...This fully featured digital camcorder has to be one of the best bargains around. Boasting a 48x digital zoom and Progressive scan CCD along with Red/Green/Blue primary colour filter this camera outperforms many cameras costing half as much again. Added to that is its impressive list of features such as the digital effects, photo mode and fold out full colour screen. However, the three things that really impressed me with this particular model were: 1. The patented Optical Image stabiliser. This is not a software trick, but a true stabiliser using a gyrosope-type device (I can't be sure of the technical details!). The 8mp sensor allows prints to be made at A3 size or more, while reducing noise in the images. It also features a Magnesium Alloy body which feels very solid, and adds to the impression that this camera is more expensive than it actually is - it can be found very cheaply now from eBay or professional camera dealers. The 5 frames per second is more than enough for shooting action sequences, from children's school sports days to F1 and airshows.
