Warning!!! Canon Digital Camera
Review of Canon PowerShot A70 by
mintsuper
Advantages: It was a good, powerful, easy to use camera
Disadvantages: Got manufacturer defect, Not very light weight
...I bought Canon Power Shot A70 from US a year ago. Now I am in UK and one day suddenly found my Canon LCD is just showing some horizontal lines instead of any picture output. I was sooo disappointed with this. Tried a lot to fix it but nothing happened. I was then just surfing the web for any instruction to fix this problem when I found an Announcement in Canon USA and also Canon UK site that these A series and many other Canon product [Other Canon Product List: Digital IXUS II, Power Shot A300, Power Shot A70, MV600, MV650i, MV700i, MV5i, MV6iMC, Digital IXUS 400, Power Shot A40, Power Shot A95, Digital IXUS IIs, Power Shot A310, Power Shot A75, MV600i, MV690, MV730i, MV5iMC, Digital IXUS330, Digital IXUSV2, Power Shot A80, Power Shot S60,Digital IXUS V3, Power Shot A60, MV590, MV630i, MV700, MV750i, MV5, Digital IUS430, Digital IXUS 500...

Small but great
Review of Canon PowerShot A5 Digital Camera by
cicymru
Advantages: see article
Disadvantages: see article
...Whist in Japan last year I decided to look at the new technology and walked away £250 the lighter but with a bargain. The camera is lightweight and a small item but gives fantastic results. The quality is quite fantastic. On the higher quality setting I can store up to fifty pictures but on the lower quality over one hundred and fifty. The only disadvantage is not having a zoom lens, perhaps I should have bought its brother the A5 zoom. Anyway I'm very impressed with Canon products.
There is a new Canon out that goes up to 3 million mega pixels but its very expensive....

Power Shot G2 pro camera, realistic price
Review of Canon PowerShot G2 by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Easy to use, robust
Disadvantages: Might not be easy to find on sale
...I love the Canon Power Shot G2 camera that I use in my working life as a journalist/photographer.
It is robust and strong, and is ideal for the busy professional who needs to take quality images quickly.
There are many features on this camera, macro feature and everything else you would expect from a camera of this type.
However, there is something you will not find, a digital zoom. The zoom on the Canon is an optical zoom and this means that the quality of photographs is always sharp and always crisp.
Many people have been severely disappointed when they have taken a new digital camera out of the box and found out that the so-called digital zoom returns sub-standard images.
As I say, this is not the case with the Canon Power Shot G2.
The image screen shows you exactly what the image will be and the screen can be put in a number...

excellent 8 megapixels DC
Review of Canon PowerShot Pro1 by
goldpeer
Advantages: easy operations, large LCD, fast focus.
Disadvantages: len is too long, and has slow to focus in dark light.
...Just bought from ebuyer. I got the best price in the UK. and it is very good digital camera so far I owned. the previous one is olympus C-8080. I have to say C-8080 was an excellent camera with dog's good quality pictures. however, the menu system is awful. naives have to learn some to gain the fluent operations in C-8080. Canon powershot pro1 is excellent in easy operation. the menu is very simple and almost there are all buttons on the camera corrsponding to the menu functions. the manual focus is good, like the normal camera operations. but the len is little bit longth when you shot telepictures. the focus is slow in dark light. movies clip is not as good as c8080 although they are using the same frame rate per second. overall the performance to price is good now....

Canon = complete control.
Review of Canon PowerShot A75 by
Bolly_eggs
Advantages: nice resolution on small camera, very easy to use. Fun to use.
Disadvantages: small zoom
...When looking around in the large selection of digital cameras my eyes wandered over the canon Powershot range in an Argos catalogue. I was looking for a high powered, compact digital camera which was practical for all aspects of non-professional photographic uses.
The canon A75 is a camera with a 3.2 megapixel sensor, in layman’s terms this means that on the resolution scale, this is reasonably high with maximum of 3.2 million pixels per picture. With many of the smaller models of digital cameras there is a low powered zoom and unfortunately, this is yet another addition to those aforementioned cameras. The 3 times zoom is rather low and can at time be slightly blurry, especially when taking close ups of objects or things not too far away.
One of the bonus’ of this camera is its straightforwardness, its incredibly simple to use...

Emergency buy, but better than just a substitute!
Review of Canon PowerShot A530 by
luk322
Advantages: Looks good, cheap, reliable, durable, good quality pictures, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Goes through battrys like no tomorrow (ReChargebles recommended)
...Buying my Canon A530 was actually a emergency buy as my FujiFilm E510 packed in on a holiday on florida. I payed $230 (£115) for it which also bought a 2Gb memory card for the camera separate, which would allow me to take over 1300 photos, so I was feeling pleased with it.
*****Ease of Use*****
This was my second digital camera so I had only been used to using my old one. But as a person who laughs in the face of any instruction manual, found the Canon very easy to use, especially good for beginners, but has alot of tricks and features up its sleave. For example, on playback mode when looking at a picture, if you turn the camera on its side, the picture on the screen will rotate the apropriate way so it can still be seen.
*****Specs*****
Although specs in the A-series cameras vary, the A530 offers:
- a 1.8 inch LCD screen
- 4x Optical...

Canon Powershot G3
Review of Canon PowerShot G3 by
STUARTSTIRLING
Advantages: Compact,full of features.
Disadvantages: Propiratory battery
...I have now ventured into the world of digital photography after over 20 years of using my faithfull Nikon SLR.
After spending several hours studying reviews, I decided to look for a lightweight compact camera that had the advantages and versatility of an SLR. The Canon G3 fills the bill admirably and it is one of the most feature packed cameras for its size and price on the market.
The camera is fitted with an f2.0 30-140mm zoom lens which can be expanded by digital zoom. It is fitted with a 4.0m pixel ccd which is capable of high resolution sufficient to produce A4 size prints without any trouble at all. The supplied 32m compact flash card will give 27 of this type of shot.
The range of features is beyond belief for this size of camera. It has a "flip design" tft screen which shows the exact image that the camera is going to take...

Canon can, and so can you
Review of Canon EOS 50E by
a4angus
Advantages: Canon quality; range of lenses available; good features
Disadvantages: Film - going the way of the dinosaur
...The 50E is an old fashioned Single Lens Reflex camera (that's look through the lens to you and me) which has been around for 5+ years now.
It is know as the Rebel in the US and other countries but is basically the same.
The camera would be an excellent budget buy for a beginner, or a good second hand buy for those wanting a cheaper option or second camera.
It can come with a range of lenses - depends on package/store.
I bought this with a 35-80mm Canon USM lens and later bought a 35-300mm Tamron lens to enable all shots from one lens.
Reliability
-------------
Had this for years now with not a thing wrong. Excellent build despite plastic parts in some places.
Pictures
------------
Leave it on auto and 99% of all shots will be infocus and correctly exposed. It struggles with bright backgrounds on darker subjects so you have to learn...

Disadvantages: No stabilazation
...is very light efficient, and true to form.
If Canon would add stabilization to this camera, I might start to quiver....
