Canon EOS 1D MKIII - I wanted one for 2 years

Advantages: Fast writing, low light/high ISO setting, huge screen, robust
Disadvantages: Auto focussing

A lovely combination and the results are outstanding. The down side - I didn't need to wait for the four months to realise that the autofocussing on this camera takes some getting used to. On occasions where I cover sporting events, I have found that despite playing with a number of different focussing modes on the 1D, I get better focussing accuracy when using the 20D and 5D models, both used by our team of wedding and event photographers. Canon Powershot SX200 IS

Advantages: Lots of zoom, lots of pixels, sturdy
Disadvantages: No internal memory, flash pops up whether you want it to or not

...I bought this camera recently as I purchased a Canon EOS1000D DSLR and I wanted a compact digital with a large zoom for the times when I didn't feel like lugging the DSLR and all it's accessories around with me. I'd looked around at other models, and I know that there are many other cameras that offer a much higher zoom, but I finally settled on this one for a number of reasons. a) 12 million pixels. This is more than I'll probably ever need as it's very rare that I print anything above 8x10 but it was an upgrade on my previous digital compact. b) 12x optical zoom. This is more than adequate for general photography, any more and I think you do probably need a tripod. c) NB-5L Li-Ion Battery. Review of Canon EOS 5D Mark II

So glad to be back to a Canon!

Advantages: Small, tough, simple and fast to use
Disadvantages: A little expensive

...the tough life that it will experience until I lose it somewhere. The lens is motorised and emerges from the camera when it is switched on. I think there has been a trend in small camera to avoid a protruding lens, it would certainly save on space. With the lens situated towards the centre of the camera and not the corner I'm pleased that I'm no longer taking photos of my finger holding the corner of the camera :-) Theres the standard tripod screw at the bottom of the case if you want to attach it to a tripod. The battery charger is seperate and the camera takes a NB-4L Canon battery if you have one to recycle from an old camera. The charger is small thankfully. Specs I said this wasn't a techie review and please mark me down if you're finding it useless as a result, I'm just trying to give an honest opinion on how I'm finding using...

Review of Canon Digital IXUS 100 IS Digital Camera

Canon or a Brother ?

Advantages: Good print Quality
Disadvantages: Cartridge prices

...This review is for the Canon Pixma IP4700. Setup --------- This printer comes inside a box which is heavily packaged and first off all you get the power cable. The cable is wrapped with this tie back but the problem is that when you unwind the cable you notice how it wants to try and curl back up again so you do need to try and straighten it out as soon as you can. You receive the disc which has the drivers on which you need to install on the computer otherwise you have no way of printing items off without it. There is nothing else inside the box besides the cartridges which are easy to insert and use. The disc is good because it is so simple to install the items onto the computer and this takes about a minute to do. You do not get a connection to the computer though so you do need to purchase one yourself and many websites...

A slightly less explosive Canon.

Advantages: Typically good Canon images.
Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.

...Canon along with Nikon have for years been known as the kings of camera`s but with things changing rapidly in the DSLR market Canon had to think fast. All of Canons recent releases have been at the expensive end of the market and they have been rapidly losing ground to the likes of Nikon and the new kids on the block (Sony). The release of the Canon EOS 1000D in June this year (2008)was an attempt to get back in the entry level market and whilst I think it should have the desired effect I am still not convinced they have done enough to tempt people away from the less expensive Sony option. Many people myself included thought that the new Canon would just be a fresher version of the Canon EOS 400D and the only stand out feature available on this 1000D that the 400 did not offer was a live view, so were Canon trying to pull the wool...

Modern Warfare 2 - Fun but not Fantastic

Advantages: intriguing gameplay, flawless sound/graphics, rolling storyline
Disadvantages: anti-climax, little repetitive, nothing really new to catch onto

...of course Special Ops mode, in which you pair up and walkthrough the game earning stars. These missions are like loose playing against the single player game which you will note is great fun when you prefer teamwork and for those who feel they still want to learn a thing or two in the game before going for gold - the multiplayer maps. In conclusion, many have small and minor complaints and I did have many reservations and did not latch onto the hype - for perhaps this reason I am not disappointed. Any complaints in the Modern Warfare 2 reveiws will need to be taken with a pinch of salt - it is very finely balanced between creative and fun gameplay and just missing the mark. Had MW1 and World at War not been made I feel sure this would be an outstanding game to everyone. If you are not one to nitpick at certain voice overs, what you wanted...

Review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360)

  A Canon that lacks firepower.

Advantages: Easy to use, well built and looks good (in silver at least)!
Disadvantages: Poor image quality in some lights and not great value for money.
