CanoScan LiDE 100 - I Love My LiDE

Advantages: Fabulous quality for scanned documents, both colour and B&W
Disadvantages: Somewhat slow when scanning at highest resolutions

...I bought my CanoScan Lide100 for home use earlier this year (2009) after having used the CanoScan Lide 25 at work for 3 years or so. Having used it for several months now, I thought it was time I shared my views on how it fares as a flatbed scanner. Anyone who really knows me will know that I'm obsessed with taking photos and have 1000s of digital photos stored online and I really wanted to scan in my old photos pre-digital era and wanted a decent scanner mainly for this reason. Advantages: Very slim and stylish
Disadvantages: Browsing files makes it very slow.

...The Samsung U600 is the slimmest slide phone, even slimmer than the trendy D900 which is now replaced by u600. I bought mine for 85 pounds which is a dark blue colour. It has an amazing 3.2 mega pixel camera if you look how thin the phone is, with flash and 4x digital zoom. If you take a picture of a business card it recognizes all the field and enter them automatically, this is a new feature. It also records videos in mp4 format and the maximum video size is 352 x 240 which is good. It has a 2.2 inch TFT 262k colour screen which has great graphics because I downloaded 'Horton hears a who', converted it into MP4 format and saved it on my phone to see if it works and it worked. Advantages: Looks good, easy to use
Disadvantages: Scratches easily, turns itself off randomly

...I got this phone about 11 months ago on an upgrade with T Mobile. I had no idea what phone I wanted but when I explained the functions that I needed, the Samsung U600 was suggested to me. It is a nice looking phone, grey, small and thin, you can carry it in your pocket without it being too bulky. It is a slide phone with a large screen. The number buttons are under the screen and are displayed when you slide the phone down. The menu and call and hang up buttons are touch screen. To describe some of the features that the phone has- Camera- It has a 3.2 mega pixel camera which is very good quaility, however it annoys me how it takes a while for the camera to capture the picture before it actually takes it. CanoScan - great quality scans at the touch of a button

Advantages: Quick, easy to use, quiet, great quality scans
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive

...The Canon CanoScan is a great all-round flatbed scanner. It is a good size (25cm x 36cm x 4cm) to enable all regular scanning, whilst not taking up unnecessary desk space. It has a resolution of 4800dpi x 4800 dpi, which results in great quality scans, of both black and white or colour documents/images. Whilst I have been rather let down by other scanners, this one is really easy to use and gives fantastic results. It is easy to scan in regular sheets/photos, but the lid also allows you to scan notebooks etc. Although other scanners I have used have allowed you to do this, the results have not been so good; often having the lid slightly ajar results in bleached patches of the scanned document, due to light getting in. ...Having only ever owned a Samsung phone throughout the many phones I have owned in my life, I decided to carry on the tradition by buying the Samsung G600. It has served me well and has a number of really good features. One of the best little features I found with this phone was that there are a number of nice backgrounds preloaded onto the phone that can be changed in the settings menu. I currently have the puma background that shows up in the main menu behind all the features on the phone like messages. I also like the espresso theme but I find the puma background the nicest. Between the phones memory and the sim card, 1000 contacts can be stored in your phonebook, and 200 messages in total can be stored in the text message folder. To be honest I really dislike the fact that you can only store 200 messages, as I will never fill up...

...I recently decided to change from a pay as you talk to a contract pay as you go tariff. Looking at the phones available, i saw the G600 and was impressed by the look of the phone, so i risked it knowing not a lot about it and the risk paid off. Physically, the phone is very classy and sleek. It is a very smart phone and i have received numerous complimnts about the phone from people at work and in my family. My brother liked it that much that he decided to buy one. The screen is quite big so the menu and other features are easily read, but it doesnt look to big. It isnt bulky or big like i thought it may look. The camera is the most amazing feature about the phone. The 5megapixel photos are truly phenomenal, i didnt even bother taking a camera on a night out as the picture quality is of such a high standard that it was unnecessary...

Advantages: Fast, film scanning, high resolution
Disadvantages: poor film scanning, no standby button

...than my old scanner. Previewing an A4 page takes just a few seconds. Scanning an A4 colour page at 300 dpi takes about 12 seconds, 600dpi 24 seconds. Scanning film takes a fair bit longer, I think it was over a minute at a high resolution. Quality = This scanner scans colours very faithfully; I have had no problems or complaints. Canon rate this scanner with 48 bit colour depth, which is useful for scanning film. The scanner has a very high resolution - It can scan documents up to 1600x3200 dpi, and film upto 3200x6400 dpi! Advantages: Gorgeous, thin, light weight!
Disadvantages: Freezes during texting, turns off and then eventually is coput!

...I loved my U600 when I first got it. It is a very nice looking phone, it is very thin and strong and although I had a case on it, it hardly looked used. However after a few months it started to freeze whilst I was sending text messages. It would switch itself off and restart itself again and so I eventually couldn't send text messages because the phone would switch off every time I tried. It would allow me to make calls but if, like me, you mostly text then this became terribly problematic for me. I was not the only person I know that had had this problem with their U600, infact everybody I know that had one had said that they were experiencing similar problems, even if not as extreme as mine my friends were still experiencing the minor problems that I started with. However, I would say that it is not a phone, that should be used as a buisness phone, or one which would you used all the time, as the battery strength and endurance is not too good. Also, there is a rather limited amount of applications available. There is no satellite navigation or maps available, which for some people can be frustrating. Also, a real negative I have found with this phone, is that the internet services on it, are very poor indeed.
