Petsas - A Good Local Alternative for Car Hire in Cyprus

Advantages: Competitive rates. Good service and a well maintained, excellent selection of cars.
Disadvantages: Typically laid back Cypriot attitude. Need to haggle for best prices.

Some people like to rent a car when they are on holiday and recently I have been on holiday in California (I actually wrote this review in California but I forgot to type it up.) so when we got to California we decided to rent - a - car from a place called Dollar rent a car, we had been traveling for over 48 hours already (from Liverpool to Heathrow and to LA.) But before we went my Mum had booked a car for 50.80 pounds that was not including insurances. ...We had a terrible experience with Goldcar in ALICANTE, spent 3 hours at their desk, always being dumped because of a customer behind us as if we were not customers ?! We booked a car from Goldcar online (using their Dealer "AutoEurope"), then when we arrived we had to pay the the fuel deposit. We had a VISA credit card and they tried using it and said it doesn't go through. We didn't have another credit card, they don't accept cash. But we used this card a ay ago for online shopping and t was working fine, never had issues with it before. We rang our bank, it said everything is fine with the card and they don't see that anyone would have been trying to charge it (Goldcar). Which means that there was something wrong with Goldcar's card processing system.. Then we were told to ring Autoeurope as they were the one's we dealt...

Having just returned from a fly-drive holiday there (the first I have done) I was really impressed with the set up. ...I recently hired a car for 4 days from Avis from their Dublin, Ireland, city centre location. I found the Avis website pleasant to navigate and I was not asked for any unreasonable or excessive information. The car selection and availability was good, especially given my short notice and the fact that it's peak season. To Avis's credit they did not charge me any surcharges for renting from a city centre location - people should be alert when hiring a car in Dublin as of some of Avis's big name competitors are charging a 25euro surcharge for hiring anywhere in Dublin city. Location and shop - The Avis city centre location in Dublin is close to the city centre which was ideal for me. We for example have an online booking system integrated in our Intranet - you simply fill in the data, get approval by your manager and usually 1 hour later, get the booking details emailed to you by National Car Rental. One option they offer is very useful for me. You don't actually have to go and pick up your car at a branch - even though they have a very good nationwide coverage. You can get them to deliver your car directly to your office or home. ...Ive now rented with Alamo/National car hire in the states now three time.Each time Ive found no problems at all.Ive found the staff to be very helpful...everyone was offered me a map and directions for journey when first collect the vehicle...some thing thats very welcoming when you are in a strange country. From both Miami and Los Angeles airport locations where I have rented from, the longest I had to wait for a shuttle bus which runs from directly outside any exit was 3 minutes...(even on 1am in the morning). Queues when your waiting to fill in your paperwork to pick up your car can be long(30 minutes), second time I paided about £15.00 for the full rental period and got lots of benefits....express pick up...no cancellation fees...and a full tank of petrol and an additional driver.
