...I had had several year experience with an entry level DSLR before I bought the Canon 7D. I like trying new things with cameras and I had got as far as I could with my old camera. Advantages: Good quality camera that in the hands of the right person will serve them well.
Disadvantages: Can be a little pricey for amateur photographers.

Advantages: ready to shoot, easy to hold
Disadvantages: slightly to heavy
...I have just been using the new Canon digital EOS350D, the new and improved 8 megapixel camera (it replaces the 6.3mp so I'm told).
A camera nerd friend of mine (maybe I'm being too harsh on him, after all he relies on this type of camera for his job), recently gave me a spell with his new baby, (I don't know how I managed to prise it out of his hands).
Its a sexy black looking camera...
