Canon shot up a notch in my books

Reduced in a sale, the Canon Selphy CP600 cost me £60, and it was definitely £60 well spent. On my daughters birthday I got to take over and try the thing out, and it was very good. The Canon is designed to print photos up to 4 by 8 inches, and the speed of print was brilliant, about 70 seconds for a 4 by 6 inch borderless photo. In addition to offering good speed, it prints good looking output and comes with a rechargeable battery for full portability. So of course I had to steal it and take it to work (as I do with all my children's gadgets) to have a good little play so I charge up the battery (it takes roughly 2hr 30mins to charge from flat) and I took along...

Excellent Printer From Canon

...What a great printer! I bought one 12 months ago for my Canon Ixus digital camera (although this printer works with any "PictBridge" compatible camera) and haven't looked back. I'm sure if I added up the price of the printer and the paper/ink packs then it would take a very long time before I started saving money not using photo labs, but it's good fun to use and handy being able to print photos whenever you want (e.g. if a relative comes round and wants a copy). The printer is a real no-brainer to use with a PictBridge-compatible camera - just plug the camera into it and press the "print" button (it can also be plugged into a PC and used like a conventional printer). Review of Canon SELPHY CP500 Compact Photo Printer

Convenient occasional use photo printer

...The Selphy DS810 provides good image results for the price (I paid $20 / £10 new). The quality of the photo paper makes quite a difference to the final printed results. With good quality paper it looks like a professional print. The preview LCD is very cheap and low quality, but it is functional. The menu interface is a bit clunky, but also does what it needs. The printer has infrared for wireless conectivity with devices such as mobile phones, but considering the positioning which means the device needs to be held next to the printer instead of rested near it, and the fact that a 1MB photo takes about 2 minutes to transfer, it is useless. Bluetooth would have been a much better solution, but of course incurs a higher hardware cost. The other connectivity options are quite good, with a USB port to directly connect your camera...

Canon's A3 plus photo printer

Advantages: A3+ capability, fantastic quality, great software

...This is the second Canon A3 colour printer I've owned. I had the i9950's predecessor the S9000. The key advantage that this model has over the S9000 is the addition of two extra ink cartridges (red and green) to make eight in total. I've got to say that I'm delighted with the results the colours are very vibrant and there is a definite lift in the red end of the spectrum. It's very quick in operation with an A3 print coming through in 90-120 seconds (depending on paper and settings). The free Easyphoto Printer software which is bundled with the product makes is simple and intuitive to use. If you want to try before you buy the Canon UK website lets you send them a JPEG file over the web and they'll send you back a free sample 6" x 4" print, produced from any of their chosen printers. ...Well this printer came into my households life shortly before christmas 2006. We found it ideal around the christmas period as we had family round so we could easily take pictures and print them off. However there are some downfalls as they always are with these sort of printers. The colour cartridge has to be refilled every 40-60 prints which is dissapointing although to be expected i suppose. The photographs taken must be downloaded onto a computer before being printed off and there must be the software on your computer before pictures can be printed off. The photographic paper is kept in a small pocket but when it is being printed on it goes out the back, through the front, to the back again whilst various colours are applied. Canon MP 460 printer

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: poor photo prints

...to print over 50 different photos. All of them were left looking like everyone had freckels and skin tones were next to useless. Definatly not ones you want to show anyone. Even when put through a cleaning cycle there was no difference. On the bright side, when you printed text using only black ink it was crisp and very clear right down to no 8 font size. Apart from the nice looking screen area it has nothing to excite me. After using the machine for a week I have took it back to the shop, why, because of the banding, lack of colour depth and a sqeek on the slide rail when the cartridges are going across. So not really impressed with this one. I would stay clear and pay more for a good printer. Canon has failed on this one I think....

...I use the printer at work for various projects and it is superb. The color quality is excellent. It prints pictures and photos better than any printer I have used. The printing speed is fast and high quality. The printer is easy to use and easy to order supplies for. It is very reliable, I hardly have any paper jams with it and when I do it is very easily fixed. In the past I have used printers where when the toner runs out it is difficult to replace or order the correct replacement but not with this printer. Replacing items is extremely easy. This printer is a great value for the money considering the toners etc are not expensive as with a lot of other photo printers etc. I would recommend this printer to anyone....

...good. The quality is undoubtedly excellent, which is what you come to expect from such a highly rated company like canon. The colours are so life like and it would seem so bad to waste it with a poor quality picture so get a good camera please. -The software- The printer will work with any of the canon software or any Photo shop software either. The software provided is ok. It is basic but will allow you to crop and edit photos. It will also let you get rid of red eye and add anything too it if you wish. Some shops have this as an extra so don't assume you will get software with the printer. -Price- I can't argue about the price. It has ranged from £50 all the way down to £15 but most shops sell it at about £20-£25. This is a great price for such an amazing printer.
