Canon Quality

Advantages: Same Canon quality we have come to expect, great ISO capabilities.
Disadvantages: Buttons can get fiddly in the cold.

... Canon 500D Introduction Canons range of cameras is very impressive. Everyone can be accommodated for, there really is something for everyone. Camera Itself First off, the camera. The sensor on this model has a larger pixel count than many of its rivals and cheaper models in the range. The 15.1 megapixels on offer is more than enough for the market it is aimed at, these images will easily be blown up above A3 and still retain most of the detail. The new addition to this camera that sets it apart from the older models is the Full 1080p movies. Many photographers don?t like this new mode but if you don?t, then simply don?t use it. Having the functionality of a high quality video camera on family holidays and such will be welcomed by the enthusiast market at which this is aimed toward. One problem I found...

Prima -One of the Best!

Advantages: Covers many topics with affordable ideas
Disadvantages: You don't want to throw them out!

...Prima ? a magazine name known to many, and quite rightly so because Prima means first or leading and I feel it is a leading magazine in the area it covers and it certainly covers lots of areas. It started back in October 1986, and although at that time I thought it was expensive I did buy it as there was always a free pattern and I made a lot of my clothes in those days, so it was a bargain. This magazine has moved with the times and is bang right up to date now and is one of the popular magazines sold at most newsagents, although many people have it delivered as this is a perfect start to your day ? or used to be when post came in a morning! Although probably not aimed at the younger end of the market it does have some articles suitable for all ages. I always buy one at the airport at it is a magazine that you can pick up...

Prima - just for old ladies?

Advantages: Loads of ideas for your home, lots of beauty advice
Disadvantages: Some of it aimed at an older audience

...I was given a 12 month subscription to this magazine as a christmas present from my husband. I must admit when I saw the subscription was for Prima I was a little disappointed as my general opinion of this magazine without ever really reading one before was that this was meant for older ladies, not a 25 year old! However, my husband had also got me a subscription to Company, which is one of my favourites magazines so I thought,I'll read the first issue and if it's no good I will pass them on to my mum, it should be just up her street! (Bless him, hubby thought he knew which magazines I read, at least he got one right!) When the first issue arrived I was surprised to see how modern it looked from the front cover! Maybe my first opinion had been wrong? As I leafed through the magazine I found that it had articles ranging from...

PRIMA MAGAZINE

Advantages: Great and interesting magazine
Disadvantages: Lots of adverts

...Finding out that I was expecting again was a big shock for me. I am already the mother to 3 girls and in a few weeks I will be the 40. Anyone would think that I would know exactly what to do and how to do it but I don't think you ever get used to it and every pregnancy is different. My latest bundle of joy is due in October and will be born but caesarean. Like all expectant mothers I rushed out and bought baby magazines. I was surprised by the lack of choice but did find a monthly magazine that is very helpful and full of tips. The magazine is called Prima Baby and Pregnancy; it is just over 140 pages long. The first few pages have the index and what special features there are inside. They then introduce you to the experts that give advice throughout the issue. I found this to be very helpful as at least I know that they are...

Canon or a Brother ?

Advantages: Good print Quality
Disadvantages: Cartridge prices

...This review is for the Canon Pixma IP4700. Setup --------- This printer comes inside a box which is heavily packaged and first off all you get the power cable. The cable is wrapped with this tie back but the problem is that when you unwind the cable you notice how it wants to try and curl back up again so you do need to try and straighten it out as soon as you can. You receive the disc which has the drivers on which you need to install on the computer otherwise you have no way of printing items off without it. There is nothing else inside the box besides the cartridges which are easy to insert and use. The disc is good because it is so simple to install the items onto the computer and this takes about a minute to do. You do not get a connection to the computer though so you do need to purchase one yourself and many websites...

Prima's babyexpert.com

Advantages: Great all round site for parents of all ages!
Disadvantages: i spend too much time surfing on the site :)

...who join the site only to give bad advice and/or say nasty things to other people. This had obviously been a big turn-off and I had left those sites. Since I joined Babyexpert there has only been one incident of a "troll" entering the forums and it was reported and dealt with rather quickly. Quite amazing how useful one little site can be really. The site is hosted by Prima Baby & Pregnancy magazine. I got lots of information regarding pregnancy, birth and how to best involve to older child. There are a number of web chats held by the site the last of which covering how people physically and mentally might feel after childbirth and ways of coping. Various other topics include: Getting pregnant - Covers a rage of topics from trouble conceiving to getting pregnant after a miscarriage. Helpful as it gives information about healthy diets...

Canon Powershot SX200 IS

Advantages: Lots of zoom, lots of pixels, sturdy
Disadvantages: No internal memory, flash pops up whether you want it to or not

...I bought this camera recently as I purchased a Canon EOS1000D DSLR and I wanted a compact digital with a large zoom for the times when I didn't feel like lugging the DSLR and all it's accessories around with me. I'd looked around at other models, and I know that there are many other cameras that offer a much higher zoom, but I finally settled on this one for a number of reasons. a) 12 million pixels. This is more than I'll probably ever need as it's very rare that I print anything above 8x10 but it was an upgrade on my previous digital compact. b) 12x optical zoom. This is more than adequate for general photography, any more and I think you do probably need a tripod. c) NB-5L Li-Ion Battery. This is just a personal preference but I prefer the rechargeable Li-Ion batteries. It's fairly cheap to buy a couple of spares and I...

Diamond review  Prima time reading!

Advantages: Lots of personal advice, competitions, freebies.
Disadvantages: A lot of articles are repeated over the years.

...When I first found out that I was pregnant, to say I was surprised was a bit of an understatement. I began to stock up on all sorts of baby books and magazines to try and prepare myself for the big arrival. I purchased three or four books and found that not only did they cost a lot but they didn?t give me advice in a friendly way, and tended to read more like a text book. It was like being lectured at, and I found it disconcerting to say the least. Baby magazines however were available to buy at a much more reasonable price and are bright, have lots of gorgeous pictures, and are filled with up-to-date, friendly advice and tips. Now that my daughter is almost two I feel that I have come to a point with all of my baby magazines. I paid for a subscription to Prima Baby last year for the bargain price of £9.99 for the eleven issues over...

Review of Prima Baby

A slightly less explosive Canon.

Advantages: Typically good Canon images.
Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.

...Canon along with Nikon have for years been known as the kings of camera`s but with things changing rapidly in the DSLR market Canon had to think fast. All of Canons recent releases have been at the expensive end of the market and they have been rapidly losing ground to the likes of Nikon and the new kids on the block (Sony). The release of the Canon EOS 1000D in June this year (2008)was an attempt to get back in the entry level market and whilst I think it should have the desired effect I am still not convinced they have done enough to tempt people away from the less expensive Sony option. Many people myself included thought that the new Canon would just be a fresher version of the Canon EOS 400D and the only stand out feature available on this 1000D that the 400 did not offer was a live view, so were Canon trying to pull the wool...

Prima example

Advantages: Easy folding mechanism,
Disadvantages: Expensive end of the range

...When my daughter started sitting unaided, I decided to buy a highchair and as my house is not very big, I decided that a folding highchair would be my best option, and also the tidiest option as it could be easily stored when not being used. After looking at a selection in my local Mothercare, I paid £104 for the Prima Pappa, although I saw it a few weeks later reduced to £88, which upset me a bit. Some of you may think this is expensive, but when you consider the years of use this highchair will have to endure it is worth every penny. (SueMagee has just paid £4 less than this for a kettle!!!!) If you are looking for a lightweight highchair, then I would advise you to check out some other highchairs as this one weighs over a stone and a half, although it does not feel that much when you pick it up, and I managed to move it about no...
