Gatwick Airport Car Parking: Review of Ace Parking

Advantages: Chauffer is waiting for you felt 1st class
Disadvantages: None

...4 weeks ago we decided to book a break to Glasgow. I was recommended by a friend to look for a company called Ace Meet and Greet at Gatwick Airport, on finding a site that advertised Ace I entered my details but on the results I couldn't see Ace any where. I decided to find them directly There website is called www.ace-parking-gatwick.co.uk and on talking to a very friendly lady, she informed me that the large websites charge a big commission to them to give them bookings. They have decided to let the customers come direct and get a better deal. I personally paid £45 for 1 weeks parking. These brokers where charging £60. holidayextras have a guarantee they wont be beaten but very easily they where. An email was sent to my inbox which I printed out. the day came and off I went with my directions to Gatwick. I called ace meet...

Car Parking for the Confused

Advantages: easier than a taxi/bus
Disadvantages: could work out expensive, handing over your car keys to strangers

...So as previously mentioned I recently flew to Scotland from Gatwick airport, living where I do I didn't want to be trying to get a train as getting to a train station is tricky and I don't want to be using taxis given how much it can cost to travel 80 miles even when one is prebooked. So knowing I was flying from Gatwick I used the Gatwick airport website to compare the prices of the nearby carparks, it came up with Park Plus as the cheapest by quite a considerable amount for the time period I was looking at. With a 4am drop off on Friday morning and 4pm latest pick up time on Sunday it cost me £18.60. Arriving at Gatwick airport you need to follow the directions to the South Terminal and the Long Term Parking, from here you enter the car parks, there are several but Park Plus was one of the first on the left and is clearly...

Airparks Car Parks Gatwick Airport

Advantages: Affordable and Reliable
Disadvantages: Once got date of return wrong, but were resolved this quickly

...Airparks is a company that runs a long term car parking facility at Gatwick Airport. I have used them on 3 different occasions when going on holiday. I usually prefer to use public transport to and from the airport but when the flight returns quite late I like to drive back. To book visit their website (www.airparks.co.uk), select the dates that you are looking to park for and they will quote a price. For 6 days this is in the region of £27 or £4.50 per day, so is not too bad. They are listed on several cashback sites, such as quidco and topcashback, so you can get around 10% of this back. You can pay by credit or debit card (credit cards have a £1.50 fee) and once payment has gone through you are sent a confirmation email with a reference number that you have to take with you when you go. The car park itself is located just off the A...

APH parking for Gatwick Airport

Advantages: Great value and convenience
Disadvantages: none

...Before my recent holiday to Majorca we wondered on the best way to get to Gatwick from Southampton. The cheapest quote we could get for a return taxi was around £90. Due to the times of our flights it was difficult to arrange a lift with either family or friends and after checking various other option including trains and national express we found a website for off-airport parking at APH parking, Copthorne. We got an online quote which was £37.10 plus VAT for 8 days parking. You receive an email to act as you receipt for the parking. We left for the airport at a time that suited us, we stopped for something to eat on the way up and had took a leisurely drive there which is something that we would not have been able to do had we taken one of the other options. On arrival at the car park (which was very easy to find) we had...

APH Gatwick

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Car can get damaged and driven more than anticipated

...After handing in my keys to APH Gatwick, when I returned to collect the car (which I used to go to the airport with) from APH car parking at Gatwick airport, (a) the battery was "completely" flat, (b) I found out that it had been driven 6 miles unbeknownst to me, (even though it says on APH terms and conditions 4.5 "at its premises at one of its parking sites" (i.e. they do not mention that their other parking site is a whole 3 miles away, meaning it was driven on the road while I was under the impression that it would be moved within its premises and not being driven on the public road, and (c) the system lever to open the bonnet was broken upon my return, meaning that they tried to jump start the car while at its other premises (even though the person I spoke to flatly denied this). I complained to the person on duty and he assured...

Europa for parking at airport

Advantages: Great for early starts to airport and leaving your car whilst on holiday
Disadvantages: None

...We are a family of six and getting to the airport is expensive for us as we have to take two cars and pay for two lots of parking. This Hotel solved all that and proved to be cheaper. We had a family room for £120 and got 15 nights parking thrown in. The hotel was easy to find - just off the M23 - 2 junctions from Gatwick Airport. The rooms are lovely and the hotel is great. It has a swimming pool, bar with big screen tv in it, and a restaurant, but if you don't want anything fancy for dinner then bar food is available also. The staff are friendly and helpful and even though it was a busy hotel it was very quiet once in the room. The shuttle bus was efficient, running every 30 minutes or so. I would recommend this hotel if you have an early start at Gatwick and also need to park the car for a week or so. I would definately recommend it...

Free Parking

Advantages: Strangely compelling
Disadvantages: A pretty dark subject

...Buy one get one free offers are quite possibly the greatest invention shops have given us. For all of us, it?s a chance to get something for nothing. But for the brave, it?s a world of opportunity. After all, if you already have one thing you?d really like in your hand, something you?d willingly pay the full price for anyway and they?re offering you something else, you?re getting it for nothing. So you have nothing to lose. It was this latter attitude that put Stuart Browne?s ?Dangerous Parking? in my hand recently. This particular buy one get one free offer was in my local Oxfam. Having chosen a book I knew I?d like, I could afford to take a chance on my other purchase. At worst, my total outlay would be about £1.50 and I already had something worth £6.00 in my hand, and something I knew I was going to enjoy. If I was going...

Gatwick Hilton

Advantages: Sounds prestigious
Disadvantages: Not good value for money

...Three weeks ago my husband and myself went to Austria on holiday. Now, normally, we would book our flight from Stanstead as it's just down the road, so to speak, but as this holiday was a present from one of our daughters and her husband, we accepted gratefully what she had arranged, which was a flight from Gatwick to Salzburg leaving at 6.05am. I didn't fancy spending all night travelling from Suffolk to Gatwick in time for the check in at 4.00am, so we decided to book a hotel close to the airport and travel down the night before. Well, I surfed the net and discovered the Gatwick Hilton for £139 for a double room. It sounded a lot but this also included 15 days parking, which would have cost around £70-80 on its own, and we didn't require breakfast that early in the morning. So, £139 for the room and parking seemed like a small price...

Review of Hilton London Gatwick Airport, London

Hilton Hotel, Gatwick

Advantages: Right on the Airport doorstep and connected via walkways.
Disadvantages: NOT cheap!

...This hotel is connected to Gatwick airport making it a cinch to use. The airport connects to this by way of following the signs along a few coridoors and into the Hotel. If you can get to Gatwick Airport by train, the hotel is quite easy to get to inside, just follow the signs. You stay under the walkways keeping dry and dont have to fiddle about with buses or taxi's. The rooms are quite basic considering the costs but, quite simply, you are paying for the convenience of not having to fiddle about with getting hotel buses to/from the airport. This is the real crunch of using the hotel. Naturally the rooms are ok with the usual facilites like on-suite toilets, TV, charge-able mini-bar, large bed unless you ordered a King-size. The food is pricey, as are drinks, but there is no need to be a captive audiance as its easy to...

Review of Hilton London Gatwick Airport, London

An amazing car seat

Advantages: safe, cosy
Disadvantages: none

...Where to buy: This car seat is readily available. You can buy it from all the shops you'd expect to be able to buy them from including Halfords, mothercare, john lewis', toys r us etc. What do they cost: prices vary depending up on offers and stores but usually this car seat retails at £100. How do they attach? This car seat is different to many of the others on the market. It clips onto a base which is attached to your car, This makes it easy to get the car seat in and out of the car without waking up the baby. The car seat base is attached by the seat belt securing it in place and a metal leg which keeps it stable. Are they comfortable? This car seat is very padded and so a nice cosy seat for your baby. It comes with a head hugger which makes it cosy and safe for a newborn. This headhugger can be removed revealing much...
