Canon PowerShot G10 review

Advantages: autofocus, big screen, face detection, 14,7 megapixel, image processor, image stabilisation
Disadvantages: chunky, not very stylish, not as portable as other cameras

...I recently bought one of these at an expensive price. I shall explain some features and my feedback to this item below. The 14.7-megapixel G10 replaces the PowerShot G9 at the top end of the clever compact space. It's a chunky beast of a camera, as you'll see in your pictures, but still smaller than a dSLR with comparable power and flexibity. The G-series are designed to be the back-up cameras you can keep in your pocket if you don't want to bust out the dSLR, and the G10 certainly packs a lot into its relatively compact frame. The G10 includes all the whistles, bells and accordions you'd expect: optical image stabilisation, face detection and various scene and colour modes. Review of Canon PowerShot G10

Canon Powershot - Above Average

Advantages: Nice for a small camera, Good settings, Nice overall camera
Disadvantages: Noise @ Low light, Batterys recognised as empty

...Picture Quality on the A590 is relatively good, outdoor pictures have great detail and almost no noise but the camera, instead of changing shutter speeds adjusts the ISO, this gives non blurry images but noise can be a bit of a downer, to keep noise out its best to use the flash, this works well and gives nice coverage of the space its 4X optical zoom works as you would expect, like a camera and the optical stabilization is a nice touch, it handles speed well but lacks a good multi shot setting, It has a range of features which you would expect from any of the higher prices point and shoot cameras including many simple settings, the software backs up the hardware very well and makes the features quite pleasant to use. the quality of the features is average and manual features do exist but aren't as good as other point and shoots...

...I recently recieved a Canon PowerShot SX10 for my birthday, i am very pleased with the quality of this camera. The pictures that it takes are of wonderful quality and you don't have to wait on the delay like alot of those cameras out there. Ever since i recieved the camera i have started selling my pictures, and have actually been making money for pictures that i take when i'm bored simply because the quality of the pictures are so good. This camera is very sleek and stylish and fits in your hands like a camera should. It is very comfortable to use and i is also very lightweight and portable making it easy to move around with and not get tired of holding in your hands. This camera is extremely worth the money and i would definately say that if you are in the market for a new camera then this is the one for you....

Review of Canon PowerShot SX10 IS

Canon by name, average by nature!

Advantages: Good face detection, very robust and a good looker.
Disadvantages: Motion Detection Technology not all it is cracked up to be and other small niggles!

...Canon are a huge name in the world of photography and they have produced some very fine cameras, including some excellent top end DSLR`s. I have never been their biggest fan when it comes to point and shoot cameras and I almost always find something lacking in theirs when compared with the Cyber shots and Samsungs of this world so when I was handed the Canon Powershot A480 and asked to put it through its paces and give an opinion on it, I have to admit I did not expect to be blown away by it. Firstly I should say that aesthetically it will satisfy the needs of many as it can be bought in four colours, silver, black, blue or deep red, so that is the ?my camera looks better than yours? taken care of but is it any good? It has a ten megapixel capability, a 3.3X optical zoom and a 2.5 inch LCD screen, so it is pretty much on a par...

Canon Powershot SX200 IS

Advantages: Lots of zoom, lots of pixels, sturdy
Disadvantages: No internal memory, flash pops up whether you want it to or not

.... It's not as small as some compacts but if you manage to get hold of a Canon case then you can fit the camera, spare battery and a couple of cards inside it quite easily. It is 10cm wide, 6 1/2 cm high and 3cm deep (excluding zoom), and has a metal body which feels quite sturdy. It sort of curves outward on one side so you can get a decent grip and hold the camera steady. On the top of the camera body there is the on/off switch, dial with all the different modes (auto mode, easy mode, portrait, landscape, night snapshot, kids and pets, indoor, sunset, video, manual mode, aperture priority, shutter priority and program mode), and the shutter release button which also controls the zoom. The back of the camera is mainly taken up by the 3 inch viewscreen which does make framing shots very easy. There's a menu button, display button...

Canon G10: does most things very well, some things briliantly

Advantages: Picture quality, portability, 5x zoom, RAW shooting, high-res monitor, manual options
Disadvantages: Noise at higher ISO

...Why buy a Canon G10? For about the same price you could get an SLR with a much bigger sensor. And whilst at 80 ISO the G10 with its 14.7 megapixels actually gives better resolution than Canon?s 1000D SLR, at 400 ISO and above its resolution falls away and noise increases dramatically. But at the SLR?s base price you would not get a 28-140mm (equivalent) zoom; and the G10?s compactness and light weight make it a far more attractive option as a camera that you can take with you everywhere. It does most things very well, and some things brilliantly. The most direct competition in a compact comes from the Panasonic LX3. While not quite matching the LX3?s low light performance the G10?s superior zoom (5x as opposed to 2.5) makes it far more versatile, and at low ISO it has superior, not to say stunning, resolution. So what about the G10...

Canon has integrated the PowerShot A560 with a digital zoom with optical stabilizer precision 4x that, helped by the 7.1 megapixel camera which is equipped, allows the resumption of images very clear, defined and bright colors, in a few short words .... image quality, and we realized when we made a series of photographic enlargements ... even with our printer ... home! In particular, at the time of shooting, you can combine digital zoom with optical reaching maximum values of 16x ... and this combination is perfectly displayed in the LCD monitor. The built-in flash ensures the recovery of photos even at night, though in the case of subjects and far too dark, you can easily connect a flash to the most powerful support bracket flash ... but you must buy a part! And I can assure you that even in low light...

Review of Canon PowerShot A560

I was not blown away by this Canon!

Advantages: Good build quality and easy to use.
Disadvantages: A lack of features, and not the quality you would expect from a 12 megapixel Canon.

...it is a canon and names in photography do not come much bigger than Canon but also it has the long title of the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS. This compact camera is taking compacts to a new level or at least trying to, with its 12.1 megapixel sensor and its optical viewfinder, trouble is the lens lets the sensor down and the viewfinder is a bit small for my liking so it is perhaps not so impressive after all, or is it? The first thing I noticed with this Canon in my hand was that it felt very robust and even a bit chunky, not good for a compact in some peoples opinion but for me a camera should feel like a camera and not like a credit card, and the better it feels in hand the easier it is to use. The buttons and controls on this unit were very easy to get to grips with and will not be too fiddly for those of you with larger fingers...

Review of Canon PowerShot A1100 IS

Yes, I Love Canon Powershot A480 !

Advantages: small, light, great pictures, easy to use, attractive, super cheap
Disadvantages: low battery power, lens-error

.... But, of course, there are some insufficiencies like the battery power is very very low. I have tried different battery brands, but I ensure you the best one is Alkaline. The advantage is the batteries are everywhere, you can buy it on supermarket near by when the battery power dies. I also hate the lens error thing. Canon Powershot A480 has a very poor lens, just took about one month before the lens made weird cracking sound. I was very afraid that the life of this camera would lasted only for one month. Fortunately, it still can be used. I asked my friend and he said I should take it to the service center. But, until today I haven't brought it to the service center because I think it's not really a big deal. The noises are awful though, you'll get people looking at you and your camera which they think is very old. But they don't know...
