...Carry On Camping has got to be one of my favourite films. I am not usually a fan of 'old' films , so it is quite strange that I like this film. I could watch it over and over again without getting tired of it. Carry On Camping is a British comedy film, released in the United Kingdom on May 29th 1969. It was directed by Gerald Thomas and stars Barbara Windsor (Peggy in Eastenders) and Sid James as well as a few other well known actors. Running time of the movie is 88 minutes. The film is a PG. ...This is the film adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name. ...Stephen King - Carrie Is there anybody out there who hasn't read (or seen the movie) Carrie yet?? I wouldn't dare to call myself a fan of Stephen King if I haven't. Not only it's his first book, published in 1974, the first of the neverending row of his bestselling novels, but it's nothing but pure horror story. I admired every aspect of it, the narrating, the dialogues, environment and characters. I think it's the characters that turned Carrie into a legend. The storyline The beginning couldn't be more down-to-earth. We're somewhere in the eighties and the story starts through newspaper reports. It is an adaptation which is nothing short of excellent, but which lacks some of the pace of King's novel. The story itself is probably one which is known to all, but if it has managed to pass you by over the years then it goes a little something like this: Carrie is an unpopular teenage girl in high school. ...I've long been a Stephen King fan and have read many of his books, yet I have only just read his seminal 'masterpiece' and debut, Carrie. This book was a refreshing break from many of his later works, that all seem to focus on a titanic struggle between good and evil (see The Stand, Desperation et al). This book is nicely free of all sense of good and evil, there are no ethics or political messages here, just a mentally scarred little girl. For those of you who don't know, Carrie is a story about a girl who is bullied into religious fanaticism by her over-zealous she-bull of a mother, which obviously makes her an awkward social outcast at school. This leads to years of bullying that leave her numb to most things, untrusting, and bitter. After she discovers that she can control her telekinesis, or TK, ability, she finds new strength...

Advantages: very funny, well acted, entertaining, good story

...Carry On Spying is one of the best Carry On films, nicely balancing a good plot with some hilarious moments. It is also the first Carry On appearance for Barbara Windsor & one of her best. This spoofs all the usual James Bond, Mata Hari kind of genre, but with a reverence, so you are laughing at it, but it does not detract from the continuing plot of the film you are watching. The cast are excellent throughout, with Bernard Cribbins, Jim Dale & Dilys Laye making welcome reappearances. It is interesting, exciting & entertaining, as well as being very clever & funny. It basically has everything you could wish for & stands out as one of the best Carry On films ever made....

Carry On Regardless

Advantages: some hilarious sequences

...Although Carry On Regardless doesn't seem to be one of the most popular of the black & white Carry On films, it is one of my favourites. It is also the one I have seen most often of this era, as my Dad recorded it off the TV years ago & we often watched it. The end sequence of the house falling down is one of my most vivid memories of the Carry Ons, along with Stanley Unwin's wonderful lingo :-) This is about the Helping Hands Agency, set up by Sid James' Bert Handy & ably assisted by the dotty Miss. Cooling, played by Esma Cannon. Their premise is to help out in any situation & match up the requirements of the task to the varied talents of its staff. However, the cards with the information on get mixed up, so the wrong people get sent to the wrong tasks & there lies the core joke. Some scenes are funnier than others, but it is well...

Carry on screaming review

Advantages: Its hilarious

...I think this is definatley my favorite carry on film and probably my favorite comedy short of the life of brian.The carry on team return here with a few new additions including Harry h corbett to investigate the mysterious disapearence of a young girl who goes missing in the middle of the woods.A police detective(harry) his side kick and the girls boyfriend(jim dale) follow the clues till they come across a big old house in the woods, they decide to investigate and the story takes off.My favorite Keneth williams stars and steals the show ,Joan sims also gives a memorable performance as the inspectors nagging wife,the gags come thick and fast and keep you giggling all the way through,i hope im not the only who who thinks this is the best one they did.
