Canon or a Brother ?
Advantages: Good print Quality
Disadvantages: Cartridge prices
...This review is for the Canon Pixma IP4700.
Setup
---------
This printer comes inside a box which is heavily packaged and first off all you get the power cable. The cable is wrapped with this tie back but the problem is that when you unwind the cable you notice how it wants to try and curl back up again so you do need to try and straighten it out as soon as you can.
You receive the disc which has the drivers on which you need to install on the computer otherwise you have no way of printing items off without it.
There is nothing else inside the box besides the cartridges which are easy to insert and use. The disc is good because it is so simple to install the items onto the computer and this takes about a minute to do.
You do not get a connection to the computer though so you do need to purchase one yourself and many websites...

The Brilliant Canon i350
Advantages: Cheap, Good Looks, Speedy, Clear Prints, Crisp Edges, Cheap Cartridges
Disadvantages: Can't Think of Any
...The Canon i350 is a great printer; it is a brilliant all rounder for anyone really. It does quick black and white printing and nearly just as quick colour printing. Also on high mode it can almost be a great photo printer.
Introduction
=
The Canon i350 has been sweeping stores recently as it has been a great discount all rounding printer, it can do everything you could need, and at a good price. It is a low consumer of energy, and can store a lot on its internal memory, so there is no slowing down your computer just to print something. It can also hold a lot of paper, and it?s ink cartridges are brilliantly cheap from a great website I found, (will be mentioned at the bottom). It is designed very well and is very solid, it is very simple to put together with a good clear instruction manual. It is white and silver...

I Wanna Portrait
Advantages: It is a cheap printer with good prints
Disadvantages: The price of cartridges and how the ink fails to dry quickly
....com if you wanted one.
Design
The printer is designed in this very stylish and polished black colour which has this glowing look every time you look at it. All made out of this plastic which is quite durable.
Around the trims is this grey section which sort of hides all the corners.
In the middle you have the Canon logo which is dominate in the printer topping and you have underneath a rotten grey colour. The colour is quite bad considering the rest of the printer looks really nice.
At the back of the printer you have where the mains adapter goes which is quite tough to get in and out. I like something which is easy to plug in and out and then to put away again but this is quite difficult.
You have on the left hand side a connection for plugging into your computer via USB and this is the signal between the computer and printer...

Excellent Printer From Canon
Advantages: Excellent Print Quality, Fast Printing, Reasonable Price
Disadvantages: None
...My printer had been playing up for a couple of months, I normally (99% of the time) only use it for printing in black for invoices, however I do occasionally print something off in colour and sometimes print a photo. It was missing one of the colours out now and again and so I decided it was time for a new one.
Why Canon?
My old printer was a Canon and although it was playing up it had served me well for about three years of constant use. I also think the design of the Canon printers is very good, I think they are far better to look at than most other makes and this is quite important when you are going to be looking at it everyday, sat on your desk. Another reason is the fact that the ink cartridges are much more affordable than some other makes, I once had a Hewlet Packard printer and required a second mortgage everytime they...

I was not blown away by this Canon!
Advantages: Good build quality and easy to use.
Disadvantages: A lack of features, and not the quality you would expect from a 12 megapixel Canon.
...it is a canon and names in photography do not come much bigger than Canon but also it has the long title of the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS.
This compact camera is taking compacts to a new level or at least trying to, with its 12.1 megapixel sensor and its optical viewfinder, trouble is the lens lets the sensor down and the viewfinder is a bit small for my liking so it is perhaps not so impressive after all, or is it?
The first thing I noticed with this Canon in my hand was that it felt very robust and even a bit chunky, not good for a compact in some peoples opinion but for me a camera should feel like a camera and not like a credit card, and the better it feels in hand the easier it is to use.
The buttons and controls on this unit were very easy to get to grips with and will not be too fiddly for those of you with larger fingers...

The Canon i250 printer
Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: no catching tray
...For general use, the Canon i250 is not a bad little printer. The quality is of quite a high standard for a cheap printer, added to the fact, the cartidges are cheap too, and easy to insert, and it uses a USB for connecting, meaning it is almost no work to set up, you have every reason to give it a try.
I have had this printer a couple of months, and I am very pleased with it. It even looks nice. With a 600 x 600 dpi for B&W and 4800 x 1200 dpi for colour, it is very capable of photo quality, giving sharp, clear pictures. It will print a black and white page in around 5 seconds, about 8-9 pages per minute, so not too shabby at all.
I bought this printer, because I wanted simplicity and ease of use. I only needed something that would print my text documents, and that is exactly what I got. But if I should want to print photos anytime...

How come i've never tried this before?
Advantages: Great priced cartridges, superb photo quality and draft quality
Disadvantages: Not as compact as some printers
....2.1 or later, Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
Software Included: Drivers & Utilities, Canon PhotoRecord, Canon Easy-PhotoPrint, Canon Easy-WebPrint, Canon Easy-PrintToolBox
Product height 169 mm
Product depth 260 mm
Product width 418 mm
Weight: 4.4 kg
The cartridges it takes are the Canon BCI 24 ones, in black and colour. The black cartridge costs £5.99 and contains ink for 130 pages. the colour Cartridge costs £11.99 and contains enough ink for 170 pages, although i have found that both cartridges seem to do a lot more than this! (i do however use the draft print function most of the time which maybe why!)
I'll probably add more to this at a later date as my progress with the printer draws on!
Thanks for reading!...

SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! The Canon i455 printer
Advantages: Cheap, cheerful and great pics
Disadvantages: Noisier than a crashing Lancaster bomber
...Once upon a time, I was sittng here at my PC at 2.00 in the morning when suddenly there was an earthquake.
The walls shook. The furniture danced. Everyone went out into the street thinking that a 'plane had come down on their house.
The Canon i455 sounds similar.
It likes to clean itself and goes through some internal mechanical acrobatics that are a joy to experience. If you liked skiffle you'll love this printer. It seems to go off like a paradiddle on a set of saucepans every time I look at it.
I've had quieter motorbike accidents.
So you'll no doubt be surprised to learn that I bought this printer deliberately even though I'd read that it was a bit of a Ginger Baker in reviews.
There was method to my madness, however.
Let me explain.
My previous printer was an HP inkjet which was capable of producing very...

Canon PIXMA Ip3600 (Printer)
Advantages: Easy to use, affordable and fast
Disadvantages: No disadvantages were noticed
...I use the printer at work for various projects and it is superb. The color quality is excellent. It prints pictures and photos better than any printer I have used.
The printing speed is fast and high quality.
The printer is easy to use and easy to order supplies for. It is very reliable, I hardly have any paper jams with it and when I do it is very easily fixed. In the past I have used printers where when the toner runs out it is difficult to replace or order the correct replacement but not with this printer. Replacing items is extremely easy.
This printer is a great value for the money considering the toners etc are not expensive as with a lot of other photo printers etc.
I would recommend this printer to anyone....

The Canon i560, a hard act to follow.
Advantages: Fast, Quiet, Economical, Stunning quality, PictBridge interface
Disadvantages: Cannot print CDs, Flimsy output tray
...without the PC having to be switched on. It's all done via the camera, dead useful.
The printer has both USB and parallel ports which means that it will hook up to virtually any computer (it even works on our 14yr old Amiga).
Setup was a doddle as the PC detected it on power-up. The software provided is very good and the driver versatile. I use it with Windows 2000, but Win98 and XP were handled with equal panache. The canon Easy-Photoprint software is a doddle to use, instinctive and also allows some control over output. Simple enough for anyone without being patronising.
The paper handling is very good although the output flap at the front is a little flimsy.
First impressions were one of a decently built unit with excellent quality print. It is definitely fast but I am not so pedantic as to measure the actual time. Suffice it to say...
