Carlisle's Premier Italian restaurant?

Advantages: Near theatre, great service, massive menu, beautiful fresh food, happy hour menu
Disadvantages: out of town centre, some dishes quite expensive, can get busy.

...For my Mother's birthday I bought a ticket for her to see Cabaret, the live tour. Of course she couldn't go alone, so I bought myself one too. We decided to make a real night of it by eating out first. Adriano's in Carlisle was the perfect choice being just 2 minutes away from the venue. My mother suggested this restaurant, I hadn't been before but she had on a couple of occasions and had been impressed. I was happy to go along with her recommendation as she usually chooses well, and she didn't let me down on this occasion either. Travelodge - Southwaite M6 - Carlisle

Advantages: cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: limited food available on site

...We recently travelled up to Scotland from Devon and on the way up needed to break up the journey. We stopped at Southwaite Travelodge on the M6. The Travelodge is right beside the southbound motorway between junctions 41 and 42. There is access from each side of the motorway and you have to drive under to motorway from the northbound side. It is 8 miles from Carlisle PRICE ++++++ We paid £50 for a non-smoking room which we booked online back in February. The current price is £51 or £54. BOOKING ++++++++ We booked online, which was very easy. You enter the date and number of nights, click away and it tells you what is available. ...I started to support Carlisle United on Boxing Day 2005, and from that moment, I was hooked onto League football instead of Premiership football. After supporting them for a few months, towards the end of last season, I decided it was time to buy a Carlisle United shirt. I had the choice of the home shirt and the away shirt. ...All Maps Welcome is the third album from Tom McRae, after his self-titled album, Tom McRe, and then Just Like Blood. I first heard this album when I was given a free taster to it, which played about 30 seconds of each song; this then led me to buy the full album. I was already a fan, and was looking forward to seeing him when he toured last year. His dark lyrics and melancholy melodies really blew me away, and I wanted to hear more. In this album, he uses assistance from members of Beck?s backing band. It took only three weeks to record, and the album itself deals with the break up of a long term relationship. His lyrics are just as deep as in other albums, but with hints of self-pity never seen before. They originally come with UK/Europe maps so these are a brilliant upgrade if you are considering taking your car abroad or hiring a car and driving over there. These are a lot easier than using a standard map when you are visiting another country and make getting around easy. We have just bought one of these as we are planning a trip to the USA and decided one of these would be useful. I have never been abroad so certainly wont know my way around. A package of maps worth having

...Having used a Tom Tom Go 700 for a number of years, I decided to update the maps of Western Europe. Tom Tom uses software called Tom Tom Home which is used to download the updated maps. Having connected Tom Tom Go 700 to my PC, via a USB cable, it was a simple matter of clicling on the relevant icon on the Home Software, paying for the maps, and downloading them over the internet. Payment was straight forward. It is undertaken electronically either by credit or debit card, and the down load commenced. Because of the size of the map file, it took a little time to download (I do have broadband running at 8mb band width, so I suppose a lesser bandwith will take longer. Use of the system is simplicity itself. You are given a choice of country, and then you select address, or point of interest....

TOMTOM UK MAPS Re-written . .

Advantages: Easy to keep with TOMTOM at all times.
Disadvantages: Easy to lose if not in safe stowage.

These maps are very easy to load into the Tomtom, (they load in a few moments) easy to use, show just about everything you need to navigate with ease There are some very easy to see graphics, and the colours are just about right for all light conditions. The display is very clear, and unaffected by sunlight. It is easy to see in all conditions. The price does appear a little on the high side at the moment, however, I suspect it will drop as soon as it starts selling like "hot cakes" as I am sure it will do very soon. The only fault I can think of, is the ease of losing it, due to the size, however, I find that used film containers are perfect for things like this. The blank cards are cheap enough to buy...
