Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec

Advantages: A great car from all angles
Disadvantages: Not as many extras included as I would have liked

...I am now the proud owner of a ford focus 1.6 zetec and for the first time in many years I have actually found a car that pretty muc suits all my needs. I have spent many a time in cars that are too big, too small, not suitable, not comfortable etc but this is everything I could ask for. I own the three door version but the doors open widely and when the front seat is moved forward there is plenty of room to get anyone in the back, even my mother in law who is disabled. The back of this car is extremely spacious, comfortably fitting 3 large adults in. The boot size is deceiving in that it looks pretty small but is very spacious indeed. Perfect for all those shopping bags as well as a childs pushchair. The actual drive of this car is superb. Mine runs on unleaded and is very economical. I can get over 200 miles to £35...

Ford Focus 1.6 - Shocking!!

Advantages: Handling and Looks

...Two years ago I decided to buy a brand new car, and after much research I decided upon the Ford Focus 1.6 (old style now). Everything I had read pointed towards a really good choice. So I went into my local Ford dealer and a week later I had my nice new car. First thoughts were a good looking car, well built, fantastically smooth to drive, held the roads amazingly well. All of the equipment worked wonderfully well and I absolutley loved my new car. Then the problems began.... After two weeks the Airbag Modulator failed, so I went back to the dealer, and they replaced the faulty part within a few days. They wouldn't let me have a courtesy cat so was left hanging around the dealers for a few hours. All work was under warranty so no cost to me. Three weeks after the Modulator fault I was washing the car and noticed tiny rust spots...

Ford Focus Flight 1.6 16v

Advantages: Ease of use , smooth gear changes , good price
Disadvantages: None as of yet

...plus Ford give you 1 weeks Free Insurance with the car to allow you to sort out your own insurance (Ford did quote as well , over £300 more than i currently pay !!!). Great value for money and in the short time i've had it a pleasure to drive....

fiesta mk5 1.25

Advantages: nippy and easy to drive
Disadvantages: not alot of leg room for rear passengers

...I bought this car just under a year ago second hand. Bought the car for 1100. The car is very nippy for a 1.25 engine, can keep up with the more powerful engines. The car is very nice looking inside and out. Plenty space in the boot. The space in the front is pretty good for a small car but the space in the back for the passenger isn't to good especially if you have a long legged person in the front. The cars a very reliable, not had any problems with mine and if you do need part you can get the fairly cheap from scrap yard, also the mk4 is very similar so alot of stuff can be used off them. Its easy to manoevre and park. Tax and insurance is low for this car as well, so this is good for the 1st time drivers or someone who needs a car to get them to work and back and to do sum shopping. Ford KA 1.3

Advantages: Looks, Interior, Reliabilty (besides airbag)
Disadvantages: Airbag, pre1998 cars, back space.

...The Ford KA, officially an icon for Ford. The Ka was introduced in 1996 and my girlfriend bought the 1998 KA 1 model as her first car. It was obviously a 3-door model (the only option) but it was in a weird colour, it looked like brown, grey and silver mixed into one, but it was listed in the logbook as grey. The KA was originally designed to only have black plastic bumpers so in the event of a minor crash they could easily and cheaply be replaced. This model has the black bumpers, but having done 72000miles upon purchase they had done a feint grey colour and although the black bumper/trim polish is easy and cheap to buy from Halfords or anywhere, I would recommend (if you can afford it) to buy a colour coded one as they just look better and don?t have to be repainted even if the car doesn?t need it- as the black ones do. Is the Corsa 1.2 sxi the star buy?

Advantages: Small, reliable, easy to drive and safe
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption slightly high

.... The alloy wheels do come with locking wheel nuts, usually purchased separately. This will save you around thirty pounds to keep your wheels safe. ECONOMY Economy is fair, although one thing that becomes apparent within the first week of ownership is the amount of fuel used. Even though it is only a 1.2 engine, it has sports injectors meaning that the engine is squirted with a little bit extra fuel to give a small kick in acceleration.To keep fuel consumption low, you have to drive the car well below the national speed limit. Certainly not one of the cars strong points. The Corsa 1.2 sxi is insurance group 3, so is fairly cheap to insure. Road tax is relatively cheap too due to low emissions, that's if road tax can be called cheap these days. PERFORMANCE 0-60mph is hit in around 11 seconds with a top speed of around 106mph. Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i

clio1.2(debt free) to focus 1.6(mmm debt)

Advantages: heated windscreen, smooth ride, the fact that its not a clio(always good i find)
Disadvantages: its not as responsive as i thought it would be, got a big behind and not in a good way

...the ford focus is the most reliable car i've had, out of two. i've owned the car for just over a yr now and the only money i've shelled out was for the service, six months tax, and new brake pads(may have abused them slightly). so i can have no complaints espacially after my first car witch didn't have much going for it; if you can imagine driving around with a scarf held underneath the sunroof to stop it from leaking(i know you're screaming fix-it, but i'm so lazy) and a patched up paint job down the whole door from some t*t taking a key to it. specs of mee focus 1,6 zetec. 5 dr, petrol, heated windscreen, elec. windows, chunky ass cd player, lexus lights, 96 bhp(why not 100). the interior is quite good, nothing great. the zetec model has a silver finish on the centre console, it has.....wait for it 3 cup holders, a power output...

As a young mother with two small children I needed plenty of room in the back and a boot large enough to carry a pushchair as well as the weekly shop, I am happy to say that this car did not disappoint.   Cosmic Corsa. 1.0 verses 1.2 model

Advantages: Good range of feature. Cheap running costs.
Disadvantages: Very common cars.
