The Canon EOS 450D
Advantages: high quality images, great design, rugged yet light, good value, quick
Disadvantages: auto modes can be dodgy in extreme lighting, only one control wheel, bad live view
...Canon has for a long time been renowned for its high quality cameras with superb image quality and good value for money.
The Canon EOS 450D is no exception: rugged build, high quality images from Canon's renowned CMOS sensor, and good battery life and usability all contribute to the making of an excellent entry lever DSLR camera.
In terms of picture quality, I feel Canon is unrivalled, and the 450D upholds this reputation. The 12.2MP and CMOS sensor produce excellent results in all light conditions. In bright light, the Canon has no issues sensoring quickly and almost always producing a result in auto and manual modes. The meter is swift and reliable, producing results that are frequently bettered by knowledge of the manual mode and histogram, but nevertheless excellent.
The images from low light situations are also very good...

Canon Quality
Advantages: Same Canon quality we have come to expect, great ISO capabilities.
Disadvantages: Buttons can get fiddly in the cold.
... Canon 500D
Introduction
Canons range of cameras is very impressive. Everyone can be accommodated for, there really is something for everyone.
Camera Itself
First off, the camera. The sensor on this model has a larger pixel count than many of its rivals and cheaper models in the range. The 15.1 megapixels on offer is more than enough for the market it is aimed at, these images will easily be blown up above A3 and still retain most of the detail. The new addition to this camera that sets it apart from the older models is the Full 1080p movies. Many photographers don?t like this new mode but if you don?t, then simply don?t use it. Having the functionality of a high quality video camera on family holidays and such will be welcomed by the enthusiast market at which this is aimed toward. One problem I found...

Canon EOS 1000D - Amazing.
Advantages: light compact good camera
Disadvantages: annoying sized usb
...I think this camera is actually amazing. I'm really weak and found SLRs really annoying to use because my arms just ached after a while, but this camera is light weight and works just as well as any of the really heavy ones! Its also a reasonable size so no more having to take a HUGE camera anywhere.
I would recommend the camera to beginners rather than people experienced in photography. It is quite simple how to use it, and then there's always auto mode for people who might not feel as adventurous with playing with things like the aperture.
I fully recommend this camera it is worth the money and to be honest worth more. It's a decent camera and your going to get your moneys worth with it....

Canon EOS 450D - Superb!
Advantages: Extremely easy to use, fantastic picture quality, long battery life.
Disadvantages: I haven't found any!
...Introduction
I bought the Canon EOS 450D a couple of months ago as my first SLR - and i can honestly say its an absolute pleasure to use. For someone like me who is a total novice in photography terms (but very willing to learn!) this camera is superb.
Ease of use
My friend and I researched SLR cameras for hours to try to find a camera for me. I can only be described as a beginner but I wanted to take the plunge and do some 'real' photography. The EOS 450D seemed to have everything I was looking for - and it is everything I was looking for. It is a very light, yet sturdy camera that fits comfortably in my hands. The large LCD screen is very sharp which is especially useful when you are trying to change settings, and i was surprised by how quickly i learned what all of the buttons did and also how quickly i was able to take a half decent...

The Canon EOS 50D superb image quality.
Advantages: Superb image quality, well built, High resolution, low noise, Excellent spec.
Disadvantages: Only minor gripes, no CF card included, large and heavy compared to some.
...The Canon EOS 50D
This review is based on my own reviews of this camera elsewhere (Amazon) and has been edited for the pupose of posting on here, I hope you will find it useful.
I bought this camera almost as soon as it was released, so I have had plenty of time to get used to it, and test it fully before writing this review.
Overview
The first thing you notice is that this is not a small lightweight camera, but is a solid well built camera designed for serious use, yet despite it's size and weight it is still easy to hold and is comfortable to use, for those of you that have used the EOS 40D it has the same body shell as that, and has the advantage of using the same accessories as the EOS 40D as well.
The menu's are well laid out and easy to use making this camera easy to set up and use, the large...

Canon EOS 400D Camera
Advantages: great value, reliable, can use older lenses, great quality, great battery life,
Disadvantages: extras are expensive, speed wheel too close to shot button, so many features can become confusing
...I have had this camera for around a year now and have found it to be an amazing reliable product. The battery life and features are vast although this has been superseeded by newer models with more features I believe this camera does its jobs well and the fact newer models have come out has reduced the price on the camera making it an even more a great entry level camera for the digital photographer. Also the ability to use older lenses that dont have digital features is also good as it helps to keep costs down on getting setup. The only issue I have with the camera is that one of the speed controls is on the front right a bit too close to the button for taking a picture. Which I find gets accidently moved and affects shots....

A slightly less explosive Canon.
Advantages: Typically good Canon images.
Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.
...Canon along with Nikon have for years been known as the kings of camera`s but with things changing rapidly in the DSLR market Canon had to think fast. All of Canons recent releases have been at the expensive end of the market and they have been rapidly losing ground to the likes of Nikon and the new kids on the block (Sony). The release of the Canon EOS 1000D in June this year (2008)was an attempt to get back in the entry level market and whilst I think it should have the desired effect I am still not convinced they have done enough to tempt people away from the less expensive Sony option.
Many people myself included thought that the new Canon would just be a fresher version of the Canon EOS 400D and the only stand out feature available on this 1000D that the 400 did not offer was a live view, so were Canon trying to pull the wool...

Canon EOS 30D
Advantages: Multi-featured
Disadvantages: None
...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need.

Canon EOS 400D
Advantages: Low cost entry to Digital SLR photography. Compatible with all Canon Ef and Ef-s lenses
Disadvantages: Manual exposure fiddly, Kit lens good for cost, but not high-quality
...Review EOS 400d
The canon 400D is a good camera - for the price it's a great camera. It's relatively compact; lightweight; comes with an adequate lens; has programmed settings for novices - like portrait and landscape modes; but also offers manual control of apertures, shutter speeds, white balance, ISO? so that the more experienced photographers can have fun and be a little more creative. One item to note if you are upgrading from a digital compact is that you have to use the viewfinder. The screen on the back of the camera only shows exposure information, and allows you to view photographs you have already taken. It does not let you view the scene you are about to photograph. In my opinion this is a good thing because it forces you to hold the camera properly - up against your face where it can be held steadily, instead of at arms...

Canon EOS 400D - Great Value for money Digital SLR
Advantages: Good price, easy to use
Disadvantages: Has been superceded
...Having had a Canon EOS 350D, when the 400D was launched I was so confident of the brand that it was a forgone conclusion that I would buy one.
The build quality is the first positive point. It is such a solid camera, not that you would bash it on purpose, but it'll certainly take a few knocks without any problems. The 18-55mm kit lens that I got with mine is also pretty good. This does feel a little cheaply made in comparison to the camera, but it does the job and has good optics.
The screen on the back of the unit gives you all the information needed. Once a picture is taken it also gives you a preview. There is no live view, like point-and-shoot compacts and the latest digital SLR's. This means that framing your photos is done through the VERY clear optical viewfinder. The results are just stunning. The EOS 400D will beat any compact...
