Excellent Printer From Canon

Advantages: Excellent Print Quality, Fast Printing, Reasonable Price

...My printer had been playing up for a couple of months, I normally (99% of the time) only use it for printing in black for invoices, however I do occasionally print something off in colour and sometimes print a photo. It was missing one of the colours out now and again and so I decided it was time for a new one. Why Canon? My old printer was a Canon and although it was playing up it had served me well for about three years of constant use. I also think the design of the Canon printers is very good, I think they are far better to look at than most other makes and this is quite important when you are going to be looking at it everyday, sat on your desk. Review of Canon PIXMA iP4600

Canon shot up a notch in my books

Reduced in a sale, the Canon Selphy CP600 cost me £60, and it was definitely £60 well spent. On my daughters birthday I got to take over and try the thing out, and it was very good. The Canon is designed to print photos up to 4 by 8 inches, and the speed of print was brilliant, about 70 seconds for a 4 by 6 inch borderless photo. In addition to offering good speed, it prints good looking output and comes with a rechargeable battery for full portability. ...Well this printer came into my households life shortly before christmas 2006. We found it ideal around the christmas period as we had family round so we could easily take pictures and print them off. However there are some downfalls as they always are with these sort of printers. The colour cartridge has to be refilled every 40-60 prints which is dissapointing although to be expected i suppose. The photographs taken must be downloaded onto a computer before being printed off and there must be the software on your computer before pictures can be printed off. The photographic paper is kept in a small pocket but when it is being printed on it goes out the back, through the front, to the back again whilst various colours are applied. Canon MP 460 printer

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: poor photo prints

...to print over 50 different photos. All of them were left looking like everyone had freckels and skin tones were next to useless. Definatly not ones you want to show anyone. Even when put through a cleaning cycle there was no difference. On the bright side, when you printed text using only black ink it was crisp and very clear right down to no 8 font size. Apart from the nice looking screen area it has nothing to excite me. After using the machine for a week I have took it back to the shop, why, because of the banding, lack of colour depth and a sqeek on the slide rail when the cartridges are going across. So not really impressed with this one. I would stay clear and pay more for a good printer. Canon has failed on this one I think....

Convenient occasional use photo printer

Disadvantages: Expensive prints, PC print settings are tricky, poor LCD preview screen

...The Selphy DS810 provides good image results for the price (I paid $20 / £10 new). The quality of the photo paper makes quite a difference to the final printed results. With good quality paper it looks like a professional print. The preview LCD is very cheap and low quality, but it is functional. The menu interface is a bit clunky, but also does what it needs. The printer has infrared for wireless conectivity with devices such as mobile phones, but considering the positioning which means the device needs to be held next to the printer instead of rested near it, and the fact that a 1MB photo takes about 2 minutes to transfer, it is useless. Bluetooth would have been a much better solution, but of course incurs a higher hardware cost. The other connectivity options are quite good, with a USB port to directly connect your camera...

...I use the printer at work for various projects and it is superb. The color quality is excellent. It prints pictures and photos better than any printer I have used. The printing speed is fast and high quality. The printer is easy to use and easy to order supplies for. It is very reliable, I hardly have any paper jams with it and when I do it is very easily fixed. In the past I have used printers where when the toner runs out it is difficult to replace or order the correct replacement but not with this printer. Replacing items is extremely easy. This printer is a great value for the money considering the toners etc are not expensive as with a lot of other photo printers etc. I would recommend this printer to anyone....

With a lot of Canon printers, you have to fit a Printhead first. With the MP610 its no different. When you open the lid the printhead holder moves into the middle. The printhead fits in easily and locks down with a firm clunk of a little leaver. This cartridge is marked with the colours of the ink. They are easily fitted in and lock into place with a little plastic tag on the front of the cartridge. Thats that as far as they are concerned. Next you need to align the printer cartridges up. ...What a great printer! I bought one 12 months ago for my Canon Ixus digital camera (although this printer works with any "PictBridge" compatible camera) and haven't looked back. I'm sure if I added up the price of the printer and the paper/ink packs then it would take a very long time before I started saving money not using photo labs, but it's good fun to use and handy being able to print photos whenever you want (e.g. if a relative comes round and wants a copy). The printer is a real no-brainer to use with a PictBridge-compatible camera - just plug the camera into it and press the "print" button (it can also be plugged into a PC and used like a conventional printer). Canon MP620 All in one Printer

Advantages: Excellent Phot prints, excellent scanning, wireless capability
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky, wireless can be tricky to set up

...I bought this printer a few months ago to replace an old hp all in one which had lasted for a long time and sadly the print quality had diminished. With a large amount of options on the market I shopped around and came across the Canon MP620. It seemed to have all the features I was after including scanning, printing, card reader, photocopyer and wireless networking. Please note there are 2 other similar models in the range and as far as I know the MP610 is older and not wireless but slightly cheaper. Alternatively the MP630, which is more expensive is also not wireless but is faster in producing more prints per minute. So far, since using it I can report that the MP620 is an excellent all round printer. Great quality prints and excellent scanning makes it perfect for my needs.
