...For the first time in my life I've encountered 'dry' skin. My dry skin is not in anyway paralelled to that of somebody suffering the torture of eczema, or worse. To these people I bear a monumental conscience for whining atall. Generally, my 'dry' skin erupts after a bath, and left unattended, it has interferred with sleep, and drives me mad! The incessant itching and scratching, slowly graduating to soreness.....I count my blessings even so. My 'dry' zones are my hands, in between the fingers especially. The outer boundaries of the base of my feet, and worst of all, down the curvature of my spine. Worst because, I can barely reach it! Why weren't we fitted with double-joints all round?? Not being accustomed to this condition, I was at a loss as to know the best thing to use (or NOT use, for that matter), in order to rectify this...

Review of Vaseline Dry Skin Formula Lotion

Get rid of dry skin

Advantages: Effective, cheap, smells nice, makes your skin soft
Disadvantages: Quite runny, comes out of the bottle fast, leaks out of lid

...I get dry skin especially in winter time so I thought I would try Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion for dry skin. I have used others but I wanted to try a different one for a change. It comes in a 75ml tube with a flip lid. The tube is light yellow in colour with the name of the product in a blue box. It is not an eye catching tube to look at as it's just plain and simple really to look at. The flip lid is really easy to open so you don't hurt your fingers trying to open it. The lotion is yellow in colour, so it matches the tube. I find it quite runny though compared to other one's that I have used like Nivea. Also when you squeeze the lotion out of the tube, it comes out really fast, so you don't need to squueze it hard or too much comes out. You can use it all over your body as a moisturiser for dry skin. I use it on my hands...

Replenishing Dry Skin!

Advantages: Great smell, reasonably priced and says what it does!
Disadvantages: Doesn't come in a tub.

...myself with perfume this isn't a problem for me. - The texture This is surprisingly thin in texture. Given that it is a dry skin lotion, I was expecting it to be richer and thicker in consistency. Sainsbury's are certainly correct in their claim that it isn't greasy and it absorbs quickly in to my skin, in particular the drier skin sections. This is another positive for this lotion as so many others take what feels like an age to absorb in to your skin. - Effectiveness at hydrating my skin I don't have very dry skin all over but suffer from dry patches and flakiness on my shins, in particular during cold weather spells. This lotion has worked efficiently in these areas and has certainly kept the unsightly flakes at bay and has reduced the itchiness of these areas, if used regularly. ~ My Verdict ~ Overall I am pleased with this...

e45 - the dry skin hero!

Advantages: effective cream.
Disadvantages: a bit expensive

...I, like many others suffer from eczema and dry skin is often a problem. However, I think that e45 dermatological cream helps reduce the problem. E45 is non-greasy and unscented and helps to treat dry, flaking and chapped skin. It also helps sunburn too. Is there anything it can't do? Well it can't get rid of eczema completely but it dramatically decrease the problem. The product is also good as as it doesn't sting or cause any irritation. Just make sure to rub it in completely so there's none left wherever you've applied it and you'll have your skin smoother than a baby's bottom in no time! :) This one little tub does a big job. It's true what they say good things come in small packages....

Effective for baby's dry skin

As we were away for a few days and unable to consult our GP, I used Johnson baby Soothing Naturals intensive moisture cream on my baby. Johnson baby cream smelled awful and didn't work at all. So I had to turn to E45 cream. It claims on the tube that It is specially formulated for dry skin conditions, and has been clinically proven to treat and soothe dry, itchy, flaky, rough or chapped skin. ...I bought dermatological E45 cream for my husband, as he had dry skin on one of his fingers. E45 cream is for dry skin conditions. It comes in a white 50g tube. You can also buy it in a tub as well, but we have the tube. The cream is white and not at all greasy. This is good as you do not get all sticky using it. You can use E45 for the following skin conditions:- dry itching flaking chapped skin sunburn detergent hands eczema dermatitis ichyhyosis To use E45 apply the cream to the dry skin area 2-3 times a day. My husband usually used it twice. He would put it on first thing in the morning and then later on when he got home from work usually. We bought E45 from morrison's quite a while ago now. Ponds - Care for my Skin, moiturise and soften.

Advantages: Really quickly hydrates and softens.
Disadvantages: Fragrance.

Being so thick and rich, I did wonder if it may cause spots, I haven`t had any of these, or any clogged pores. Disadvantages. * * * * * * * * * * * * There aren`t many but I always look for negatives as well as positives when reviewing a product. Now I haven`t tried this one so I can`t say that it is a definite disadvantage. It does apparently provide a perfect make up base. I consider the cream to be a bit too thick, I would not trust it. I always use a thinner cream when wearing make up so that there is less interference with the make up. The cream does not have a sun protection factor (SPF). A Bargain Lotion for Dry Skin

...I bought this to deal with the skin on my legs which has become increasingly dry of late (well, that's what happens when you neglect to use a proper skincare regimen through the harsh winter months!). The main reason I chose this particular lotion was the fact that it was so cheap at only £1.95 for a 300ml bottle. The lotion comes in a transparent bottle which makes it easy to see exactly how much you have left, with a pump-action dispenser on top. I find this type of dispenser much more convenient than the usual squeezy bottles, as it gives a controlled amount so you don't end up with too much lotion that will take forever to sink into your skin. Seriously some of the best skincare that money can buy

Advantages: really really works and bottles last an awful long time

Unlike some brands that have set oily/combo or dry/sensative lines dermalogica allows you mix and match from their ranges to find the perfect tailor-made regime for you. I ended up purchasing Special Cleansing gel (for normal/combo skin), antioxidant hydramist (for premature ageing/dehydration), active moist (for oily skin) and multivitamin thermofolitant (skin ageing) and finally a hydrating booster for my excema prone bits...
