I've had better chocolate ice creams than Carte D'Or
Advantages: Looks attractive, gives a sense of luxury
Disadvantages: Chocolate taste overpowers the white ice cream, awkward lid
...I have just - finally - managed to finish a 900ml tub of Carte D'Or Chocolate Inspiration ice cream that was bought some time ago and has been lingering in our freezer for some time, being ignored in favour of other flavours of ice cream that have much more appeal in my mind. Although I am well known for my love of chocolate and also recognised to be particularly fond of ice cream, this offering from Walls just doesn't work for me.
The first point of difficulty I noted with the ice cream was the tub. For some reason, these fancier (and more expensive) one-litre tubs of ice cream seem to come in more glamorous looking tubs than the standard, Walls Soft Scoop, square two-litre tubs of vanilla and I am not sure why. The Carte D'Or tub is one of those too-rounded-to-be-a-rectangle shapes which features an irritating, "breakaway" plastic tab...

The D'Or To Ice Cream Heaven
Advantages: Makes a nice change from 'Ben and Jerry's'
Disadvantages: Calorie Packed, Not cheap
...If I ever went on ?Mastermind? my specialist subject might well be Cherry Ice Cream (well its no weirder than the bloke who chose ?Cements Used In Hip Replacement? now is it?!)
I see myself as something of a cherry ice cream connoisseur and although Ben and Jerry?s ?Cherry Garcia? reigns supreme as the ice cream of choice in my household there is a young pretender to its throne?enter Carte D?Or Spagnola ice cream.
Carte D?Or ice cream isn?t new to the market and according to my ?extensive? research is the number one brand in Britain ? one in 10 people have now eaten Carte D?or ice cream (that was my useless fact for the day ? an even more useless one being that enough Carte D?or ice cream is sold in Britain each year to stretch from Lands End to John O?Groats and back again ? imagine the hassle getting to work if you had to negotiate...

I scream for ice cream.... italian style!
Advantages: Something a bit different.
Disadvantages: None!!!
...Here I am again faced with another review on ice cream? god I love this job! As with most of the other reviews they all seem to start with PMT, and end up a few extra pounds around my waist, the in between part is of course here!
The product I will now review is "Carte D'or ice cream - Amaretto".
Ok, there is one big difference with this ice cream review from the rest, this ice cream doesn't contain chocolate in any way shape or form, gasp? shock horror!
As always I was feeling a little down so decided to get myself something cold and sweet, as always I refuse to indulge on my own so I drag my husband down with me, he doesn't really mind!
So browsing through the freezer full of ice cream tubs, nothing was jumping out at me. I had managed to find a delicious tub of raspberry pavlova ice cream for the other half, but didn...

The Creaminess as you Swallow
Advantages: Very creamy and full of flavour
Disadvantages: Expensive(for ice cream)
...The creamy texture, the strong flavour and the soft scoop ease make Wall's Carte D'or Ice Cream my new devlish delight. I have strawberry, bought on special at Safeway. I could never afford it normally although now that I have had my first taste, I might have to make room in the budget.
You should ignore the fact that the reason it is extra creamy is because it has about ten times more fat than own brand ice cream. It's a treat right? Justify the fatiness by telling yourself you can make up for it by eating all of the large pieces of strawberries found throughout.
I bought it for £2.65 for 500mL which is terrible considering I can get two litres for 99p at Safeway, but the difference in taste is undeniable. Unlike most icecreams that are artificially flavoured, Carte D'or very obviously has genuine flavouring by...

ONCE TWICE THREE TIMES AN ICE CREAM AND I LOVE YOU
Advantages: THE IDEAL TREAT GREAT AS COMFORT FOOD
Disadvantages: EXPENSIVE TO SOME
...We went to visit my mom yesterday as she has been feeling unwell,a bit of a cold and a sore throat,so as a treat we decided to buy her some ice cream. Not any old ice cream though,we lashed out and bought her favourite, carte d?or triple chocolate.
I knew my mother like the chocolate ice cream of any variety so hopefully she would like this. Carte d?or is available in several different flavours, but this was the only one available in the chocolate variety. I love this too,so I was thinking of myself as well as my mom when I bought this.
This particular tub contains three different chocolates, milk plain, and white. The actual tub is oval, white plastic and the ice cream is visible. When we arrived at my mothers, she was much better and accepted the ice cream with pleasure. We opened the tub and just removed the plastic coating and there...

Yummy Mars Ice Cream
Advantages: Taste great, good value for money.
Disadvantages: None
...PACKAGING
"The things that caught my eye about the packaging where"
The peel back lid in the centre which is similar to that of McCain microwave chips and the lid can be resealed. The inviting picture of a Mars bar which looks sort of like it has been cut in half and only half of it is being shown, "revealing all the ingredients inside" including the ice cream and the delicious caramel centre. On the cover it tells you that in the box there are four individually wrapped bars. The part written on top of the picture of the mars ice cream says that its made of "Real Dairy Ice Cream". I also noticed how well designed the box is and that the lid is "very easy" to open. The recognizable mars design that anyone who has ever tried their products will be well acquainted with. The message which says " Real dairy ice cream " and deliciously soft...

BLOKES EAT ICE CREAM TOO
Advantages: TRIPLE Chocolate
Disadvantages: So much fat
...I don't really understand why girls always seem to think that ice cream will make all their problems go away, but I suppose whatever works is good. I prefer beer but of course end up feeling worse the next day.
My journey into the indulgent world of gourmet ice cream was an accident. Basically I was hungry and couldn't be bothered to make my own meal (even the microwave kind) so as I rooted around in the back of the freezer for something to munch on immediately, I came across a three quarter full pot of Carte D'or chocolate. Obviously a purchase made and left by the missus at some point.
So I took my chances at being beheaded if she noticed before I had a chance to replace it and dug in. Only when the pot was empty did I realize how delicious the whole experience was and an inkling of understanding about the female fixation...

Chewy ice cream!!
Advantages: Yummy sweet ice cream taste, Good value
Disadvantages: Has quite a lot of sugar, Hard to get hold of
...***CHEWITS***
Chewits are yummy chewy sweets available in a range of different flavours and different sized packs. You can buy these in single stick packs which come in flavours such as Blackcurrant, Fruit Salad, Orange and Strawberry. You can also buy these in packs of 5 which are available in mixed fruit and citrus flavours. Also according to their website they also sell sour flavoured Chewits in apple and tutti-fruity flavour.
***ICE CREAM CHEWITS***
I bought this 5 pack of Chewits in WHSmith for a bargain price of 69p which were labelled half price. I haven?t seen the ice cream Chewits around for years and they were my favourite flavour as a child, so I just had to have a pack of these. These come in light cream plastic packaging with the look of an ice cream on the front as the bottom half of the packet is coloured and looks...

Summertime ice cream
Advantages: Chocolate and ice cream
Disadvantages: None
...Summer summer summertime and that only means one thing, ice cream! I love it when it's hot outside as i now have a good excuse to eat ice cream, as if you really need an excuse, but anyway.
One of my favourite ways to eat ice cream is in bar form and in my opinion one of the best ranges around is the range from Magnum! Magnum is an ice cream brand is owned by the British/Dutch Unilever company. They have quite a lot of different flavours that they produce now, including the ones that they have released the last couple of years such as Mayan Mystica, Ecuador Dark and Colombia aroma but I have to say that my favourite is actually the original version, now known as the Magnum classic.
The Magnum Classic first came out in 1989 and was just called Magnum but was later rebranded. It can be likened to a choc ice, ie vanilla ice cream covered...

A diabetic ice cream that tastes brilliant!
Advantages: Tastes glorious, not too expensive
Disadvantages: None for me I love this
...I will start by saying that, although I am a diabetic, I rarely buy ?diabetic? products as I know from the research done by Diabetes UK that they are generally not worth the money. It is usually better to eat the ?ordinary? equivalent but in moderation. In fact if you eat some diabetic products such as chocolate the sweeteners used in them can have a quite severe laxative effect as I have discovered to my cost!
It is much better to eat a generally low fat, low sugar diet with an occasional treat.
I have, however, tried vanilla ice cream that has been specially made for diabetics on a couple of occasions and found it to be white, watery, tasteless stuff so when I saw Franks Diabetic Ice Cream in the freezer at Tesco?s I was in two minds whether to even bother trying it to be honest. Anyway Dave suggested that it might be worth a go...
