Man oh man!
Review of Man On The Moon DVD by  Ringo

Advantages: Great story line, good acting
Disadvantages: A bit wierd at the end

...Man on the moon is a film based on a true story about actor Andy Kauffman. The movie starts with Andy, played by Jim Carry, as a young boy dreaming of standing in front of a crowd full of people. The movie gows through his career - how he started, how he got his big break, and of course how he got his wife. It is a funny movie at first but later on it justifies why it is known as a drama. This movie is suited for everyone and I assure you that you will laugh and even cry during this brilliant movie.... Read review

Guitar Hero Rocks!
Review of Guitar Hero 2 (PS2) by  ivytoad

Advantages: Like being a real rock star!
Disadvantages: Expert mode is *very* hard to master..

...to master the difficult parts of the songs so you can get lots of high scores when you play career mode! I also liked that in career mode, at the end of each section you get an encore and a new song appears so that you can play it. I have to say though, it is wise to take breaks in between songs because I find that it hurts my eyes to play for too long, all that concentrating on playing the right notes! A really fun game, might even encourage people to play the guitar for real! It has a good range of songs on it, and if you get bored of the ones you play in career mode, the great thing is that you can buy more songs from the shop. Highly recommended!... Read review

spanish pilot, but the worst car
Review of Marc Gene by  interrailero

Advantages: few
Disadvantages: the car

...Poor Gene! A pilot really mistreated it doesn't only have more than enough the circuits but now I see that also here all they neglect it, indeed it is indicated as Geniuses! What to say of the, in the careers only leaves in the dubbings, undoubtedly he/she is maybe maybe the pilot that is bent by all, for the machine that is not extremely competitive for the continuous high pit..... However last year it has been able to take a point and often it has demonstrated of being tenacious. It is said that next year the Minardi will change maybe in that time motor for one more competitive, then they will be been able to see this Spanish pilot's true gifts! that sure he/she will give us happiness in the future. Marc in spite of its phone minardi gets times of the last ones in the trainings, but in career it always advances many positions although... Read review

Gimme more
Review of BBC1 - Gimme Gimme Gimme by  jr1290

Advantages: Great comedy
Disadvantages: None

...This is a really great show, and Kathy Burke and James Dreyfus make an absolutely fantastic team. Filled with camp 'back passage' jokes and the more than often hint of 'slag' humour, the two make for a really great comedy programme. One one side, you have Linda, the ginger tart, who is really ugly but believes herself to be beautiful who'll do anything to get a man (even break one out of prison). Then you have Tom, a gay actor who is trying to make something out of his career but just ends up in a bedsit, with the woman he loves to hate. I love this show, it has so many great lines. Watch it now!... Read review

Ground breaking game sequel
Review of Guitar Hero 2 with X-Plorer Guitar (Xbox 360) by  mcicp19

Advantages: Loads of fun
Disadvantages: Many songs are not by original artists

...Guitar Hero 2 is the popular sequel to the PS2 Game Guitar Hero. Release on Xbox 360 in April 2007 with additional content this game uses a guitar shapped controller to simulate playing real songs. There are 5 buttons at the top of the guitar which act as chords, and a strum and whammy bar for strumming and changing the sound. The game has many songs (some cover versions) from 1960's to 2000's, which involves playing scrolling notes by pressing the corresponding coloured button and simultaneously strumming the strum bar. You can use a normal Xbox 360 controller for this but it takes away from alot of the fun. 'Hammer on' and pull'off' functions have been added for GH2 to add to the realism of the game. The career mode offers the choice of about 8 made up rockstars for you to play as, with 3 unlockable characters available to purchase... Read review

Boy Band Clones Or Something More
Review of Apocadelic - Point Break by  KarenUK

Advantages: some great songs, they are nice to look at !!
Disadvantages: some rubbish songs, lots of samey tracks

...Point Break are three lads - Ollie and Brett from Newcastle (both used to be in the childrens' drama series, Byker Grove) and Dec from Coventry (who seems to have 80% of the group's talent, with a wonderful voice). I first noticed the group when they had a hit single with Freakytime, which I rather liked (although the lyrics are very sexual and not ones I would like my kids to go round singing !). Then they released the beautiful What About Us ? which I bought on CD single and is one of my favourite singles of the year. So I had this album for Christmas and was expecting a pretty good collection of songs and, to be honest, I was disappointed. There are some excellent songs (What About Us ?, Freakytime, You), some okay songs (Stand Tough, Do We Rock) and a load of average tracks. It is hard to know whether this group is just another... Paul Hunter's Profile
Review of Paul Hunter by  weemancford

Advantages: He has a great temperment
Disadvantages: At the moment he is only ranked ninth in the world

...He was born in Leeds West Yorkshire on the 14/10/78 and he turned pro in 1995.Hunter's highest tournament break is 143 it was made in the china open 2002.The 2001-02 season was a campaign of highs and lows for Paul Hunter as he pocketed £366,500 in prize money but was unable to break into the top eight in the world rankings. Hunter's total earnings in his professional career is £918,500.He has won a few major tournaments like the Regal Welsh open twice and the Benson and Hedges masters twice. The Regal Welsh has undoubtedly been Hunter's most successful ranking tournament. Outside the Masters and the Regal Welsh, it was a disappointing season for Hunter. He lost his first match in the British Open, European Open, Regal Scottish and Embassy World Championship and his second match in the LG Cup, UK Championship, China Open and Thailand... Read review

Aspartame aspirations
Review of Member Advice on Education & Careers by  relentless_behaviour

Advantages: Many, many.
Disadvantages: Many, many more.

...“So, young man… what do you want to be when you grow up?” I hated that question because a) it’s so bloody patronising, and b) I’m under the impression that they want you to say, “a careers officer, like you, sir.” Never gonna happen… I was first asked this pernicious little question in primary school and, to be honest, I can’t remember what I came up with, but I do know that I had to actually come up with something – I didn’t have my mind set on anything; not a thing. In secondary school, the same question was met with the same dilemma – What do I want to do as a career? I remember it well, my form tutor saying, “we’ve got the careers adviser coming in, so give it a little thought and have a good idea what you want to talk about with him.” I seriously don’t think he realised the gravity of what he was saying. He was telling us... Read review

This book 'coulda been a contender'
Review of Marlon Brando - Patricia Bosworth by  Paid.Ark.Man

Advantages: Quick and easy read, a good introduction to Brando
Disadvantages: Get a feeling that some of the writing is 'highlights' rather than insights

...Although this book was written before his death in 2004 (published 5th Dec 02), you imagine that the remaining two years of his life weren't that different since publication. There are many Brando biographies which were used as resources for this book, it has a 'cut and paste' feel but you still get the impression that Patricia is very knowledgeable about her subject. It provides a compacted read, a good introduction to the legendary actor but this could be a disappointment to a devoted fan as it doesn't break any new ground. Providing a useful insight into his life and films, a very much fact based account of his career of a man who was awarded the honour of 'best actor of the 20th century' by Time magazine. His fame as a film star was mainly due to his first six films and has a rather quick introduction to his childhood, schooling... Read review
