Canon or a Brother ?

Advantages: Good print Quality
Disadvantages: Cartridge prices

...This review is for the Canon Pixma IP4700. Setup --------- This printer comes inside a box which is heavily packaged and first off all you get the power cable. The cable is wrapped with this tie back but the problem is that when you unwind the cable you notice how it wants to try and curl back up again so you do need to try and straighten it out as soon as you can. You receive the disc which has the drivers on which you need to install on the computer otherwise you have no way of printing items off without it. There is nothing else inside the box besides the cartridges which are easy to insert and use. The disc is good because it is so simple to install the items onto the computer and this takes about a minute to do. You do not get a connection to the computer though so you do need to purchase one yourself and many websites...

Review of Canon PIXMA iP4700

Canon Powershot SX200 IS

Advantages: Lots of zoom, lots of pixels, sturdy
Disadvantages: No internal memory, flash pops up whether you want it to or not

...I bought this camera recently as I purchased a Canon EOS1000D DSLR and I wanted a compact digital with a large zoom for the times when I didn't feel like lugging the DSLR and all it's accessories around with me. I'd looked around at other models, and I know that there are many other cameras that offer a much higher zoom, but I finally settled on this one for a number of reasons. a) 12 million pixels. This is more than I'll probably ever need as it's very rare that I print anything above 8x10 but it was an upgrade on my previous digital compact. b) 12x optical zoom. Review of Canon PowerShot SX200 IS

A slightly less explosive Canon.

Advantages: Typically good Canon images.
Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.

Review of Canon EOS 1000D

  A Canon that lacks firepower.

Advantages: Easy to use, well built and looks good (in silver at least)!
Disadvantages: Poor image quality in some lights and not great value for money.

...a bit in certain light to get the exposure perfect so this is not unusual but for such an advanced unit it was a bit of a letdown. So now that I know I cannot rely on the auto setting to get things perfect for me I have to have a go at setting things up for myself so I delve into the menu system for the first time. The menu system is friendly and fairly straight forward and with a simple quick flick through the user manual should be easy enough to start to operate for most although when it comes to setting everything manually a further read of the instructions will be needed. If you have used a Canon of any sort before then the menu will have a lot of similarities for you and will be much easier to pick up, if you are a Canon newbie then more time will be needed to familiarise yourself with its many controls. ...problem is minimal with excellent low-light performance. MAIN DRAWBACKS But while commenting on its performance a comparison with Sony HDR-SR 12 becomes inevitable. Since it has been widely accepted that Sony gives much less grains than Canon HG21 does and Sony?s image quality is far better than Canon HG21. The reason probably is the difference mpix between the two. I think it?s worthwhile to mention here that although the HDD holds 11 hours footage but the battery won?t for sure. The onboard mic has left lot to be desired and has only two channels not getting the best of five channel surround. The lamp falls below expectations and not enough powerful.
