...With constantly All In One's taking over the market of stand alone scanners... some people started to predict that stand alone scanners will soon be a history. But they are wrong.. because although AIO printers can scan upto a very good mark but they are not as good... this stand alone flatbed scanner give you a perfect high resolution scan without wasting a lot of your time as much scanners or AIO printers do... this scanner has a very different strategy from the rest that provides you a high quality photo scans at a reasonable one time price... So on the basis of above discussion i would like to conclude that .. although AIO printers are taking over the market but flatbed scanners will not lose their existence and if you don't need a printer then why waste money on those expensive AIO's if all u need is just a scanner......

Canon LiDE 35 Scanner

Advantages: lightweight, fast and easy to set up and use. nice slimline design.
Disadvantages: None that I have found

...A few months ago my old Agfa Snapscan 1212 gave up the ghost. Not surprising because I've had it since? it's been that long I honestly can't remember! It connected to the computer via the parallel port and was slower than the M25 with just one lane open. Mind you, just like the M25 when I first used it I thought it was terrific! It was in PCWorld that I first looked at the Canon LiDE35 - I'm afraid I wanted this machine so badly, I didn't shop around and bought it there and there. I loved its slim looks and the fact that it didn't need it's own power supply. It works directly from the USB connection. A Near Perfect Scanner

Advantages: Sooooo many features
Disadvantages: A little slow to scan at the highest resolution

...We use the CanoScan Lide 25 (which I'll refer to as Lide 25 from now on) at work and a handy little scanning tool it is indeed. It's very slim and lightweight and sits nicely on my desk, ready to jump into action whenever I need to scan a document or photo. You can copy directly from the platen (glass screen) to your printer or print or even email and it's very easy to set up. AN ABUNDANCE OF FEATURES The Lide 25 uses a USB connection so you don't need a separate power supply which is very handy indeed - saving on energy is always a better option. CanoScan - great quality scans at the touch of a button

Advantages: Quick, easy to use, quiet, great quality scans
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive

...The Canon CanoScan is a great all-round flatbed scanner. It is a good size (25cm x 36cm x 4cm) to enable all regular scanning, whilst not taking up unnecessary desk space. It has a resolution of 4800dpi x 4800 dpi, which results in great quality scans, of both black and white or colour documents/images. Whilst I have been rather let down by other scanners, this one is really easy to use and gives fantastic results. It is easy to scan in regular sheets/photos, but the lid also allows you to scan notebooks etc. Although other scanners I have used have allowed you to do this, the results have not been so good; often having the lid slightly ajar results in bleached patches of the scanned document, due to light getting in.
