to use the viewfinder. The screen on the back of the camera only shows exposure information, and allows you to view photographs you have already taken. It does not let you view the scene you are about to photograph. In my opinion this is a good thing because it forces you to hold the camera properly - up against your face where it can be held steadily, instead of at arms...
