Canon Pixma MP190 Good value, decent Printer

Advantages: Very good price, good print quality
Disadvantages: Does not come with USB cable to connect to computer.

...I have just bought and finished installing this printer, so I have decided to share my views on it. I bought it at the local Tesco Extra, after some research I found that they offered it at the lowest price, at £30. I also got 10% as they only had the display one left in store. However, as I bought it in store I did not get free delivery and had to carry it the 2 miles home, something I wont recommend if your arms get tired easily. It comes in a large box, and is well packaged so it does not rattle about in the box. You are provided with the Pixma MP190 printer, 2 ink cartridges (one black and one colour), setup CD-ROM, Printed documents and a power cord. ...ugly in an industrial way but that was a popular style a few years back. It produced pretty good document and photo prints and the scanner was adequate for documents but not of a standard to copy photos. When coming to choose a new printer these were the characteristics I was interested in. It had to print to a high standard, the scanner needed to be better and I didn't want it to look like an ugly lump of corporate kit with attachments falling off all the time. Despite painfully setting up the fax functionality first time round I have never received or sent a fax using the HP, in fact I don't think I've faxed anything this century so that functionality was dispensable. At a snifter under £100 the Canon Pixma MP600 packs a lot of quality into an attractively designed package. Ignoring any pointless fax functionality it concentrates...

  Canon Pixma mp 460 - Fantastic all in one

Advantages: lcd display, durability, optional Bluetooth connection, qualitys, speed, design, functionality, rich software, reliability
Disadvantages: could be litle smaller

.... Just think for a second and ask yourself a question. How would it be to have a scanner, printer and photocopy machine in one device? I had like this about year ago and it is not comfortable. You occupy only USB ports, have more cables behind and less room for anything on a desk. Cannon came across with Pixma mp460. This quite medium sizes device is brilliant and quality breath taking. Printed a number of pictures with it on an Ilford glossy photo paper and could not believe that they look so great. Canon MP 460 printer

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: poor photo prints

...to print over 50 different photos. All of them were left looking like everyone had freckels and skin tones were next to useless. Definatly not ones you want to show anyone. Even when put through a cleaning cycle there was no difference. On the bright side, when you printed text using only black ink it was crisp and very clear right down to no 8 font size. Apart from the nice looking screen area it has nothing to excite me. After using the machine for a week I have took it back to the shop, why, because of the banding, lack of colour depth and a sqeek on the slide rail when the cartridges are going across. So not really impressed with this one. I would stay clear and pay more for a good printer. Canon has failed on this one I think....

Advantages: Easy to use, affordable and fast
Disadvantages: No disadvantages were noticed

...I use the printer at work for various projects and it is superb. The color quality is excellent. It prints pictures and photos better than any printer I have used. The printing speed is fast and high quality. The printer is easy to use and easy to order supplies for. It is very reliable, I hardly have any paper jams with it and when I do it is very easily fixed. In the past I have used printers where when the toner runs out it is difficult to replace or order the correct replacement but not with this printer. Replacing items is extremely easy. This printer is a great value for the money considering the toners etc are not expensive as with a lot of other photo printers etc. I would recommend this printer to anyone....

Thoughts on Canon Pixma MP110

Advantages: Cheap ink cartridges, good quality printing and photographs
Disadvantages: Ugly appearance, user guides for software on CD not in paper format

...for a special photographic print head as had been used with some other Canon printers. All in all, if you do not mind the rather ugly appearance of the Canon Pixma MP110, for the price it is an excellent all-in-one printer for the home or small office. It uses some of the cheapest ink cartridges around and prints good quality documents and photographs. The scanning and copier functions are quick and simple to use. The Canon MP110 is a very practical, cost effective and functional all-in-one, albeit a bit of an ugly duckling....

Canon MP610 multifunction printer

Advantages: No seperate scanner unit. Seperate ink cartridges.
Disadvantages: you have buy your own bluetooth dongle.

...the ink cartridges. You could say the lid is in two parts. The first one is for the scanner, then the next part is to see inside the unit where the ink goes. With a lot of Canon printers, you have to fit a Printhead first. With the MP610 its no different. When you open the lid the printhead holder moves into the middle. The printhead fits in easily and locks down with a firm clunk of a little leaver. This cartridge is marked with the colours of the ink. They are easily fitted in and lock into place with a little plastic tag on the front of the cartridge. Thats that as far as they are concerned. Next you need to align the printer cartridges up. Canon MP620 All in one Printer

Advantages: Excellent Phot prints, excellent scanning, wireless capability
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky, wireless can be tricky to set up

...I bought this printer a few months ago to replace an old hp all in one which had lasted for a long time and sadly the print quality had diminished. With a large amount of options on the market I shopped around and came across the Canon MP620. It seemed to have all the features I was after including scanning, printing, card reader, photocopyer and wireless networking. Please note there are 2 other similar models in the range and as far as I know the MP610 is older and not wireless but slightly cheaper. Alternatively the MP630, which is more expensive is also not wireless but is faster in producing more prints per minute. So far, since using it I can report that the MP620 is an excellent all round printer. Great quality prints and excellent scanning makes it perfect for my needs.
