...Two of the biggest names in the Coffee business have joined forces again to create the Dolce Gusto coffee maker. Krups are already well known for making reliable coffee making machines, and by joining with Nescafe who, in my opinion, make the nicest tasting coffees - this machine got me interested straight away. Having opened the box - my first impression of the machine was that it was very simple in design but stylish at the same time. I went for the Black colour option, however there is also a Red and an Ivory option as well. All colour options have silver on them as well. The machine I purchased came with a FREE welcome pack which had a Latte Glass, Cappuccino cup with saucers and a variety of the coffee capsules, all in one box. Advantages: Great espressos and regular filter coffee
Disadvantages: Espressos sometimes are not hot enough

...good espressos, that's the challenge! But it succeeds! The only thing not perfect is their temperature, especially the first ones, they may get only warm, not really hot as I love. This way, I recommend you to pre-heat all the accessories, and you can easily do it on the machine itself. Putting the empty filter and the cups as if you were making a coffee, you'll warm the cups enough to make the first coffees with the right temperature. Another good thing, it makes 2 espressos at a time! Of course, if you stick to the basics, you'll get good coffee, but you'll be missing most of the machine capacities. ...*I think I should point out that this model is no longer on the market, however it has been replaced by a similar model, and a lot of my comments will apply to the new version just as they do to this old one.* I love coffee. I drink at least one cup a day and when I am sitting exams at least 726, or thereabouts. So it is imperative that I like my coffee maker. For that reason I have stuck with the Krups range for my last three coffee machines. Three? They must be rubbish if you've needed three! Ah, no. I will explain. First I had the bog standard stand alone Krups filter machine. It has a short squat glass jug and is fairly standard - it never changes over the years. ...I've had this coffee maker for over a year now and I have to say I'm very happy with it. It looks good in the kitchen, being black and silver, made from high quality plastic so is easily wiped clean, and has a good variety of flavours widely available, and reasonably priced. I received this machine as a wedding present, but I believe that it now costs around £90. At the time it was coming with a free accessories pack, comprising coffee capsules, a latte glass and a cappuccino cup and saucer. As far as I'm aware the product is still available with this accessories pack. ...There is nothing better than a hot cup of coffee as soon as I step into work. We are all coffee addicts so we formed a coffee club whereby we all clubbed together to buy a cofee machine and we try new and exciting blends on a weekly basis. After spending £40 on beans, we all decided that the choice of machine was quite irrelevnt as far as taste was concerned and so we bought a fairly cheap Krups F MD2 95 for £30. Made from black strengthened plastic the first impressions we all had when we opened it was that we should have gone for a chrome effect coffee maker. It looks bulky, dull and very plain. Brushing the looks aside, it is very functional and easy to use and this is where it redeems itself and has over the past week weeks led to much back patting with self congratulation at picking up such a bargain. ...I'd been thinking about getting an espresso machine when I saw the Krups Espresso Vivo on offer in Tesco last week, reduced from £79 to £69. You can pay anything up to £400 for 'the full monty' of coffee makers, so I thought it looked pretty good value. It is a neat, compact, easy-to-use espresso and cappuccino maker, predominantly in matte black plastic. It has a large, removeable water tank which is easy to fill either at the tap or on the machine itself using, say, a Brita jug. There are two switches on the top, one which turns the machine on to heat the water, and one which starts the espresso pump. There are two lights, a red one to indicate it is switched on, and a yellow one which goes out when the water gets up to temperature. There are quite reasonably priced machines, sometimes conjoined with a Filter Coffee Machine. They have a large heavy-duty screw top, through which you fill its tank with water. The water is heated, pressure builds and it passes at high temperature and low pressure through coffee grounds into a receptacle (often a little glass pot with a handle). It will be sold as an espresso maker. It’s a lie. I’ve got such a one, a Breville Anthony Worrall Thomson job – I was very underwhelmed with it. The truth. ...This is the most fantastic coffee machine around! The drinks are lovely, best cappuccino around even better than most cafe standards. so Far there are 6 different drinks available these are Lungo (plain black coffee), Cappuccino, latte machiato, chococinno (hot chocolate), espresso and iced cappuccino. They are all great. My mother in law has the Tassimo machine and the coffee doesnt compare, this is far better! only downside is there are never any offers on the pods so at £2.99 for a box of 16 pods (which make 8 drinks of the latte Cappuccino and chocolate) it is slightly expensive BUT worth it if you enjoy coffee. It takes barely a minute to heat up and is really quick and hassle free. simply fill the resevoir with cold water and place it back on, then when the green light stops flashing it is ready to use. click the pod...
