...I have just returned from a Royal Carribean Cruise and wanted to say that it is the best vaccation I have ever had! The ship is beatifully clean and well maintained. The stateroom attendant (maria)(the person who looks after your cabin) greeted us, knowing our names. This was a really nice touch. Every night when returning to your room, the bed was turned down, there were mints on the pillows and a little sculpture made out of the towels! The dining rooms were amazing and again the service was outstanding.(thanks to Francis, our waiter & Lawerence, our assitant waiter). There were wine waiters, head waiters & maitre'd. One little thing that I did not like was the idea of tipping. This was to be done on the final night by placing a suggested amount into an envelope and handing it to your waiter, assitant waiter, stateroom attendant...

Holiday of a lifetime or plain sailing?

Advantages: You can spend nothing or as much as you like on extras

...Navigator of the Seas, one of the cruise ships in the Royal Carribean Line was chosen as a venue for our Silver Wedding Anniversary holiday. Neiher of us had been on a cruise before, the nearest to it was crossing to Spain or Scandinavia on a a sleep over ferry. We researched a few cruise lines before settling on this one. Choice was based on the large cabin size, the ports of call and the dates available. We paid a deposit fairly early (more than a year in advance) and that allowed us to select the stateroom we wanted. All cabins are called staterooms and then you have the suites. As it was a special occasion we elected for a Junior Suite which was more spacious than an ordinary external cabin. We liked the idea of a balcony and there was a large walk in closet with light as well as the bedroom and slightly divided from the living...

Making a splash

Advantages: Everything in one place

...I just got back from my first ever cruise, and can honestly say i had a great time! Like many other people who take cruises i had no idea what to expect. I booked it very easily over the phone ( it can be done over the internet) and papers were emailed to me shortly after. I chose a nine night cruise that travelled around the Carribean islands making a few stops along the way. Before going I visited the Royal Caribbean website in order to find out a little bit about the ship i was going on and what to take. The site is very useful stating in quite a lot of detail what to expect when you arrive and how to prepare. This made me feel a lot more comfortable about everything, and i was ready to go. disney carribean beach

Advantages: great family resort
Disadvantages: its big

...Having gone to orlando with my wife in 2000 for the celebrations, we decided to return in 2004 with our daughter so she could experience the magic aswell. We went with virgin and the cost was about £3200 for 14 nights and free car hire but we chose not to as it has a great bus service which picks up from each village and will take you to all disney parks. This was the second time now at the carribean beach resort, to which i must say it was still as great as the first time The whole hotel has six villages Jamaica,Trinidad (south , north) Barbados,Martinique and aruba all set around a huge lake. So if you dont like walking you may want to choose another hotel. There are bridges which link to a island which does shorten the walk and is nice because the way it is set out and the wildlife to.All the rooms are spacious and decorated well...

Carribean Paridise?

Advantages: Low level, friendly, amazing pool, on the beach
Disadvantages: none

...cojimar even the maids take enough rpide in their work to fold the towles into shapes of swans/flowers or fish, just for your pleaure. Oh and my advice if you ever go. get up in the morning for sunrise, the gorgeous reddy purples and silhouetted palm trees is a sight to behold, it gets even better when it fades to the carribean blue sky and the hot sun streams down on you early in the morning. If you get a chance go there. I know i'll be going back...

Occidental Carribean Village with Thomsons

Advantages: Atmosphere, weather, nightlife (cheap clubs), shopping, hotel and club staff, English speaking
Disadvantages: Can be stormy, also can be expensive to drink and bars and go on excursions

...The first thing that hits you is the heat as you get out the plane. The Mexican's are strict and go through every case before you can enter the country and they're all out for a tip, but willing to help you in any way to get. And you've got to remember a couple of pounds is a lot to them. The Carribean Village is lovely hotel, classed as 3 star in the brochure. However the service is great and the pool area's very lively and has it's own stretch of private beach just down a few steps, and the all inclusive drinks service covers there as well. There's a pool bar and these people are generous with thier measures and experimental with the cocktails! The rooms in the hotel were fairly basic, but with huge beds, excellent air conditioning systems, powerful showers, digital tv showing American channels, hairdryer etc.etc. You can get...
