CanoSCAN LiDE 20 - Slim Perfection
Advantages: Slim, small, lightweight, portable
Disadvantages: Little bit noisy
...I bought my laptop a few months back and figured id buy a new scanner while I was there. I wanted something small, lightweight, portable and good looking ? for a reasonable price. And I found it.
The CanoScan LiDE 20 is one of the lightest, most portable scanners I?ve seen - It weighs next to nothing, and I frequently carry it in my laptop bag when im moving around.
The scanner itself features three ?EZ? buttons ? which couldn?t make scanning any more simpler. One press and your away. It comes with a nifty little stand, which allows for upright scanning ? which is perfect, if like me you have limited desk space. Another great feature is it?s ?Z-Lid? making it possible to scan large items that wouldn?t normally fit under a regular scanners lid ? such as large books. The fact that it is bus powered, means you don?t have extra cables...

Canoscan LiDE 90
Advantages: Easy to use, Affordable, small design and looks really nice.
Disadvantages: Hinges seem flimsy and once the scanner failed to load.
...If you need a Sleek, High Quality and Affordable scanner, Look no further. It is so simple, Put the document in, press scan, DONE!!! I paid £50 for my scanner, the image quality is spectacular. The Pros are; Easy to use, Affordable, small design and looks really nice. The Cons are; Hinges seem flimsy and once the scanner failed to load. Another Pro is that it is small and light, which means, that if the lid falls while you are loading documents, it wont break your fingers or cause permanent damage, unlike my last one. The package comes with power cable, software, User manual and Certain software discounts. If you are looking for a professional, but easy to use scanner, from a reputable company, You can not go wrong with the LiDE 90....

CanoScan - great quality scans at the touch of a button
Advantages: Quick, easy to use, quiet, great quality scans
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive
...The Canon CanoScan is a great all-round flatbed scanner. It is a good size (25cm x 36cm x 4cm) to enable all regular scanning, whilst not taking up unnecessary desk space. It has a resolution of 4800dpi x 4800 dpi, which results in great quality scans, of both black and white or colour documents/images.
Whilst I have been rather let down by other scanners, this one is really easy to use and gives fantastic results. It is easy to scan in regular sheets/photos, but the lid also allows you to scan notebooks etc. Although other scanners I have used have allowed you to do this, the results have not been so good; often having the lid slightly ajar results in bleached patches of the scanned document, due to light getting in. However, I have personally not suffered any problems like that with this scanner.
When scanning documents, text comes...

Canon LiDE 35 Scanner
Advantages: lightweight, fast and easy to set up and use. nice slimline design.
Disadvantages: None that I have found
...A few months ago my old Agfa Snapscan 1212 gave up the ghost. Not surprising because I've had it since? it's been that long I honestly can't remember! It connected to the computer via the parallel port and was slower than the M25 with just one lane open. Mind you, just like the M25 when I first used it I thought it was terrific!
It was in PCWorld that I first looked at the Canon LiDE35 - I'm afraid I wanted this machine so badly, I didn't shop around and bought it there and there. I loved its slim looks and the fact that it didn't need it's own power supply. It works directly from the USB connection.
The scanner was well packaged in a nice strong box with a carry handle that I found handy to keep it stored when it's not in use. The software was child's play to load and easy to understand. It also linked itself to my Photographic...

Can CanoScan scan for Canon?
Advantages: Small, slim, light and practical
Disadvantages: No slide copier
...Canon CanoScan
The Canon CanoScan LIDE 60 is one of my most recent buys.
It has a very hard act to follow in my study - an HP Scanjet 6300 which I reviewed some time ago.
Buying
The HP decided to die on me, just when I needed it in connection with a funeral!
I needed to scan a photo for an order of service in full colour, and the HP was lifeless.
A quick trip to PCW was my only hope, and faced me with a dilemma. Would I go top of the range - my normal approach - or get by with something cheapish.
The latter was the option which led me to the Canon. At under £50 it seemed to offer all I really needed, and did the job perfectly once I got it home.
Appearances.
This is a wonderfully light, slim model - and sits on its edge on the desktop if need be.
26 cms by 38 cms by 4 cms deep is all...

Fast scanning at an affordable price
Advantages: Can scan large items, fast.
Disadvantages: n/a
...So there I was in Curry's looking for a good scanner, what I didn't what was a large thick scanner that would take up most of my desk space, and lo and behold I found the LiDE 20 a flat and I mean flat scanner that would just fit in with the amount I
wanted to spend only £60.
After getting the LiDE 20 home, I unpacked it and book a quick look at the size of the manual, oh my god, the manual was virtually the same size as the scanner, but after a closer look the manual is split up into seven different languages, so the first
fourteen page were the English text.
SETTING UP THE LiDE 20
----------------------
Nothing could be simpler, remove the protective tape from the scanner and unlock the scanning mechanism via a switch underneath, then simply plug in the USB cable supplied and turn on your PC.
When your PC detects...

A Near Perfect Scanner
Advantages: Sooooo many features
Disadvantages: A little slow to scan at the highest resolution
...We use the CanoScan Lide 25 (which I'll refer to as Lide 25 from now on) at work and a handy little scanning tool it is indeed. It's very slim and lightweight and sits nicely on my desk, ready to jump into action whenever I need to scan a document or photo. You can copy directly from the platen (glass screen) to your printer or print or even email and it's very easy to set up.
AN ABUNDANCE OF FEATURES
The Lide 25 uses a USB connection so you don't need a separate power supply which is very handy indeed - saving on energy is always a better option.
Unlike other home scanners I've used in the past the Lide 25 scans to a fairly high resolution of up to 1200 x 2400 dpi so when scanning photos you get very good quality images. The software that comes with the scanned allows you to scan documents to PDF too and you choose...

Canon Can-Scan LiDE 50
Advantages: Very conpact design that does not hinder performance
Disadvantages: quite slow becasue its not mains powered. Not as good as the desktop models
...aluminium, it?s of good quality and it looks good too. One the front is four EZ-Buttons, for; scanning, printing, emailing and photocopying. These buttons are very useful if you want to just quickly print off a document or email one to you friend for some reason. This scanner also uses up minimal desk space so you can have enough room for other stuff. One thing though is, try not to get the top of it scratched, bad thing!
There is one USB port, and that is the only port. How simple. This is really good, seeing as I travel constantly so now I can only carry around one USB wire with me. Because its USB powered, you don?t need a mains plug either. The USB is version 2.0 so it is the fastest
Installing this scanner is a breeze, so long as you don?t install all of the software, as I said above five cds for software and manuals, how many more do...

Oh you pretty thing...
Advantages: Small, neat and very pretty
Disadvantages: None as far as this simple soul is concerned
...Introduction:
I had a very fine scanner made by HP but my new PC would not accept the PCMCIA card that came with it so a trip to the superstore was in order.
Time was at a premium as I had to print several dozen pamphlets and these had to include many scanned photographs. Not having the benefit of a pile of PC magazines and several days to read them I went purely on the box description and the price.
Also the LiDE 20 was an attractive looking item with a size not much bigger than one of the aforementioned PC Magazines.
I handed over my £64 and took it home.
So there I was in Curry's looking for a good scanner, what I didn't what was a large thick scanner that would take up most of my desk space, and lo and behold I found the LiDE 20 a flat and I mean flat scanner that would just fit in with the amount I wanted to spend...
