Canon LiDE 35 Scanner

Advantages: lightweight, fast and easy to set up and use. nice slimline design.
Disadvantages: None that I have found

Advantages: Well balanced, good quality images, great dial wheel

The camera is very well built with strong controls and buttons. Surprisingly it is not heavy which helps balance out the camera nicely. The menu functions are very easy to use with simple sections with the help of the dial wheel. The dial wheel is a my favourite feature on this camera. It allows you to move easily through the menu and importantly through your photographs. You can navigate through your captured photographs with the slight turn of the dial wheel and it was this featured that interested me towards this camera. Canon Lide 50- 12 months on

Advantages: fast, good resolution, good value, software bundle
Disadvantages: none to think of

...I bought the Canon LiDE 50 scanner just over a year ago, to replace an aging and very slow USB 1.1 model from an alternate manufacturer. Speed + resolution were my main initial requirements, as was a compact design. At the time of purchase, there were very few USB 2.0 [or Hi-Speed, Enhanced USB depending on your 'Device Manger' listing in Windows] compliant scanners, and the price was very fair [£70 including VAT and delivery]. Software very useful to install and a generous package supplied, including a full version of Adobe PhotoShop Elements 2.0 [OEM version, no manuals but who cares at that price] a reasonable OCR application, CanonScan tool box and more [the others I haven't bothered to install so will not comment on them]. Advantages: Very conpact design that does not hinder performance
Disadvantages: quite slow becasue its not mains powered. Not as good as the desktop models

These buttons are very useful if you want to just quickly print off a document or email one to you friend for some reason. This scanner also uses up minimal desk space so you can have enough room for other stuff. One thing though is, try not to get the top of it scratched, bad thing! There is one USB port, and that is the only port. How simple. This is really good, seeing as I travel constantly so now I can only carry around one USB wire with me. ...The Canon 20D is the fourth DSLR of the xxD line by Canon, which now contains 6 cameras. In my opinion the 20D is one of the best, for a number of reasons. The 8mp sensor allows prints to be made at A3 size or more, while reducing noise in the images. It also features a Magnesium Alloy body which feels very solid, and adds to the impression that this camera is more expensive than it actually is - it can be found very cheaply now from eBay or professional camera dealers. The 5 frames per second is more than enough for shooting action sequences, from children's school sports days to F1 and airshows. The images the 20D produces are of very high quality, with comparitavely low noise at high ISO presenting perfectly useable shots up to ISO 800.
