The Cape of great hotel!
Advantages: Great location
Disadvantages: Not that family friendly
...The Radisson SAS Waterfront was a great hotel situated on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, with views of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Robben Island and Table Mountain. The hotel was just on the edge of the town centre. Most hotels are located around the Victoria and Alfred waterfront complex and, as such, have particularly steep prices. The Radisson was walking distance to the V&A waterfront but did not suffer from extortionate prices (our room came in at about £70 a night). It had a sizeable car park and was well situated for driving down the coast of Cape Town.
At the time of booking, we were not offered a choice on rooms so ended up with a basic room only. This was fine but we missed out on views of the harbour that could be seen from rooms at the back of the hotel. The room was spacious (approx 36 sq meters) with a king size...

Cape Town, the place to be
Advantages: Great Scenery, Value for money, Pristine beaches
Disadvantages: not much
...Cape town is an aersome place. i love it so much and would highly recommend anyone visit it. From pristine wite beaches, the awesome mountan and the V&A waterfront, this is the place to be! It is also very cheap whe nyou are coming over from the united states or europe bercause of the exchange rate. a beer costs around $1 - $1.50. Cape town is relatively safe compared to most south africa ncities, especially johannesburg, mostly due to the huge tourist industry. cape town is pretty small and easy to travel around. there is no trains or decent bus service, but you can hire a car for really cheap, and the are tour buses in the city. i highly recommend going there

Cape of Good Holidays!
Advantages: Beautiful veiws and gorgeous weather! Very cheap with exchange rate!
Disadvantages: Expensive flights, not safe at night!
...This time last year I was in the beautiful country of South Africa, sitting by my aunties pool sipping Guava Juice, and letting the glowing rays turn my skin into a warm brown.
My mum and I went out to South Africa to visit relatives, my Nan (Mum?s mum) my Auntie and her husband and three children (Whom I have never met before) and my Granddad?s brother (My Mum?s uncle) and his family. This was always going to be a holiday full of memories; I have not seen my Nan since I was eight and the rest of my family since I was two. We were to stay in South Africa for 3 weeks, we stayed in Durban for the first week and for the second we headed of to Cape Town, my Auntie although having lived in South Africa for 23 years had never been to this amazing place. So we took our selves on a mini bonding trip to Cape Town, My mum my aunt and I got...

Cape Town
Advantages: Lovely place, nice people, cheap shopping, good food
Disadvantages: You may run out of things to do
...Ooh.. what a lovely place. I was in Cape Town for the Millennium celebrations, and I had also been there four years before. It was an unforgettable experience.
The hotel organised a huge banquet with special plates that say the Vineyard 1999-2000. We were allowed to take these home, as well as the specially embroidered serviettes.
The people were lovely there, always saying nice things and complimenting you. The hotel was stunning - we got to stay in the Mountain View suite, and the views were breathtaking.
To do, there was a big selection. We went in to town a few times, and there was lots to do there. Shopping, and all very cheap! Another day we visited the beaches and went for a swim and there are many more activities to take part in, but I admit it could get a little boring. Robben Island is a must see - here you are able to...

Beautiful Cape Town
Advantages: The most beautiful city in the world, the view of Table mountain from the ocean
Disadvantages: The rumor says that there is a lot of crime
...This review actually starts in Johannesburg but most of the time was spent in Cape Town and that is why I have chosen to categorize it under "Cape Town"
I landed in Johannesburg (also know as Jo?burg) on the 31st of January 1999. The first few days were a bit amputated due to the fact that KLM, together with the Norwegian airline company Braathens, managed to send my luggage to Aberdeen, in Scotland, instead of sending it to Johannesburg. It took them 4 days to locate it and deliver it to me.
I don?t think that Johannesburg has that much to offer to tourists. The Kruger Park is not that far from the city and many use this city as a starting point for safaris. I have to admit that I didn?t go on a safari during my stay in South Africa. I only stayed in Joburg for two days before moving on to Cape Town. Cape Town is in my opinion...

the western cape - well worth a visit
Advantages: stunning scenery, quite cheap, dolphins, no jet lag
Disadvantages: very very touristy in places, can be dangerous
...(they're farmed so you don't eat the ones you see), kinda a cross between squid and chicken (why does everything taste of chicken??)
and apparently they are setting up cage diving with crocs so you will be able to see wht they are like in the water...could be quite interesting.
My favourite trip out of plett had to be the one to cape town, the city had such a buzz about it and i wish i could have stayed longer, 3 days wasn't really enough, especially after an 8 hour coach ride to get there. there was only one reason why i originally went to cape town - for my, as i like to call it , great white shark snorkel - i actually did this 2 hours out of cape town in gansbaai, the same place that channel 5 did the celebrity shark dive, during some kind of shark week they had.
It did cost 900rand (and that was with a discount)plus 200rand...

Cape(d) Crusader - No Robin' you with this wine.
Advantages: Also available in a 1.5 litre bottle.
Disadvantages: I only bought the 75cl bottle.
...Good old Scampi must be ambidextrous because he's drinking wine and typing at the same time in his one fingered style, hic ! This time it's a little South African number from the Co-op called quite simply 'Cape White'.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF WINE
Probably one of the oldest recipes known to man. Somewhere in the world wine has been made, in one form or another, for around 7,000 years. Historians reckon that the first winemakers lived near the Black Sea in Eastern Europe - the area now known as Georgia.
However, it was the Greeks and the Romans who exported their vines and wine expertise throughout the Mediterranean and estern Europe. During the middle ages, monks became Europes most productive and expert winemakers. By the early 1800's, European vines were growing in South America, South Africa and Australia. North America had...

The Fairest Cape
Advantages: Great sceneary and lovely weather
Disadvantages: possible crime fears- mostly unfounded
...The Western Cape, with its mountains is the most attractive of all of the nine provinces. It is also the most popular region of the country, the province is the most southerly of South Africa and its coastline is bordered by both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. It is home to the most southernly point of Africa, at Cape Agulhas, which is al;so the point where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet - a simple yet dramatic stone cairn marks the exact spot, about 200 yards past Agulhas Lighthouse.
The Western cape is the centre of the fruit and wine making industry of South Africa. The best time to visit the cape is between December and March when the long days are hot and the evenings are pleasently cool if occasionally windy.
Cape Town is undoubtably the regions best known town and is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful...

The beauty that is Cape Town...
Advantages: Stunning Scenery, It's History, So much to do!!
Disadvantages: Crime Rates
...On your arrival in Cape Town, you straight away become familiar with the sheer divide of the rich and poor as you make your way past row after row after row of townships (shanty towns). You should be aware that as you drive around Cape Town, people will come up to your car and try sell you things. It is worth keeping doors locked at all times and at night time try to prevent stopping completely because there is a high crime rate during this time.
There is plenty to do and see during a stay in Cape Town, I have experienced a few which I believe are definately worth a trip to. A must is Table Mountain, which can either be walked or most commonly now (due to crime rates) reached by use of the cableway which takes visitors right to the top. This is very safe and is fixed with a rotating floor to enable visitors to see all views possible...

A Heaven on Earth. Cape Town and its surrounds
Advantages: Beautiful, fantastic value for money
Disadvantages: Crime.
...The first view of Cape Town and the surrounding Cape lands was from the air. It was one heck of a view. The wild coastline views gave way to the City sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain; truly impressive even from the height I was at. That bit of fortune was due to the KLM Captain being a head of schedule and in a good enough mood to offer flying us around the coastline. The whole plane mumbled its improvement. Of course if that was his flight path anyway he fooled us all well.
This was the beginning of a three-week holiday with a friend, which took in Cape Town, Cape Point, the Garden Route to Knysna, the Little Karoo and the Winelands region. Although only a fraction of the Western Cape is covered, this, I hope, will give you a feel for the region. Tempt a little.
Once on the ground things were...
