...As the name would rather obviously suggest this is a magazine dedicated to the carp angler. A weekly publication, it brings you all the lastest news and views on anything to do with tracking down and catching this beautiful fish. Like most dedicated magazines specialising in a particular subject it goes quite in depth in some areas but it is a reccommended read to the serious angler. Features such as the News Round-up are particularly useful to keep up to date with the latest methods, trends and happenings in the world of carp fishing. I find the Catchlines section an interesting read as you get to see some of the large fish caught by anglers country wide together with a write up about where and how they caught their quarry. A section on the latest baits and a column by their regular columnist Simon Crow further enhance this...

It is very reliable and I have not encountered any problems with this although you might want to use better fixings than what it is supplied with as they are not very strong. Review of Rehau Wall Mounted Automatic Hose Reel

Not a durable reel

Advantages: Good casting distance, high speed retrieval, comfortable handle, good power
Disadvantages: Outer finishing seems not lasting too long. Quality deterioriate after some time.

...This reel had every features that you wanted from a shore reel. From ergonomic handle, high speed, retrieving power and long cast. I wrote a good review about this reel before but today I am taking it back. It is simply because this reel had no durability as demanded. After had some fun with this reel, it started to get 'heavy'. the turn is no longer smootth and when drag is tighten, the reeling smoothness became tight as well. I had cleaned, re-lubricate and service, it just not able to be at its peak state. Now I will not even recommend this reel to anyone. You might be better off getting a Penn at the same amount of money or spend a bit more for Shimano that never fail to impress and yet very durable....

It was produced with that well know angling publication Angling Times, which I’m sure any fisherman will have heard about, and retailed at the price of £3.99 in paperback form. The book starts off by giving you a couple of pages on the making of screaming reels, very nice for starters, but then we get to the real purpose of this book. Which is the description of 150 of Britains best day ticket waters. The book does this by dividing the country into five areas, London & the South, North West, West Midlands, Central & East Midlands and Yorkshire & North East. What a load of Carp!

Advantages: It's less than an hour in length and cheap.
Disadvantages: Too many to mention.

...In this dvd Bob Nudd, with the aid of very bad editing, manages to ruin what could have been a great instructional aid to anglers who want to pursue this fine art of catching tench and carp on the long pole. The techniques and rigs shown are relavant however the sequence that each is explained is extreemly disjointed. It was like watching a dvd with shuttle turned-on on your dvd player. You never knew what would be explained next. This was obviously a first attempt at making such a film.....and it shows. ...Ok, so the end of November might seem a strange time to buy a garden hose reel set, but mine tends to get more use washing a muddy dog & dirty cars, especially at this time of year. The previous hose reel I had, has recently given up after a number of years of sterling service. The handle had fallen off the winder, and there were a number of punctures in the hose pipe, so it was time to find a replacement, I cannot remember what make this one was, but it was cheap, and must have lasted at least 6 years, so I cannot complain. I found the Hozelock 25m Compact Hose Reel at Focus DIY for a very competitive £25. As well as a pretty sturdy, plastic, floor standing reel, you also get 25 meters of yellow hose pipe, and all the connectors you need to get the thing plumbed in, plus, an adjustable spray nozzle. ...Reel Big Fish Live at the House of Blues is a music DVD recorded in 2003, and is one of a series of "The Show Must Go Off" DVDs produced by Kung Fu Records. Although the concert begins with a few hiccups, it soon becomes clear why the band have such a devout following of "skankers". You really get a feel for the energy and buzz of the audience they are playing to, and you feel as though the band actually enjoy each other's company as well as the recognition they get for their music. In my opinion, the DVD is 105 minutes too short, and although watching a DVD of a gig would never be the same as attending it for real, I know that each time I watch it I will notice something new, and take away some of the infectious happiness that they omit every minute that they grace the stage. This DVD is highly recommended to all Reel Big Fish...

The Shakespeare Ganza rear-drag reel reviewed

Advantages: 2 spools, 2 handles, looks good

...I got this reel for Christmas a couple of years ago from my late Mum's older sister's family (I actually asked for the Potenza, but the local tackle shop was out of them... so got this newer Ganza instead). It's available in in 5 different sizes for various types of fishing: 2403/030 - Holds 170m of 4lb Line 2403/035 - Holds 210m of 3lb Line 2403/040 - Holds 200m of 8lb line 2403/045 - Holds 230m of 10lb line 2403/050 - Holds 250m of 15lb line I guess the 030 version is for general coarse fishing...... Roach / Rudd / Perch / small Tench, etc. The 035 version is almost certainly for budding Bob Nudds & Alan Scotthorne's, as it's the only one in the range supplied with 2x Shallow Aluminium Match spools. The 040 version is the one I've got, I reckon that it's best use is for Chub, Barbel & Larger Tench + Carp in low...
